Submissions were taken from representatives for trainer of first place KOHIKO Mr T Dougall, Mr R Hay trainer of second place LONERGY and Judges W Smith and S Grant. The interim placings were determined by the Chairman of Stewards and Judge S Grant as the horses crossed the line. As there was a malfunction with the photo finish equipment used by Judge W Smith there was no image taken of the finish to determine the winner or winning margin with this equipment. A back up video from a mobile phone which was set up beside the photo finish camera was able to be used when paused to provide all parties with an image of the horses crossing the line. A request was made by Mr Hay for the race to be declared a dead heat due to the malfunction of the photo finish equipment but the image from the mobile phone was clear that there was a margin between the first and second horses. After hearing submissions from all parties involved Stewards made their decision pursuant to rule AR214(1)(4)(a)(b) in that they were satisfied there was no evidence provided that the Judges had made a mistake and correct weight was declared on the numbers semaphored by the Judges.KOHIKO – Raced three wide throughout.COME CLEAN – Jumped out and bumped VICTORY LIGHTS at the start.VICTORY LIGHTS – Bumped on jumping.
