GENERAL
 
As D Peisley was ill and App J Franklin was not riding for personal reasons, riding changes were made as per the Race Day summary sheet. D Peisley will require a medical clearance prior to his next race or trial ride.
 
Trainer A Campton was fined $400 under LR67(1) for the late declaration of riders in Race 4 and Race 7 (4 runners).
 
Trainer A Chua was fined $100 under 36(6)(a) for failing to scratch MY DOG DIESEL from its dual engagement in Race 6 by the prescribed time.
 
SIX OF ONE was declared a late withdrawal from Race 3 at 9:30am on veterinary advice due to an elevated temperature. Trainer B Aherns was advised the filly will require a veterinary clearance prior to racing again.
 
 
Race 1: THE GRANT GOLDIE MEMORIAL CLASS 1 PLATE      1050 M
 
DOMINANCE – Lunged forward and contacted the front gates prior to the start being effected. Raced wide for the majority of the event.
 
FOREBEARS – Near the 800m crowded for room and steadied from the heels of VELOCE METEOR (P Hammersley), which shifted in when not fully clear before then being corrected. Rider P Hammersley was severely reprimanded under AR131(a) for careless riding in this incident. App C Sutherland momentarily lost use of his whip near the 100m before quickly regathering.
 
QICKWIT – Lunged forward and contacted the front gates prior to the start being effected. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a laceration to the upper lip.
 
LITTLE CHARMER – Lunged forward and contacted the front gates prior to the start being effected.
 
REMLAPS ANGEL – Raced wide for the majority of the event.
 
 
Race 2: MCCAIN SURECRISP - THEY'RE SUPER CRISPY QTIS TWO-YEAR-OLD MAIDEN HANDICAP 1050 M
 
TELL NO GOSSIP – Jumped in at the start and bumped BLIND DESIRE. Held up for clear running between the 350m and 200m.
 
HEADLINE LEGEND – On arrival at the barriers, the saddle on the horse was readjusted. Slow to begin and lost ground.
 
MR BUBBALUSKI – Began awkwardly. Raced wide for the majority of the event.
 
UPTURN – Fractious leaving the enclosure and when proceeding to the barriers. Weakened noticeably from the 200m. Apprentice J. McMurray reported the gelding raced greenly but could offer no explanation as to why it weakened quickly in the straight. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormality.
 
SOWILO SIREN – When under pressure in the home straight laid in.
 
BLIND DESIRE – Bumped at the start. Near the 100m, steadied when crowded for room between AIMA SUN and HEADLINE LEGEND, both of which shifted ground.
 
MERRON DARCY – Slow to begin. Attempted to buck shortly after the start. Trainer L Anderson was advised the filly must Officially trial to the satisfaction of Stewards prior to its next race start.
 
 
Race 3: THE CARL WAUGH QTIS THREE-YEAR-OLD MAIDEN PLATE 1200 M
 
BRAVE COWBOY BILL – Near the 900m crowded for room and obliged to steady when HOLLYWOOD EPIC (A Thompson), which shifted in when not quite clear. A Thompson was severely reprimanded for careless riding under AR131(a) in this incident.
 
HOLLYWOOD EPIC – Bumped at the start.
 
BEEN A SECRET – Reluctant to load into the barriers. Jumped in at the start and bumped HOLLYWOOD EPIC.
 
BUCKS FIZZ – Raced keenly in the middle stages of the event.Held up for a short distance near the 250m.
 
 
Race 4: EQUISSAGE THERAPY AUSTRALIA MAIDEN PLATE 1100 M
 
COOL MAN SHOW – Blundered on jumping away and lost ground. Raced wide for the majority of the event.
 
SEEYA LATER GATER – Slow to begin. Raced keenly for a short distance near the 900m.
 
FLYING ASTERN – Raced keenly in the early stages.
 
DESERT COUGAR – Slow to begin and then hampered shortly after when COOL MAN SHOW shifted out.
 
WINDFLOWER – Near the 800m raced ungenerously when being restrained and shifted out. Rider A Thompson was reminded of his obligations under AR132(6)(c) regarding use of the whip on a horse out of contention.
 
 
Race 5: PETER 'PEDRO' GALLAGHER MEMORIAL BENCHMARK 70 HANDICAP 1050 M
 
THE BILLIONAIRE – From the wide barrier restrained at the start to a rearward position.Raced wide for the majority of the event.
 
DEEP BLAST – Fractious prior to the start being effected.
 
CLOVER'S PRINCE – Raced wide for the majority of the event.
 
MY DOG DIESEL – Held up for clear running for the majority of the home straight and consequently went to the end of the race unable to be tested.
 
BULSARA – Near the 350m App S Willis momentarily dropped her nearside rein before quickly regathering. Passing the 200m, shifted out under riding. App S Willis was advisedly spoken to in respect to allowing her mount to shift ground in this manner.
 
CADERAS – Passing the 200m, momentarily held up before shifting back to the inside to secure clear running.
 
 
Race 6: INGHAMS FOODSERVICE - THE CHICKEN NUGGET BENCHMARK 62 HANDICAP 1200 M
 
NEOCLASSICISM – Raced wide for the majority of the event.
 
SCRIPT WRITER – Slow to begin. Laid in under pressure in the home straight and consequently steadied from the heels of NEOCLASSICISM passing the 100m. Raced wide for the majority.
 
BREMERS – When asked about the performance, rider S Galloway reported the gelding came off the bit passing the 700m, was disappointing from that point onwards and it was for this reason, he eased BREMERS out of the race passing the 200m. He added the gelding may have come to the end of its current preparation. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
 
LUCKY BEAN – Near the 1000m hampered and steadied when EUPHRATES DREAM was taken in by BREMERS, which lay in.
 
DUSTYIAM – Began awkwardly and lost ground.
 
PRESS LIGHTLY – Raced wide for the majority.
 
 
 
Race 7: THE LUCAS MILLOTT MEMORIAL BENCHMARK 58 HANDICAP 1540M
 
GENETIC FREAK – Began awkwardly.
 
WATERMELON – After being slow to begin was then crowded between runners and lost ground.Laid in when placed under pressure in the home straight.
 
BAUHAUS – Jumped out at the start and bumped BELLE’S BOY.
 
TUQIRI – Checked passing the 900m. At a subsequent inquiry App A Graham pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding pursuant to AR131(a) in that approaching the 900m she permitted BELLE’S BOY to improve to the inside of MISS SHU, which resulted in TUQURI being tightened for room and eventually checked. App A Graham’s permit to ride in races was suspended for a period of 10 days to commence midnight 5th August up to and including midnight 15th August 2024. In assessing penalty stewards took into account A Graham’s guilty plea, good record, her status as an apprentice and consideration to QRIC penalty guidelines.
 
BELLE'S BOY – Bumped at the start.
 
COME ON EILEEN – Began awkwardly and lost ground.
 
MISS SHU – Raced wide in the early stages of the event.
 
KASEAR – Checked near the 1400m when racing in restricted room to the inside of GENETIC FREAK and to the outside of JUMEIRAH TRIANGLE, which laid out marginally and contacting the hindquarters of KASEAR.
 
DANCE BABE – Slow to begin.
 
JUMEIRAH TRIANGLE – Laid out rounding the 1400m turn, brushed on the hindquarters by KASEAR, and shifted out.
 
LYNDALL – Slow to begin.
