When Apprentice C. Sutherland was indisposed due to illness, Stewards permitted the following rider changes:

Apprentice Sutherland was advised he would require a medical clearance prior to racing again.

Race 1: HAYMANS ELECTRICAL MAIDEN PLATE (860m)
 
HARD FEED – Raced wide and without cover throughout the event.
 
RUBICKS CHOICE – After beginning only fairly, hampered between runners and obliged to steady. Raced keenly on heels in the early stages. When over-racing approaching the 600m, bumped with MAH DRAGON. Laid out rounding the home turn.
 
AVOIDING HER – Raced wide and without cover throughout the event.
 
BOITUMELO – Began awkwardly and bumped MAH DRAGON.
 
MAH DRAGON – Raced keenly on heels in the early stages. Bumped with RUBICKS CHOICE approaching the 600m.
 
POLYGAL – Laid in under pressure in the home straight. Apprentice T. Noble was reminded of her obligations under AR131(b) to ride her mounts out fully to the finish line.
 
LITTLE SHOW – Approaching the 700m raced in restricted room to the inside of POLYGAL for several strides. Laid out rounding the home turn.
 
MAPLE MAGIC – Raced wide throughout. Raced greenly in the home straight and shifted in abruptly approaching the winning post.
 
 
 
Race 2: REDMONDS PET & LIVESTOCK SUPPLIES MAIDEN PLATE (860m)
 
CHISUM – Laid out rounding the home turn.
 
SHALAA MAGIC – Approaching the 600m, bumped with ASYMMETRY. Raced wide and without cover throughout the event. 
 
BETTER PAGE – Shortly after the start, when racing in restricted room bumped with DAUNTING STORM on several occasions. Blundered on entering the home straight and became unbalanced. Laid in over the concluding stages.
 
DAUNTING STORM – Shortly after the start, bumped on several occasions with BETTER PAGE.
 
LIFE IS A HIGHWAY – Slow to begin. Failed to muster the required speed to maintain contact with the remainder of the field. Jockey J. Stanley reported that the mare would be better suited over longer distances in future starts. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
 
COLTMAN – Raced wide and without cover throughout the event. Laid out under pressure in the home straight, before shifting in abruptly approaching the 100m and being obliged to be corrected by its rider. 
 
ASSYMETRY – Raced wide and without cover throughout the event. When racing in restricted room approaching the 600m, laid out and bumped with SHALAA MAGIC. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
 
 
Race 3: UQ EQUINE SCIENCE RATINGS BAND 0 - 58 HANDICAP    (2000m)
 
WINTER THORN (IRE) – Raced wide and without cover throughout the event before being eased down from the 500m. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant abnormalities.  
 
ISOMETRIC (NZ) – Held-up for clear running on rounding the home turn.
 
FURTHERING – Began awkwardly, before from the wide barrier being shifted in behind runners in the early stages.
 
LIZZIE'S PRIDE (NZ) – Passing the winning post on the first occasion, momentarily hampered when being crossed by BOULT. Raced wide and without cover for majority of the event. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
 
BOULT – Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was passed fit to start. Apprentice S. Willis pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under AR131(a) in that approaching the winning post on the first occasion when attempting to obtain a position in the lead, shifted in she did permit her mount to shift in when insufficiently clear of LIZZIE’S PRIDE, which was momentarily hampered before continuing into the line of NIGHT VISION which was obliged to restrain and lost its rightful running. Apprentice S. Willis’ license to ride in races was suspended for 11 days commencing on 8 of October 2023 up to and including 18th October 2023. In assessing penalty, Stewards considered the interference to be in the mid-range of carelessness, and Apprentice Willis’ guilty plea and record. Apprentice Willis was advised of her rights to appeal.
 
JANE HIS WIFE – Raced wide and without cover throughout the event.
 
NIGHT VISION (NZ) – Began awkwardly. Approaching the winning post on the first occasion, was obliged to restrain from the heels of BOULT and lost ground. Jockey J. Lloyd was reminded of his obligations to ride his mounts out to the finish.
 
WINSTON BLUE – As the gelding had raced at the Sunshine Coast on Sunday, 1 of October 2023, underwent a pre-race veterinary inspection and was passed fit to start. Laid in under pressure in the early stages of the home straight before shifting out over the concluding stages taking DELANEY’S GIRL wider.
 
DELANEY'S GIRL – Taken wider over the concluding stages by WINSTON BLUE.
 
BOOG'S BOY – Approaching the 1900m when attempting to shift in to obtain a position of cover, inconvenienced DELANEY’S GIRL and ISOMETRIC who were obliged to steady. Apprentice E. Pomfrett was reprimanded pursuant to AR131(a) for careless riding in this incident. Held up for clear running approaching the 400m on the heels of the weakening NIGHT VISION.
 
 
Race 4: BOWES ELECTRICAL CLASS 3 HANDICAP (1600m)
 
INSPIRATION – Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
 
SCENIC RIM – Laid out under pressure rounding the home turn and continuing to do so in the home straight.
 
TRIPLE CITIZEN – As Apprentice C. Sutherland was unable to fulfil his engagement due to illness, Stewards permitted Apprentice E. Lang to be declared the replacement rider.
 
