Rider M Cox was advised to exercise more care in similar circumstances. ASTI CHOPS bled from both nostrils following the running of the event.. Trainers representative for Mr B Hudson was advised the gelding would be stood down under AR53A (4) for three months and must complete a 1000m gallop in the presence of a steward prior to its next race start. DUBLE MEANING approaching the finish line was held up for clear running and obliged to steady off the heels of JUSTFLIKINIT. OUR CAPTION slow to begin and then raced wide for the majority of the event. MOLLY MIYAKO obliged to steady from heels near the 600 metres. JETTY BETTY began awkwardly and lost ground at the start. SCARLET JANE raced wide for the majority of the event. Race 2: Maiden Plate 1000 Metres BRAX raced wide for the majority of the event. HIGH CHANGE began awkwardly. Rider reported at scale the gelding had a tendency to race greenly at various stages throughout the event, and leaving the 400 metres became unbalanced for a short distance.. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormality. CHANGEINTHEVALLEY at scale rider T Chambers advised she elected to race raced wide from the 800 metres until rounding the home turn to avoid dust kickback. SMOOTH VELVET slow to begin and then raced widely for the majority of the event.>MISS SIDUAL Rider A Van Der Senden, which was placed fourth, was reminded of her obligations to ride her mounts out fully to the line. At the request from Club officials the starting times for remaining races were brought forward due to the threat of impending storm activity. Race 3: 2:50pmRace 4: 3:20pmRace 5: 4:00pm MIZ NAZAR raced wide for the majority of the event. KAWANA VIVA acting on a confirmed phone call from trainer Mr J Phillips, declared a late scratching at 10:25 am after being injured when being loaded onto the float.. Mr Phillips was advised KAWANA VIVA would require a veterinary clearance prior to its next race start. Race 3: CLASS B HDCP 1200 Metres NIGHTS ABLAZE when questioned regarding the disappointing performance, rider D Evans stated the gelding, in his opinion, was not comfortable on todayys racing surface.. Trainer W Melvin was also disappointed in the performance and indicated it was his intention to trial the horse before its next race start. Race 4: OPEN HDCP 1400 Metres ENDLESS PUZZLE jumped out at the start.. Had a tendency to lay in under pressure approaching the 100 metres. BRADY NN ME checked at the start when tightened for room. HULK HENRY jumped in at the start. GAS BURNER momentarily placed in restricted room near the 1000 metres. NANI FLYER finished tailed off. Trainer J Munce explained to stewards he had nominated in both the Benchmark 55 and the Open Handicap races, however was balloted out of the Benchmark 55 Hdcp race and therefore elected to start the gelding up in class today.. Race 5: BENCHMARK 55 HDCP 1400 Metres MAJOR SCOOP slow to begin. Rider K Gates accidentally dropped her whip near the 200 metres. TABRIZ examined by the club vet prior to the race and passed fit to start as the gelding had competed at Rockhampton on 12th October 2017.. EFFECTIVE ASSASSIN raced wide throughout. FIRST REGRET (NZ) slow to begin.. Raced wide rounding the home turn. PARMELIA raced wide rounding the home turn. LUCIFERRS ANGEL obliged to steady near the 1100 metres when placed in restricted room. BEACH HEAD held up and unable to improve between the 700 metres and the 300 metres.
