GENERAL
 
Trainer A. Campton was fined $300 pursuant to LR36(6)(a) for failing to scratch a dual acceptor within the prescribed time.
 
Race 1: VILLAGE ROADSHOW THEME PARKS MAIDEN HANDICAP 1900 M
 
I'M A RULER – Apprentice J. Williams reported that the gelding raced flat in today’s event. Trainer P. Robl advised that it would now be his intention to send the gelding for an immediate spell. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Apprentice J. Williams was reprimanded pursuant to AR132(7)(a)(ii) for using his whip on 7 occasions prior to the 100m.
 
FURTHERING – Began awkwardly. Over raced for the majority of the event. Raced wide throughout.
 
SAXON BRAVE – Shifted out at the start and bumped LICENCE TO THRILL.

VICTORY BEANS – Laid in under pressure in the home straight. Jockey A. Allen was fined $300 pursuant to AR132(7)(a)(ii) for using his whip on 7 occasions prior to the 100m.
 
DOUBLE QUICK – Raced keenly in the early and middle stages. Raced wide throughout. Jockey W. D’Avila was fined $300 pursuant to AR132(7)(a)(ii) for using his whip on 6 occasions prior to the 100m.
 
GOLD SAMURAI – Over raced in the early and middle stages.
 
LICENCE TO THRILL – Bumped at the start.
 
Race 2: SEA WORLD CLASS 1 HANDICAP 1900 M
 
The start was delayed approximately 3 minutes when TROPIC SANDS contacted and displaced the running rail when leaving the enclosure, underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was cleared to start.
 
BLUE SWIMMER – Began awkwardly and shifted out. Laid out rounding the first turn. Stewards inquired into an incident near the 900m where it appeared that BLUE SWIMMER lost ground sharply. After taking evidence from all riders and considering the comments from Apprentice E. Lang that her mount was inclined to lay out and resented racing between runners. Stewards whilst noting the evidence provided by apprentice E. Lang, were also critical of a minor shift from NICE WATER which was attempting to move away from the rail and therefore issued jockey M. Powell, the rider of NICE WATER a reprimand pursuant to AR131(a) in that he permitted his mount to shift out when insufficiently clear. Inclined to lay out over the final 900m. Trainer A. Perks advised Stewards that he would be sending the gelding for an immediate spell.
 
BLUSHING LUCAS – Over raced approaching the 1600m and shifted out despite the efforts of its rider. Continued to over race and was steadied from heels near the 1400m. Rounding the home turn, momentarily steadied from the heels of AIDEN which was taken out slightly by NICE WATER.
 
THE WELLIAN – Approaching the 1600m, raced in restricted room and was obliged to be steadied when BLUSHING LUCAS whilst over racing, shifted out despite the efforts of its rider, and CAPITEEL which shifted in marginally.
 
CAPITEEL – Passing the 1500m, steadied from heels whilst racing keenly.
 
AIDEN – Taken wider rounding the home turn.
 
NICE WATER – Connections advised that it would be the intention to lead if circumstances permit. Raced in a forward position. Jockey M. Powell was reprimanded pursuant to AR132(7)(a)(ii) for using his whip on 6 occasions prior to the 100m.
 
TROPIC SANDS – Hampered on jumping. Carried wide rounding the first turn when BLUE SWIMMER laid out.
 
PATTI WAGGIN – Reared as the start was affected and lost ground. Apprentice D. McGillivray was fined $300 pursuant to AR132(7)(a)(ii) for using his whip on 8 occasions prior to the 100m.
 
RENAULT – Tightened for room on jumping and lost ground.
 
Race 3: WARNER BROS MOVIE WORLD MAIDEN HANDICAP 1050 M
 
HARD FEED – Began awkwardly and shifted out.
 
EYE WANTED – Near the 800m, laid out.
 
DIAMENDO – Raced in restricted room near the 900m.
 
EMPRESS ZIGGY – Hampered shortly after the start. Raced wide throughout.
 
NOBLE STYLE – Began awkwardly. Laid out rounding the home turn. Jockey A. Allen was fined $300 pursuant to AR132(7)(a)(ii) for using his whip on 6 occasions prior to the 100m.
 
CONFIRM NOR DENY – Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination at the request of its rider on arrival at the barriers and was cleared to start.
 
BETTER PAGE – Began awkwardly. Raced wide throughout. Jockey W. D’Avila dropped his whip approaching the 250m.
 
Race 4: TOPGOLF CLASS 2 HANDICAP 1200 M
 
ANARCHY – Knuckled on jumping. Jockey J. Stanley reported that his mount wanted to hang out rounding the home turn, was inclined to get on one rein and for that reason he was unable to ride his mount out in his usual manner. Jockey Stanley also added that in his opinion the gelding did not appreciate racing on the synthetic surface. Trainer L. Hatch reported that he was disappointed in the gelding’s performance as he expected a forward showing and would consider not racing the gelding on similar surfaces in the future.
 
BOCHKAREVA – Blundered on jumping, dislodging jockey M. Cahill. Jockey M. Cahill was examined by the QAS officials and was cleared to fulfil his remaining engagements. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the mare to have cast its near fore plate.
 
JIMMY NEUTRON – Raced wide for the majority.
 
Race 5: WET'N'WILD BENCHMARK 60 HANDICAP 1050 M
 
I AM VOODOO – Had difficulty obtaining clear running in the early part of the home straight.
 
BID IN A HURRY (NZ) – Began awkwardly and lost ground.
 
IDONEUS – Approaching the 200m, bumped by ESTEEMED LADY which was taken outwards after bumping with I AM VOODOO. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
 
MAGURO – Raced wide throughout.
 
KABOOM – Began awkwardly and lost ground.
 
ESTEEMED LADY – Approaching the 200m, bumped by I AM VOODOO and shifted out.
 
Race 6: PARADISE COUNTRY RATINGS BAND 0 - 55 HANDICAP    1050 M
 
ARTIE'S DESTINY – Raced wide throughout. Laid in rounding the home turn.
 
MY DOG DIESEL – Raced wide throughout.

GALLERY MASTER – Jockey C. Meehan was reminded of his obligations in regards to using his whip in action that raises his arm above shoulder height.
 
ROTHERO ESSGEE – Blundered on jumping.
 
METER MAID – Raced wide throughout. Rounding the home turn, raced in restricted room when ARTIE’S DESTINY laid in and GRANDEUR ROSE which shifted out to improve.
 
GRANDEUR ROSE – Jockey M. Cahill reported that his mount was inclined to lay out.
 
RUSSIAN PINS – Connections advised that it is the intention for the mare to be ridden more forward if circumstances permit. Raced forward but caught wide throughout. Bumped rounding the home turn and became unbalanced.
 
MEMORIAL DAY – Raced wide throughout.
 
MISS HELMUT – Laid out approaching the home turn and bumped RUSSIAN PINS.
 
ANCHORAGE – Trainer I. Turner was fined $100 pursuant to LR67(1) for a late rider declaration. Slow to begin.
 
CUDDLES – Began awkwardly. Raced wide throughout.
 
Race 7: AUSTRALIAN OUTBACK SPECTACULAR BENCHMARK 58 HANDICAP 1540 M
 
AVENUE OF STARS – Apprentice E. Lang was fined $300 pursuant to AR132(7)(a)(ii) for using her whip on 8 occasions prior to the 100m.
 
PERNELL – Apprentice J. Williams was fined $300 pursuant to AR132(7)(a)(ii) for using his whip on 7 occasions prior to the 100m.
