Race 1: MCCITRUS BURNETT TO THE VALLEY B’Mark H’Cap 1000m

KEEP ON ROCKING – Slow to begin.

GOSSIAUX – Slow to begin.

GOLDEN STREET – Raced 3 wide without cover.

TORQUATO TASSO – Raced wide the majority, laid in under pressure over the concluding stages

RELNINO – Hung out rounding the home turn, trainer C Rogers was advised a warning would be placed on the mare’s racing manners.

LA BELLE LA BELLE – When questioned into today’s seemingly disappointing performance jockey H English stated it was in her opinion that the filly did not perform well due to the quick backup from its last start and was also of the opinion it did not appreciate today’s firm track conditions. A post-race veterinarian examination found no significant findings.


Race 2: BROWNS CITRUS QTIS MAIDEN 1000m

TEKKEN WARRIOR – Stewards permitted App J Morrow to ride 1kg over its allotted weight when no other suitable rider was available.

BEGIN – Raced wide throughout, jockey C Rogers was reprimanded under AR.132(7)(a)(ii)
for excessive use of the whip prior to the 100m.

HARD ENOUGH – Raced in restricted room from the 300m until approaching the 100m.

INTERFLORA EXPRESS – Dislodged its rider on the way to the barriers, trainer K Afford was advised a warning would be placed on the gelding’s pre-race manners. Raced wide in early and middle stages.

LIFE’S A WITCH – Jumped awkwardly.

MISSGOODYTWOSHOES – Shifted in on jumping away and lost ground.

OUR LAST PENNY – Raced wide for the majority, on return to scale jockey S Sweeney reported the mare resented the kickback.

WICKED GIRL – Raced wide throughout.

MR TYCOON – Began awkwardly.


Race 3: GRAND HOTEL OPEN H’Cap 1000m

After the running of race 3 the track was upgraded to a Good 3

AL’S BRIEFS – Slow to begin.

LIL RUBY ROSE - On return to scale jockey S Sweeney reported that the mare resented the firm surface of today’s track condition.

ALLENA – Raced 3 wide with cover

HE’S A MORAL – Raced 3 wide the majority

WORTHY HERO – Was slow to begin, when questioned in regards to the gelding’s seemingly disappointing performance, App J Morrow stated that it was his intention to lead today’s event however after being slow to begin which placed him much further back than he anticipated it was his opinion the gelding resented the kickback and never travelled comfortably, he further stated the firm track conditions also played a part.

Race 4: BURNETT AG SUPPLIERS B’Mark 60 H’Cap 1200m

Correct weight was delayed to allow stewards to view the photo finish to determine 4th placing between TIME OUT and JONDY JOY as the judge could not determine a margin. After viewing the photo, stewards were satisfied a dead heat was declared for 4th placing.

BEAUTIRAGE – Over raced in the early stages

MISTA BUSY – Disappointed for a run from the 300m until approaching the 100m

TIME OUT – Began awkwardly making heavy contact with another runner, hung out rounding the home turn, laid in over the concluding stages.

RENEWING HOPE – Slow to begin, raced was wide throughout.

JONDY JOY – Hampered by another upon jumping away



Race 5: TOP CITRUS B’Mark 55 H’Cap 1400m

The start was delayed when AIRPORT proved difficult to load.

DARK FORCE – Declared a late scratching at 3:12 pm due to the track upgrade.

AMERICAN SUMMER – Raced in restricted room for a short distance approaching the 900m

DIA VERNIN – Raced wide for the majority

AIRPORT – Slow to begin

HOVE ACTUALLY – Had to be momentarily steadied approaching the 900m when placed in restricted room.

A LITTLE WICKED – Stewards permitted App G Hayes to ride 2kg over its allotted weight when no other suitable rider was available. Upon jumping shifted in abruptly, commenced to weaken from the 800m and laid in under pressure in the straight. App G Hayes when questioned expressed his disappointment in the gelding’s performance, in his opinion the gelding did not appreciate the firm conditions of today’s track.
