QUEENSLAND RACING INTEGRITY COMMISSION STEWARDS REPORT GAYNDAH JOCKEY CLUB – SATURDAY 9 JUNE 2018 WEATHER – FINE TRACK RATING – Firm 2 RAIL – True OFFICIALS Chairman of Stewards – J. WilliamsonStewards – C FedrickClerk of Scales – R Bellert Judge – Chris Seidner, Carl WiedemannVeterinarian – Nathan HitchcockBookmakers Supervisor – StewardsStarter – D Slack General Prior to the running of Race 1 during an inspection jockey C Eaton located a large hole near the 600m a small distance from the inside fence. After remedial work was carried out by the club a further inspection was undertaken and both riders and stewards were satisfied that the surface was suitable for racing. Race 1: NEVILLE GORDON MEMORIAL BENCHMARK 60 H’CAP – 1000M DAVEY – Declared a late scratching at 12:20pm due to transport difficulties. CLARAGH – Slowly into stride. Rider reported that the horse may not have appreciate the firm racing surface. HOPETOUN STREET – Slowly into stride. HIDDEN SEQUEL – Eased to obtain cover neat the 600m when wide on the track. Disappointed for a run and obliged to ease and shift out to obtain clear running near the 100m. Race 2: SANDBAR CITRUS QTIS MAIDEN PLATE – 1000M KARMA CHAMELEON was declared a late scratching at 2:28pm after kicking the barriers and injuring its off hind leg. Deductions of 7c for win bets and 8c for place bets were ordered on all successful tickets on the declaration of correct weight. SPECIAL THING – Slow to begin. PISTOL AND BOO – Slow to begin. HIGH RIDER – Reared and was slow to begin. Rider reported that the horse may not have appreciated the firm racing surface as the horse failed to stretch out and took no competitive part in the event. DAUNTING QUEEN – Slow to begin. RETURN FLIGHT – Made the 800m turn awkwardly and lost some ground. SUPER FREAK – Hung out on home turn and had to be steadied from heels. Trainer reported that the horse would now be sent for a spell as in his opinion the horse raced flat. Race 3: SEIDNER FAMILY CLASS B H’CAP – 1200M BLOOMERANG dislodged the rider enroute to the barriers and was declared a late scratching at 3:06pm, deductions of 10c win and 12c place were ordered prior to this scratching. NUSKEE PARKER broke through the barriers prior to the start and was declared a late scratching at 3:15pm, deduction of 3c win and 4c place were ordered for successful bet made following the scratching of BLOOMERANG but prior to NUSKEE PARKER. MISTER JUDGE – Broke through the barriers prior to the start, underwent a veterinary inspection and was cleared to start. Slow to begin. CHURCHILL DAWN – Broke through the barriers prior to the start before being inspected by the vet and cleared to start. CRAIGLEA CERTINA – Tightened for room and steadied near the 1000m. THE INTERN – Slow to begin. Race 4: AVANCE ACCOUNTANTS GAYNDAH CUP OPEN H’CAP – 1400M HANOVER SQUARE – Slow to begin. CLOUDS – Rider reported that the performance was disappointing and fealt that this could be attributed to the horse failing to handle the downward slope on the home turn. Post race vet found no abnormalities. Race 5: GRAND HOTEL BENCHMARK 50 H’CAP – 1400M LOCKOUT – Reared and was slow to begin. THIS IS LIVIN – Raced 4 wide without cover. Made home turn wide. TORONTO FLYER – Made home turn extremely wide.
