SUPPLEMENTARY REPORT
Stewards were notified that Jockey Ms K. Gates was indisposed and would not be riding at today’s meeting. Later riding changes as per the Stewards Summary.
Trainer Ms N. King advised Stewards WILLYWYNYA was injured on Friday 6 June 2014 and had a minor cut on it’s off side cannon bone. The horse was examined by the attending Veterinarian who found no abnormalities and was passed fit to run at todays meeting.
Trainer Mr John Smith notified Stewards that his horses WHERE HEARTS LIE (Race 2) and OLYMPIC JOY (Race 5) were injured whilst being unloaded from the float after arriving at the course. A Veterinary examination revealed the horses were not fit to race at today’s meeting after being found lame. Both horses were officially scratched at 1.42 pm by Stewards. Mr Smith was advised a Veterinary Certificate would be required prior to the horse’s running again.
Race 1: NEVILLE GORDON MEMORIAL BENCHMARK 65 1000M HANDICAP.
The start of Race one was delayed due to the late arrival to the ambulance on course.
MI IDEA (Appr. Ms M. Cox) travelled wide throughout and hung out over the concluding stages.
HONOUR JACKO (I. Coombes) began slowly and failed to go the early speed. Approaching the 800M HONOUR JACKO had to be eased off the heels of WINDS OF FIRE (Appr. Ms R. Payne).
DR HOUSE cast a plate approaching the 800M point of the event and this may have contributed to the gelding’s poor performance at this meeting. Stewards spoke with Trainer Mr B. Hudson who advised the horse would be spelled after today’s run.
Race 2: BILL DAVIS MEMORIAL/ALLISON ROBINSON FAMILY QTIS MAIDEN PLATE 1000M
EPIC MISS (Appr. Ms M. Cox) was slow to begin.
Race 3: KAREN MCNAUGHT MEMORIAL/ VICTIMS OF CANCER CLASS B 1200M HANDICAP.
QUEEN LIBERTY (T. Banks) was slowly away.
CRAIGLEA EVITA (Appr. Ms T. Williams) travelled wide throughout.
Race 4: AVANCE CHARTERED ACCOUNTANTS GAYNDAH CUP 1400M OPEN HANDICAP
JUST FOR KEEPS (Appr Ms R. Payne) was slow to begin.
Approaching the 800M point COURT YA (Appr. Ms H. Phillips) appeared to stumble and made contact with the inside rail resulting in the rider losing her nearside iron and becoming unbalanced. This incident led to the mare losing significant ground at that stage.
Stewards spoke with Trainer Mr Barry Philips who advised Stewards the horse pulled up well with no injuries from the incident.
Race 5: TOP CITRUS AND RIVERTON CITRUS CLASS 2 1400M HANDICAP.
CYCLONE STEVE (I.Coombe) was slow to begin.
The rider of KLUBBITT Jason Missen advised Stewards his mount was disappointing and never travelled well during the event.

Race 2- WHERE HEARTS LIE- was kicked by another horse when being unloaded from the float. Injuries were located between hock and pastern with significant swelling off side rear leg.
Race 5- OLYMPIC JOY-was kicked by another horse being unloaded from a float. Injuries were located on rear near side leg with significant swelling and some lameness.
