M Murphy and S Champkin were advised they will require a medical clearance prior to his next race ride. Race 1: ROYAL GEORGE HOTEL ROSEWOOD Class 3 Handicap 1600 metres DELANEY'S GIRL – Raced keenly in the middle stages. ROSE OF TAORMINA – Inclined to over-race when caught wide in the early and middle stages of the event. Momentarily awkwardly placed at the heels of DELANY’S GIRL rounding the home turn. KING FAROUK – The start was delayed when the horse proved difficult to load. Co-trainer D Lane was advised KING FAROUK would require a further barrier certificate prior to its next race start. After being crossed by LINCOLN TOWN near the 1500m, over-raced at heels and shifted out. Raced wide for the majority of the event thereafter. Race 2: TRADIES RACEDAY SATURDAY 21ST JANUARY Maiden Plate 1400 metres DEDICATED FEW – Crowded for room approaching the 1300m. GOLD INVEST – Began awkwardly. Taken in and crowded for room approaching the 1300m. HYPERION ANGEL – Checked approaching the 1300m. At a subsequent inquiry A Thompson, rider of GEPARD, pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under AR131(a) in that approaching the 1300m he permitted his mount to shift in when insufficiently clear of GOLD INVEST which was taken in resulting in HYPERION ANGEL being crowded for room and having to be checked. The licence of A Thompson to ride in races was suspended for a period of 8 days to commence 8th December up to and including 15th December 2022. PERSONAL FIRE – Raced wide in the early stages of the event. TOPTIMISTIC – Slow to begin. Hampered approaching the 1300m. GEPARD – Blundered on entering the home straight. Following the running of this event the track was upgraded to a Good 3. Race 3: BOOK YOUR TICKETS ONLINE @ LOCALTICKETS.COM.AU Maiden Plate 1400 metres WAR HOPE – Reared at the start and lost ground. Raced wide throughout. YOU BETTER YOU BET – Knuckled on jumping away and lost ground.A post-race veterinary examination revealedno abnormalities. DESHORENTE – E MacPherson, rider of DESHORENTE, was fined $200 under AR132(7)(a)(ii) for use of the whip on six occasions prior to the 100m, one more than permitted. WHEN DOVES FLY – Blundered at the start. T Marshall, rider of WHEN DOVES FLY, was reprimanded under AR132(7)(a)(ii) for use of the whip on six occasions prior to the 100m, one more than permitted. Race 4: MERRY CHRISTMAS & HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL Maiden Handicap 860 metres YULLI – Slow to begin.A post-race veterinary examination revealed lameness in the off foreleg. Trainer S Foster was advised the horse would require a veterinary clearance prior to its next race start. CHANCE AT MIDNIGHT – Slow to begin. Became awkwardly placed at heels passing the winning post. BEGUDTOYAOWNER – Slow to begin.Over-raced in the early stages.A post-race veterinary examination revealed lameness in the off hindleg. Trainer S Foster was advised the horse would require a veterinary clearance prior to its next race start. FUMBLEROOSKI – Shifted in under pressure over the concluding stages. Raced wide for the majority of the event. GOLDEN GROOVE – As had not started for an extended period, underwent a pre-race veterinary examination, and was cleared to start. SHE'S APPROACHING – Began awkwardly. Raced wide for the majority of the event. BOITUMELO - Raced wide for the majority of the event. Race 5: TEMPORARY FENCE & BARRIER HIRE QTIS Three-Year-Old Maiden Plate 860 metres MR GALAZI – Raced wide for the majority of the event. MY MOSES – Near the 500m laid in, contacted the heels of MR GALAZI and blundered.Raced wide for the majority of the event. VODKA MARTINI – As had not started for an extended period, underwent a pre-race veterinary examination, and was cleared to start. APRIL IN AUGUSTA – Raced greenly and laid out in the early stages of the event. ASHMOLEAN – Slow to begin. HEROIC ROSE – On arrival on track underwent a veterinary examination and found to have sustained lacerations to the offside hindquarters and was subsequently declared late scratching at 1:19pm on veterinary advice. Co-Trainer T Button was advised HEROIC ROSE would require a veterinary clearance prior to its next race