DEDORS LAD – After beginning well from an inside barrier, may have settled more forward than expected.
 
RUN RAMPANT – As the gelding had raced at Armidale on Saturday, 30 September 2023, underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was passed fit to start. Raced keenly during the middle stages.
 
 
Race 5: LADBROKES BENCHMARK 65 HANDICAP (1400m)
 
KUZCO LAD – Laid out rounding the home turn and in the early stages of the home straight. On entering the home straight, Apprentice R. Thorburn was placed at a slight disadvantage when his whip became entangled in the reins for a short distance.
 
OUTLAW JOSEY WALES – Held-up for clear running on entering the home straight.
 
SUPER GORGEOUS – Difficult to load. Slow to begin. Trainer B. Smith was advised that a warning was placed on the gelding for its barrier manners.  
 
KIKI COCO – In the early part of the home straight, became awkwardly placed on the heels of KORUTO before shifting wider to obtain clear running. Again, became awkward on the heels of KORUTO over the concluding stages.
 
DOOMANI (NZ) – Raced wide and without cover throughout the event. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be displaying cardiac arrhythmia for the first occasion. Trainer Mr P. Jenkins was advised of the provisions of the Racing Australia Code of Practice under AR88B(2)(b) being that the gelding would require the results of an ECG and a satisfactory trial prior to again being permitted to start in a race.
 
Race 6: GATTON VIEW HOTEL MAIDEN PLATE (1400m)
 
BELPHEGOR – Raced wide and without cover for majority of the event. Jockey K. Zechner reported that the gelding had the tendency to hang-out throughout the event.
 
EMPEROR TEIO – Raced keenly during the early and middle stages. Approaching the 1200m, inconvenienced and blundered after being crossed by THISGIRLSGOTTHIS. Jockey A. Allen, rider of THISGIRLSGOTTHIS, was reprimanded pursuant to AR131(a) for this incident. Raced wide and without cover throughout the event.  Underwent a post-race veterinary examination which revealed no abnormalities. Trainer B. Chessher was advised that a warning will be placed on the gelding’s racing manners.
 
MOOLOOLABA MAGIC – As Apprentice S. Blunt was unable to make the weight on the gelding, Stewards permitted her to be replaced by apprentice B. Wheeler. Stewards accepted Apprentice Blunt explanation for failing to fulfil her riding engagement. Began awkwardly. Eased down from the 400m. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant abnormalities. Trainer P. Duncan was advised that due to the poor performance, MOOLOOLABA MAGIC must barrier trial to the satisfaction of Stewards prior to racing again.
 
REDVEDEV (NZ) – Slow to begin. Approaching the 800m commenced to over-race on heels when the pace slackened. Improved onto the heels of SPYRO rounding the home-turn and obliged to shift wider to obtain clear running.
 
SPYRO – Hampered on jumping between runners. Raced wide and without cover throughout the event.
 
BETTER BELIEVE IT – As Jockey R. Jamieson was delayed due to transport difficulties, she was replaced by Jockey T. Thornton. This was advertised by way of social media and on-course broadcast announcements. Began awkwardly.
 
I AM AMAZES – Began awkwardly. Taken wider rounding the home-turn when THEGIRLSGOTTHIS laid out.
 
THEGIRLSGOTTHIS – Laid out rounding the home-turn.
 
WAN D'AMOUR – Raced wide and without cover throughout the event.
 
MISTY GOLD – Proved difficult to load. Trainer T. Churchill was advised that the mare would have a warning placed on its barrier manners.
 
 
Race 7: BARRIER REEF POOLS RATINGS BAND 0 - 58 HANDICAP (1400m)
 
ATLANTIC ROYAL – Bumped with BLUE VELVET over the concluding stages.
 
BIGGIE – Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
 
BELLE'S BOY – Laid in and bumped the running rail inside the 800m.
 
HERECUM DA DRUMS – A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
 
KABOOM – From a wide barrier, shifted in behind runners in the early stages.
 
JUBILANT – Began awkwardly. Raced keenly in the early stages.
 
LOVIN' DE QUO – Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination on arrival at the barriers after slipping over in the mounting yard and was passed fit to start. Laid in and bumped the running rail inside the 800m.
 
AWESOME AUDREY – Raced wide and without cover throughout the event.
 
BLUE VELVET – Began awkwardly. Inside the 200m, obliged to shift inside heels of LOVIN’ DE QUO to obtain clear running. When laying in, bumped ATLANTIC ROYAL over the concluding stages.
 
 
Race 8: BOOK YOUR XMAS PARTY AT LVTC SUNDAY 12TH NOVEMBER RATINGS BAND 0 - 58 HANDICAP (1400m)
 
AFSOON (NZ) – Rounding the home turn, attempted a narrow run between THORBSY and DISCONCERTED before being obliged to restrain when THORSBY gave ground abruptly, and bumped. As a consequence, shifted wider to obtain clear running.
 
CLUSTER'S REIN – On jumping, from the wider barrier shifted in behind runners in the early stages.
 
