General:

As App M Cox was unable to attend due to transport difficulties, stewards permitted the following rider changes:
Race 1: SPIDAZAM App J Philpot
Race 2: CRAIGLEA SHUFFLE App J Hodge


RACE 1: BENCHMARK 65 HDCP 1000 Metres

SATAN’S CHARIOT – hampered at start.

TROPICAL HEATWAVE – App J Hodge pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under AR137(a) in that near the 300m he permitted his mount to shift in under pressure when insufficiently clear of SPIDAZAM resulting in that runner being taken in and across HONOUR JACKO which had to be checked. J Hodge was suspended for a period to commence midnight 13 June up to and including midnight 20 June 2015, a period covered by one country meeting. Jumped out at the start hampering another runner. Leaving the 500m hung in despite the efforts of its rider and checked another runner. A post race Vet examination revealed abrasions to the near side hock.

HONOUR JACKO – checked at the 300m.

MR GOOD LOOKING – hampered at the start.

KIARA QUEEN – jumped in at the start contacting another runner.

SAVANNAH GOLD – hampered at the start.

CHIEF CHARGINGBEAR – bumped by another runner on jumping away.

SIDAZAM – tightened by another runner at the 500m and lost ground.









RACE 2: QTIS MAIDEN HDCP 1000 Metres

ALROE – proved difficult to load. When questioned regarding the disappointing performance, rider S Bayliss stated the gelding, which was having its first race start was unable to go the fast early speed in the event and did not appreciate the kickback when racing back in the field. A post race Vet examination of the gelding revealed no significant findings.

BABES COPYRIGHT – delayed start when difficult to load. Slow to begin.

BURKETOWN LARRIKIN – jumped out at the start and checked another runner.

CRAIGLEA SHUFFLE – made the home turn awkwardly and shifted wider on the track.

MONTE AGAR – checked at the start.



RACE 3: CLASS B HDCP 1200 Metres

Declaration of correct weight was delayed to allow stewards to determine if KROSS REFERENCE was afforded a fair start. Correct weight was also delayed to allow riders App D Daniel (YOU’LL HAVE TO) and A Badger (ASTRALIN) to view the video of the start to determine if they were also afforded a fair start. After taking evidence from starter Mr D Slack, viewing the official race DVD, and from stewards’ observations, it was determined that KROSS REFERENCE reared as the start was effected, and that YOU’LL HAVE TO and ASTRALIN were both marginally slow to begin of their own accord. In the circumstances, all three runners were declared official starters. Correct weight was further delayed to allow App J Hodge, the rider of SCRATCHY, to view the DVD replay in regards to an incident close to the finish line involving the winner AL’S BRIEF. After viewing the DVD, App Hodge elected not to take the matter further and correct weight was subsequently declared on the judge’s placings.


ASTRALIN – slow to begin.

YOU’LL HAVE TO – slow to begin.

KROSS REFERENCE – reared as the start was effected and lost considerable ground. Trainer M Hassam was advised a further barrier would be required prior to the mares next race start.



RACE 4: GAYNDAH CUP OPEN HDCP 1400 Metres

UNIQUE FUSE – slow to begin.

WINNER WIMMER – shifted out under pressure in the straight.





RACE 5: CLASS 2HDCP 1400 Metres

Declaration of correct weight was delayed to allow App H Phillips, rider of second place getter FAMECHON BARONESS to view the photo finish image. After viewing the image, correct weight was declared on judge’s placings.

DINA’S DRAGON – rider T Banks was reminded of his obligation to ride his mount out fully to the end of the race.

FUNNY FELLOW – laid in under pressure near the 300m.