start. TESSELEIGHT – Began awkwardly. YAKUTSK – Raced wide for the majority of the event. Race 6: TAB - DOWNLOAD THE NEW APP BENCHMARK 70 Handicap 860 metres On return to scale T Marshall, rider of 2nd past the post DREAM WEAVING, viewed the patrol footage in the home straight before lodging a protest against first past the post THE BILLIONAIRE alleging interference approaching the winning post. After viewing the available footage and hearing submissions from both parties, Stewards found that a point inside the 100m THE BILLIONAIRE shifted out under riding resulting in T Marshall being obliged to stop riding DREAM WEAVING out in his usual manner for a number of strides. Bearing in mind the head margin and the manner in which DREAM WEAVING finished the race off, Stewards were of the opinion had the interference not occurred DREAM WEAVING would have finished ahead of THE BILLIONAIRE and therefore upheld the protest and amended the placings to read 7 – 4 – 5 – 6. S Collett, rider of THE BILLIONAIRE, was advised to exercise greater care in similar circumstances in this incident. KING OF THE DESERT – At the request of trainer B Ahrens the horse was declared a late scratching at 1:36pm due to the track upgrade to a Good 3. SEQUESAY – Slow into stride. DREAM WEAVING – Slow to begin. Momentarily held up entering the home straight.MANDALONG ROMAN – Raced wide for the majority of the event. REMEMBER MARY – Laid out near the 400m.Raced wide for the majority of the event. Race 7: GOODYEAR AUTOCARE GATTON RATINGS BAND 0 - 58 Handicap 2000 metres MEMOIRE PARFAIT – Shifted out to improve near the 1400m and bumped FORCE ME.FORCE ME – Bumped near the 1400m.KALPANA – Began awkwardly. In light of today’s performance, trainer K Schweida advised it would now be his intention to spell KALPANA. MT MORT SHARK – J Taylor,rider of MT MORT SHARK, was reprimanded under AR132(7)(a)(ii) for use of the whip on seven occasions prior to the 100m, two more than permitted. TRIPPER – Raced wide from the 1100m. Apprentice L Sykes, rider of TRIPPER, was fined $200 under AR132(7)(a)(ii) for use of the whip on eight occasions prior to the 100m, three more than permitted. RECALL EVENTS – Slow to begin. Race 8: MCNEIL FARMS RATINGS BAND 0 - 55 Handicap 1100 metres AFROGINASOCK – Began awkwardly and lost ground. Near the 150m steadied from the heels of DAWN COLOURS and had to be steadied. S Collett, rider of DAWN COLOURS, was reprimanded for careless riding under AR131(a) in this incident. Raced wide for the majority of the event. SERTIN – Rounding the home turn bumped the running rail and became momentarily unbalanced.Held up for clear running from the entrance to the home straight until a point near the 100m. THAT'LL BE THE DAY – As the horse competed at the Ipswich meeting on Dec 2nd 2022, underwent a pre-race veterinary examination, and was cleared to start. Raced wide for the majority of the event. ROMANCE FACTOR – Slow to begin. DAWN COLOURS – Raced wide in the early stages of the event. KIRELLA SHORES – A post-race veterinary examination revealed the horse to have pulled up in a distressed manner and was showing signs of dehydration. Trainer G Duncan was advised the horse would require a veterinary clearance prior to its next race start. Race 9: ROCK TRADE INDUSTRIES BENCHMARK 62 Handicap 1100 metres GAMBIT – As had not started for an extended period, underwent a pre-race veterinary examination, and was cleared to start. Tailed the field throughout finishing some distance from the main body of the field. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Trainer B Phillips was advised a TAB bar would be placed on GAMBIT until it establishes form at non-TAB tracks. BY BY MUSIC – Made the turn at the 350m awkwardly and became unbalanced. Rider S Lacy reported the horse failed to let down from that point. Raced wide for the majority of the event.A post-race veterinary examination of BY BY MUSIC revealed no abnormalities. LADY SHANGHAI – Slow to begin. NORTHULDRA – Made the home turn awkwardly. SEE FOR YOURSELF – Raced wide for the majority of the event.Dislodged the offside winker near the 150m. TRINITY MISSILE – Laid in for a short distance near the 400m.
