As N. Seymour was indisposed stewards permitted rider replacements as per the attached Stewards Raceday Summary.
Race 1: Renew Your GCTC Membership Maiden H'Cap - 1200m
1st - Ross Henry 2nd - Gallant Archer 3rd - Sea of Knowledge 4th - Keave House
GALLANT ARCHER was slow to move losing ground.
SEA OF KNOWLEDGE jumped awkwardly.
AHWEN was inclined to hung out throughout.
Near the 1000 metres when steadied SEA OF KNOWLEDGE threw it's head in the air and at the 600 metres was steadied from the heels of POINTING NORTH.
Race 2: Surf Club Tallebudgera Maiden QTIS 2YO Division 1 Plate - 1200m
1st - Kaindara Gold 2nd - Lady Monashee 3rd - Vital Page 4th - Money On Spec
At the start ARMAIZES and IRISH GENERAL were slow to move losing ground.
Near the 600 metres VITAL PAGE shifted out and bumped PEE JAY'S HERO.
Near the 400 metres CIVILIAN rolled in bumping PEE JAY'S HERO.
WITCHY POO hung out in the straight inconveniencing ARMAIZES which was attempting a run between WITCHY POO and IRISH GENERAL and came into contact with IRISH GENERAL on two (2) occasions.
MONEY ON SPEC was inclined to lay out rounding the home turn.
The saddle on VITAL PAGE shifted sideways during the running of the race.
The Club's veterinary surgeon reported on return to the enclosure that BAY WAVES had sustained a laceration above the off hind hock.
Race 3: Burleigh Town Tavern QTIS 2YO Division 2 Plate - 1200m
1st - Beaucappa 2nd - Strawberry Malt 3rd - Nugget Supreme 4th - Supreme Cocktail
At the start EASILY DONE dwelt losing some ground.
Shortly after the start LITTLE KARROO and STRAWBERRY MALT bumped. LITTLE KARROO then shifted in brushing SHEWHOMUSTBEOBEYED.
Near the 950 metres LITTLE KARROO which was hanging in tightened SHEWHOMUSTBEOBEYED in onto HOTEL CALIFORNIA which was forced to ease losing ground.
Approaching the 400 metres TEE DYNASTY which was racing greenly shifted out bumping HOTEL CALIFORNIA.
The Club's veterinary surgeon reported that SHINKO FORTUNE pulled up lame in the near fore leg. Trainer B. Sutton was informed to produce a veterinary certificate of soundness before starting SHINKO FORTUNE again.
SHEWHOMUSTBEOBEYED lost it's near fore plate during the event.
Race 4: St Bernards Hotel Maiden 3YO & Upwards Plate - 1800m
1st - Tasman Flyer 2nd - Rose Hussar 3rd - Craiglea Butch 4th - Battle Lover
At the start IRISH FLAME dwelt losing ground.
ROSE HUSSAR jumped out at the start and bumped LOVER FAIR onto YICKADEE.
WOODSMOKE travelled wide in the early stages of the race.
CRAIGLEA BUTCH raced ungenerously in the early stages and near the 200 metres was momentarily held up for a clear passage.
When questioned jockey W. Wheatley stated LOVER FAIR was inclined to lay in throughout. The Club's veterinary surgeon reported that LOVER FAIR returned to the enclosure with an abrasion to the near hind bumper and was suffering from mild respiratory distress. Mr B. Hill representing trainer G. Ryan was informed to produce a veterinary certificate before starting LOVER FAIR again.
Race 5: Merrimac Tavern Class 3 H'Cap - 1300m
1st - Lillabiddy 2nd - Possum 3rd - Gypsy Minx 4th - Opposite
At the start VULCAN EXPRESS jumped awkwardly.
Near the 950 metres OPPOSITE brushed the rail.
Near the 250 metres OPPOSITE steadied from the heels of UP TRUMPS which shifted inwards.
Trainer L. MacPherson was fined the sum of $200.00 after pleading guilty under AR140B(3) for presenting OPPOSITE in the enclosure without blinkers.
Race 6: Benowa Tavern Class 2 H'Cap - 900m
1st - Carry On Meroo 2nd - Onedin Line 3rd - Fine Sequal 4th - Dump 'N' Burn
From it's wide barrier FINANCIAL was forced to cover extra ground.
At the start LITTLE MISS DAISY jumped out bumping IPAY onto MISS DA NANG. Shortly afterwards LITTLE MISS DAISY shifted in inconveniencing RARE PROSPECT.
RECHARIA'S GIRL hung out in the straight placing App. R. Plumb at a disadvantage riding his mount out.
The breast plate on FINANCIAL broke during the running of the race.
Race 7: Rotary Club of Surfers Paradise Mockridge Memorial Colts & Geldings Class 1 H'Cap - 1400m
1st - The Cavern Club 2nd - Deauville 3rd - Mezzegie 4th - Sir Karoo
CASH ALL OVER which was found to be lame in the off hind after being inspected by the Club's veterinary surgeon was declared a late withdrawal at 3.06 p.m. Prior to the announcement of correct weight all monies invested on CASH ALL OVER were ordered to be refunded. All winning bets were ordered to be paid less 2 cents in the dollar for a win and 2 cents in the dollar for a place on the face value of the ticket. Trainer T. Hutcheson was informed to produce a veterinary certificate of soundness before starting CASH ALL OVER again.
Approaching the 900 metres FORCE OF LOVE and ROARING HOME bumped.
Near the 800 metres KOMATIPOORT shifted out forcing SUITED DANE wider on the track which was then forced to cover extra ground for the remainder of the race.
Near the 700 metres MEZZEGIE steadied from the heels of ROARING HOME.
SALTY BAY and THE CAVERN CLUB raced wide in the middle stages of the event.
Near the 600 metres SIR KAROO steadied from the heels of GOLD EXPRESS.
Race 8: Conrad Jupiters Fillies & Mares Class 1 H'Cap - 1400m
1st - Amused 2nd - Bertha 3rd - Alaana's Song 4th - Oriental Peace
SHANI'S CROWN jumped in at the start bumping IRRESISTIBELLE.
WESTERN SPARKLE jumped in bumping MISS CICERAO.
ORIENTAL PEACE jumped awkwardly.
Near the 600 metres the riderless SEQACY shifted in tightening ORIENTAL PEACE onto WESTERN SPARKLE and MISS HAWKINS which was forced to check losing ground.
Near the 200 metres the riderless SEQUACY shifted in inconveniencing ORIENTAL PEACE.
Stewards adjourned an inquiry into the reason D. Tanti was dislodged from SEQUACY and App. M. Spriggs being dislodged from IRRESISTIBELLE near the 1200 metres.
The Club's veterinary surgeon reported that IRRESISTIBELLE sustained lacerations and abrasions to the off fore leg and SEQUACY had sustained lacerations to the inside of the off hind and near hind legs.
Race 9: Imperial Hotel Class 6 H'Cap - 1800m
1st - Chickadee 2nd - Timesto 3rd - British Storm 4th - Argyle Gem
As A. Townsend was declared the rider on SUNFAIR and TAKE A SHOT in this race he was replaced by L. Deguara as the rider of SUNFAIR.
As D. Tanti was injured in the fall in Race 8 B. Swanton replaced him as the rider of TIMESTO
KID DE LAGO dwelt when the gates were released losing ground.
TIMESTO raced wide in the early stages of the event.
Near the 1500 metres MISS LA TAR steadied from the heels of ADILLO ADILLO.
BRITISH STORM travelled wide for the major part of the race.
BRITISH STORM cast it's near fore plate during the event.
