CANID – slow to muster early speed. Raced wide for majority. AVALANCE WARNING – when asked to comment on the below market performance app H English stated the mare after jumping well and racing in a forward position in the early stages failed to respond when placed under pressure from the 500 metres. Trainer G Richardson was of the opinion AVALANCHE WARNING had come to the end of its current preparation and it was now his intention to spell the mare. Race 2: MAIDEN PLATE 1200 Metres NAVILLUS STRYKER – after being loaded broke through the barriers and galloped a short distance before being restrained by its rider. Examined by the club Vet prior to being reloaded and cleared to start. QUATRO AMIGOS – app S Wilcock fined $100 for failing to claim her full allowance. Tightened near the 600 metres and lost ground. THUNDER CAVE – slow to begin. When asked to comment on the below market performance rider G Geran stated the gelding, which was having its first race start, raced greenly throughout and was not entirely comfortable in the prevailing track conditions. A post-race Vet examination of THUNDER CAVE revealed no significant abnormality other than a slow post-race recovery. MISTA LONGHORN – slow to begin. Laid in near the 600 metres despite the efforts of its rider and tightened QUATRO AMIGO. YOUR MY BOY BLUE – raced wide in the early and middle stages. App L Dillon was reprimanded for her use of the whip more than 5 times prior to the 100 metres. FABERGE LASS – rider R Faehr was reprimanded for use of the whip more than 5 times prior to the 100 metres. Following this event R Faehr, who was struck in the face by clod of dirt when riding in race one, was examined by QAS medical staff and stood down from his remaining rides. Changes were made as per the race day summary sheet. R Faehr was advised he must provide a medical clearance prior to resuming race riding. MASK STEPENNY – app B Mackie was reprimanded for use of the whip more than 5 times prior to the 100 metres. Race 3: CLASS B HDCP 1200 Metres BLACK ENVY – raced wide for majority. AKLAVIK – rider L McCoy reported the gelding was inclined to lay out at various stages of the event and was not entirely comfortable handling the prevailing track conditions. SERAMASA – app B Mackie was fined $100 for use of the whip more than 5 times prior to the 100 metres. Rider accidently dropped whip approaching 100 metres. MISTA MAYBE – as R Faehr was indisposed, stewards permitted B Derbyshire to ride the gelding 2kgs over its allotted weight when no other rider was available. A public announcement was made to this effect. Tightened on jumping and lost ground. Improved onto heels near the 150 metres and a short distance later obliged to shift out abruptly to improve. BIANCATAK – app H Phillips was reprimanded for use of the whip more than 5 times prior to the 100 metres. Race 4: BENCHMARK 60 HDCP 1900 Metres ARIGOLD – inclined to lay in under pressure in the early stages of the home straight. WALK TO THE BAR – raced 3 wide from the 1600 metres before progressing forward and leading the event from the 1200 metres. Race 5: OPEN HDCP 1400 Metres Following a heavy rain shower prior to, and during the running of this event, Stewards downgraded the track to a soft 7 retrospective to Race 5. No racing incidents Race 6: BENCHMARK 50 HDCP 1400 Metres DE BANDIT VEGA – slow to begin. Bled both nostrils post-race for first time. Connections were advised the gelding would be stood down from racing for 3 months and must trial satisfactorily before racing again. DON’T CHEAT CHARLIE – hampered leaving 200 metres when HOURGLASS TIME shifted out to improve. MEGASHOT – raced wide throughout. HOURGLASS TIME – shifted in leaving the 400 metres tightening DEMENSE which had to steadied. App L Dillion was advised to exercise more care in similar circumstances. Shifted out to obtain clear running leaving the 200 metres and hampered DON’T CHEAT CHARLIE. DEMESNE – tightened leaving the 400 metres and had to be steadied.