THORSBY – Blundered at the top of the home straight and eased down thereafter. When commencing to give ground abruptly, bumped on the hindquarters by AFSOON. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be lame with a suspected tendon injury to the off-foreleg. Co-trainers A. and C. Perks were advised that THORSBY would require a full veterinary clearance before being required to barrier trial to Stewards’ satisfaction prior to racing again.
 
BIRAGUE – Over-raced throughout the event. Hung-out rounding the home turn. When attempting a narrow run between THORSBY and CLUSTER’S REIN, obliged to be shifted to the inside of those runners when THORSBY gave ground abruptly.
 
ELLIE'S DREAM – Began only fairly. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
 
JIMMY NEUTRON – Raced keenly in the early stages in the lead.
 
SKILLED ARTIST – Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination on arrival at the barriers at the request of its rider and was scratched on veterinary advice at 4.09pm when the mare was found to be lame behind. Prior to the declaration of correct weight Stewards ordered all monies invested on the mare were to be refunded with the following deductions applicable to all successful wagers placed prior to 4:09pm:

Trainer A. Boyd was advised that SKILLED ARTIST would require a veterinary clearance prior to racing again.

Race 9: HARMAN CONCRETING FILLIES AND MARES RATINGS BAND 0 - 58 HANDICAP (1100m)
 
MARTINI MOMENT – Began awkwardly. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
 
RUSSIAN DIVA – Raced keenly during the early stages. Jockey J. Adams reported that the mare did not appreciate the firmer track surface. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
 
SEA COMMITS – Began awkwardly.
 
NEARBY – Began awkwardly, lost ground before being hampered between runners. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
 
DEVILS WHERE – Raced wide and without cover throughout the event. Held-up for clear running rounding the home turn.
 
GRANDEUR ROSE – Laid out under pressure in the early stages of the home straight.
 
CONTESSA NILE – Raced wide and without cover throughout the event.
 
MISS HELMUT – Slow to begin. Raced wide and without cover throughout the event.
 
FLICK – Jockey J. Murphy reported at scale that the mare failed to show her customary early speed and felt uncomfortable in its action throughout the event. Finished tailed off. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings apart from an abrasion to the off hind fetlock. Trainer K. Afford was advised that a warning would be placed on the mare for its poor performance.
 
 
Race 10: QN HOTEL LAIDLEY COLTS, GELDINGS AND ENTIRES RATINGS BAND 0 - 58 HANDICAP (1100m)
 
Correct weight was delayed when it was ascertained that rider of MR MAHARAJ, Apprentice S. Willis had weighed in under the allocated weight of the gelding. Acting under the provisions of AR209, the gelding was disqualified from its 6th place finish. Correct weight was further delayed allowing Jockey D. Smith to view the footage of the home straight. When Jockey D. Smith and Stewards were similarly satisfied, correct weight was given on the judges’ semaphored numbers.
 
MAXIMUM ALTITUDE – Shifted out under pressure over the concluding stages, inconveniencing SPIRIT OF GIVING. Jockey T. Brooker was advised to exercise more care in similar circumstances.
 
BY BY BEAN – Momentarily held-up before being shifted wider around heels of THIEF BY NIGHT to obtain clear running in the early part of the home straight.
 
SPIRIT OF GIVING – Shifted in on jumping and bumped HEART OF MARBLE. Over the concluding stages, became awkwardly placed on the heels of MAXIMUM ALTITUDE which shifted out. Jockey D. Smith was reprimanded pursuant to AR132(7)(a)(ii) for using his whip on 7 occasions prior to the 100m.
 
ALBERT'S IN CHARGE – Began awkwardly. Over-raced during the early stages. Raced wide and without cover throughout the event. Laid in under pressure in the early stages of the home straight.
 
THIEF BY NIGHT – Began awkwardly. Held up for clear rounding the home turn. Approaching the 200 taken wider to obtain clear running, and in doing so, took BY BY BEAN wider, which was momentarily eased. Jockey D. Thornton was advised to exercise greater care in similar circumstances.
 
CRUISING BILL – As apprentice C. Sutherland was ill, Stewards permitted Apprentice E. Lang to be declared the replacement rider. Inside the 200m became awkwardly placed on the heels of HEART OF MARBLE and obliged to steady.
 
INSTANT RESPONSE – Raced wide and without cover throughout the event. Momentarily crowded for room in the early part of the home straight. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant abnormalities.
 
HAIRY LOVER – Raced wide and without cover throughout the event. Laid out rounding the home turn.
 
MR MAHARAJ – Held-up for clear running in the early part of the home straight before becoming awkwardly placed on the heels of SPIRIT OF GIVING and went to the line without being fully tested. Acting under the provisions of AR209, the gelding was disqualified from its 6th place finish. Apprentice S. Willis was fined $500 under AR209(1)(b), for failing to ensure the gelding carried its allocated weight. In assessing penalty, Stewards were mindful that as the gelding had finished unplaced there had been no impact on wagering with its subsequent disqualification, Apprentice Willis’ relative inexperience, her clear record in relation to the rule, her forthright evidence and guilty plea as well as relevant penalty precedents. Apprentice Willis was advised of her rights to appeal.
