GENERAL
 
Stewards approved the following jockeys to ride overweight.
Race 1 – Dale Smith plus 1kg.
Race 1 – Michael Cahill plus 1kg.
Race 6 – Michael Cahill plus 1/2kg.
 
 
Race 1: SUPERIOR PAK CLASS 3 HANDICAP 1900M
Due to an electrical malfunction, the barriers were activated manually.
 
Hadouken – Jockey N Callow reported at scale that his mount wanted to lay out throughout the event. Trainers’ representative for G Ellis, Mr P Robl, advised Stewards that it was now their intention to spell the gelding. Stewards advised Mr Robl that prior to resuming the gelding will also be required to trial to the satisfaction of Stewards.
 
Fine Ruby – Began awkwardly.
 
Triple Citizen – Due to a poor performance underwent post-race vet examination which revealed no apparent abnormalities. Trainer P Duff was advised that a warning due to poor performance would be placed against the mare.
 
Miss Pierpoint – Raced wide.
 
Race 2: GOLD COAST TYRE & AUTO CLASS 1 HANDICAP         1050M
Barriers were retested prior to the running of this race and were found to be in satisfactory working order.
 
Ready To Torque – Raced wide.
 
Almighty Rising – Slow to begin. Raced wide. Laid out rounding the home turn.
 
Anchorage – Slow to begin.
 
Race 3: PINK RIBBON RACEDAY SEP 16TH QTIS THREE-YEARS-OLD MAIDEN HANDICAP 1050M
 
Delarenta – Buffeted on jumping and lost ground.
 
Better Than Love – Began awkwardly and then bumped.
 
Soo Sweet – Began awkwardly and shifted out. Bumped near the 250m.
 
Betathaneva – Began very awkwardly and lost ground. Raced wide. Laid in under pressure in the home straight. When asked to comment on the filly’s performance Apprentice D McGillivray stated that in his opinion the filly resented the kickback.
 
Velvet – Near the 250m improved onto the heels of WHISKEY DANCER before shifting out bumping with SOO SWEET and became unbalanced. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant abnormalities.
 
Whiskey Dancer – Raced greenly when placed under pressure in the home straight.
 
 
Race 4: GOLD COAST ISUZU TRUCKS BM58 HANDICAP 2000M
The start of this race was delayed by 2 minutes due to southern events running late.

Bay Street – Raced very keenly in the early stages due to the slow tempo. When asked to comment on the performance, Apprentice S Callow stated that in her opinion the gelding was disadvantaged by the slow tempo of the event however when considering its overall performance was disappointed.
 
Blushing Lucas – Lost ground on jumping. Raced keen in the early stages. Apprentice J. Williams was fined $300 pursuant to AR132(7)(a)(ii) for using his whip on 7 occasions prior to the 100m.  
 
Daulat Tai Panaziz – Raced very keenly in the early stages due to the slow tempo. Approaching the 1300m Jockey M Cahill elected to let his mount stride forward due to the slow tempo and obtained the lead near the 1200m.
 
Race 5: COMPLETE WASTE SOLUTIONS AUSTRALIA MAIDEN HANDICAP 1540M
The start of this race was significantly delayed due to a trainer taking ill and requiring assistance from QAS.
 
DOUBLE QUICK was declared a late scratching at 3.10pm on the direction of Stewards after its trainer took ill. On declaration of correct weight stewards ordered all bets refunded and the following deductions to apply:
1st       REAL MINT – 30c win bets 22c place bets
2nd      ARCHERS REIGN – 16c place bets
3rd      HELEN’S DREAM – 21c place bets
 
Christmas Time – Jockey B Thornton reported at scale that the gelding felt awkward in its action. Underwent a post-race veterinary examination which revealed no significant abnormalities.
 
War Service – Slow to begin. Raced wide.
 
Darabaz – Laid in leaving the 200m.
 
She's Soo Good – Due to a poor performance underwent a post-race veterinary examination which revealed the mare to have bowed its near fore tendon. Stewards advised Trainer R Drysdale that a veterinary clearance would be required prior to it resuming racing.
 
Race 6: WEST-TRANS EQUIPMENT CLASS 2 HANDICAP 1540M
 
Shalatime – Stood flat footed. Over raced in the early and middle stages. Stable representative for Trainer J Wallace was advised that a warning would be placed on the mare.
 
The Love Of Mary – Was restrained from the wide barrier as the start was affected to obtain a position near the rail.
 
Lago Di Braies (NZ) – Very slow to begin.
 
Race 7: JR STEPHENS & CO MAIDEN HANDICAP 1200M
 
Nutso – Began awkwardly, then tightened and lost ground.
 
Money Man – Performed below market expectations. When questioned by Stewards regarding the gelding’s performance Jockey D Smith stated that in his opinion his mount resented the kickback and would appreciate a step up in distance.
 
Trust A Kitty – Began awkwardly.
 
Supidocharged – Slow to begin.Approaching the finishing line improved onto heels and was steadied.
 
Confirm Nor Deny – Began awkwardly.
 
Gold 'N' Glamorous – Apprentice E Lang was dislodged when the filly became fractious in the barriers. Apprentice E Lang was assessed by QAS personnel and cleared to fulfill her engagement. Co Trainer Toby Edmonds was fined $200 pursuant to AR227(a) in that he was negligent in following procedure declaring an overweight rider.
 
Giselle's Gamble – Slow to begin. Underwent a post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant abnormalities.
 
Gris Amour – Slow to begin.
 
Uploads – Raced in restricted room near the 900m then raced ungenerously for some distance. Near the 250m was disappointed for a run GOLD N GLAMAROUS and CONFIRM NOT DENY obliging its rider to shift out to secure clear running. At the finishing line was steadied when racing to the inside of THE BRONX BULL which shifted in. Jockey A Allen reported at scale that his horse raced greenly throughout the event.
 
Race 8: NOVOTEL BRISBANE AIRPORT BM58 HANDICAP 1200M
 
Moss Job – On pulling up put in an awkward stride. A post-race vet examination found the mare to be lame in the off foreleg and was treated on course. Trainer T Lambourn was advised that the mare would require a veterinary clearance prior to racing again. Trainer T Lambourn was fined $100 pursuant to LR67(1) for failing to declare a rider by the prescribed time.
 
My Dog Diesel – Approaching the 800m commenced to over race, improved onto heels and was steadied.
 
Sardegna – Slow to begin.
 
Virgo Vision – Performed below market expectation. Jockey A Allen reported that in his opinion the gelding resented the kickback.
