Race 7: COMMERCIAL KITCHEN COMPANY BENCHMARK 55 HANDICAP 1540M
Stewards considered an objection lodged by apprentice C. Collis, rider of second placed BREAKING GROUND, against the winner REFORMIST, ridden by P. Hammersley, alleging interference over the final 200m. On the evidence, it was established that REFORMIST shifted in near the 200m, carrying BREAKING GROUNG in slightly. Thereafter, BREAKING GROUND had an unimpeded run the end of the race. As Stewards were of the view that despite any interference received by BREAKING GROUND, that gelding would not have finished ahead of REFORMIST at the end of the race, therefore, the objection was dismissed and correct was declared on the numbers 4,1,7.3.
