SUPPLEMENTARY REPORT

Gold Coast 5/10/2024 Race 8:  Co - Trainer T. Edmonds advised that subsequent to this performance, BARASSI had undergone throat surgery and would now be spelled.
 
GENERAL
 
Race 6: Trainer J. Bellamy was fined $100 pursuant to LR 67(1) for failing to declare a rider for CAPITAL BOSS by the prescribed time.
 
 
Race 1: QUALITY CONCRETE RECYCLING MAIDEN PLATE  1540 M
 
FAST DA – Raced three wide in the early stages.
 
WHISKY TYCOON – Began awkwardly.
 
COCO JEWEL – Raced keenly when leading.
 
SHE'LL GO BOOM – Slow to begin.
 
 
Race 2: GOLD COAST CONCRETE RECYCLING MAIDEN HANDICAP  1200 M
 
The start of this event was slightly delayed due to MEASURED rearing over upon entering the track and dislodging apprentice J. Hampson. The mare was subsequently declared a late withdrawal at 1:37pm. Trainer A. Chau was advised that MEASURED would be required to Officially trial to the satisfaction of Stewards prior to racing again.
 
Prior to the declaration of correct weight, Stewards declared all bets placed on MEASURED to be refunded with the following deductions:
 
1st – DELIBES - 19c win, 21c place
2nd – PEARL IN HAY - 13c place
3rd – ANOTHERLOVELYDAY - 21c place
 
As a result of being dislodged, apprentice J. Hampson sustained a hand injury and was transferred to hospital for further treatment. Apprentice Hampson will require a medical clearance prior to riding again.
 
BERAJONDO – Slow to begin. Over-raced in the early stages.
 
MEANASENKO – Began awkwardly. Over-raced in the early stages.
 
ELEANOR NANCY – Began awkwardly. Hung out rounding the home turn. Rider M. Cahill reported the filly travelled well, however; commenced to hang out approaching the home turn and was disappointing in its finishing effort. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings.
 
DELIBES – Raced wide throughout.
 
 
Race 3: HAPPY BIRTHDAY MARLYN BURTENSHAW BENCHMARK 68 HANDICAP  1200 M
 
DEMITASSE – Began awkwardly.
 
CADERAS – Began awkwardly
 
WHISKEY DANCER – Began awkwardly. Over-raced in the early stages.
 
 
Race 4: THANKYOU SHERI COOK BM65 HANDICAP  1540 M
 
AVENUE OF STARS – Began awkwardly.
 
SHADYVALE STORM – Began awkwardly.
 
WONFORWAZZA – Slow to begin.
 
TOROVISTA – Began awkwardly. Laid out rounding the home turn.
 
Race 5: THANKYOU MARLENE COOK BM58 HANDICAP  1900 M
 
CHERBOURG – Made the crossing at the 1400m awkwardly.
 
YA LOVE HER – Raced wide until the 1300m.
 
NO DOUBLE DIPPING – Held up from the 400m to the 300m.
 
SEEYA LATER GATER – Over-race in the early stages.
 
CHAMPAGNES ON ME (NZ) – Began awkwardly
 
WITH DIAMONDS – As Apprentice J. Hampson was injured and with no apprentice available Stewards permitted J. Taylor as the replacement rider. Began awkwardly. Rider J. Taylor reported the mare did not travel comfortably at any stage of the event. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings. Trainer D. Bougoure advised he would consider sending the mare for a spell.
 
COME ON EILEEN – Began awkwardly. Raced wide in the early stages before being permitted to stride to the lead approaching the 1500m. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings. Trainer J. Sweeney advised he would likely send the mare for a spell.
 
Race 6: ROSS ( TOP GUN ) COOK BM55 HANDICAP  1540 M
 
EXPOSITION - As Apprentice J. Hampson was injured and with no suitable apprentice available, Stewards permitted S. Cormack as the replacement rider. Rider S. Cormack was reprimanded pursuant to AR 131(b) for failing to ride his mount out to the finish of the event.
 
GENERAL BARCA – Raced in restricted room approaching the 800m.
 
DEVINE FALLS – Hung in approaching the 800m. Commenced to weaken from the 700m. Hung in approaching the 500m. Trainer G. Sitek was advised a warning would be placed on the stallion.
 
INDENTED HEAD – Began awkwardly.
 
MAGIC OF MILLO - Made the crossing at the 1400m awkwardly. Raced in restricted room approaching the 400m.
 
SHOTGUN DIVA – Over-raced in the middle stages. Steadied from heels leaving the 800m and then a short distance later checked. Apprentice S. Champkin was reprimanded pursuant to AR 132(7)(a)(i) for using her whip in consecutive strides prior to the 100m.
 
Race 7: COASTAL TIPPER HIRE CLASS 1 HANDICAP  1050 M
 
ARCHERS REIGN – Began awkwardly and shifted in. Over-raced in the early stages. Raced wide throughout.
 
BUN IN THE OVEN – Bumped at the start and was taken inwards.
 
SOUTH BOAMBEE - Began awkwardly. Tightened between runners shortly after the start and lost ground.
 
MADAME PEARL'S – Laid in under pressure over the concluding stages.
 
ROCK MELODY – Laid out under pressure over the concluding stages.
 
THE BELL JAR – Raced wide throughout. Apprentice S. Champkin was reprimanded pursuant to AR131(b) for failing to ride her mount out to the finish of the event.
