SUPPLEMENTARY REPORTS:

A. Gillett was fined the sum of $200.00 under LR85(b) in that he rode trackwork whilst being an unlicensed person.


Race 1: Free Family Fun Day 7 January QTIS 2YO Class 1 H'Cap - 1200m
1st - I Do Believe 2nd - City Lights 3rd - Femmebot 4th - Yield Curve

CITY LIGHTS (D. Browne) began awkwardly losing ground.

PRINCESS NORMA (J. McKinnon) was tightened for room at the start between COFFEE TIME (App. S. Drake) and FEMMEBOT (App. D. Ballard) which began awkwardly and shifted out.

Shortly after the start COFFEE TIME and I DO BELIEVE (C. Whiteley) made contact when both horses shifted ground.

Near the 1000 metres COFFEE TIME which was inclined to overrace had to be steadied off the heels of I DO BELIEVE which shifted in. C. Whiteley the rider of I DO BELIEVE was advised to exercise more care when shifting ground. As a result COFFEE TIME commenced to hang out for the majority of the event.

PRINCESS NORMA raced greenly in the middle stages.

PRINCESS NORMA had to be steadied near the 600 metres after being disappointed for a run between COFFEE TIME and CITY LIGHTS.

FEMMEBOT was held up for clear running leaving the 400 metres until near the 200 metres and then shifted out abruptly to obtain clear running.

CITY LIGHTS was inclined to lay in over the concluding stages.



Race 2: 3 Weeks To Magic Millions 3YO Maiden H'Cap - 1000m
1st - Shantreusse 2nd - Creative Sounds 3rd - Dance Hunter 4th - Glimpses

Trainer G. Heinrich was fined the sum of $100.00 under LR70 for failing to declare a rider for SHANTREUSSE by the prescribed time.

On return to scale stewards considered an objection lodged by D. Browne the rider of CREATIVE SOUNDS which finished second against SHANTREUSSE (D. Ballard) being declared the winner on the grounds of alleged interference over the final 150 metres. After taking evidence from all parties and viewing the official video film stewards were of the opinion that the degree of interference suffered to CREATIVE SOUNDS did not warrant the placings to be amended and therefore dismissed the objection and correct weight was posted. At a subsequent inquiry D. Ballard the rider of SHANTREUSSE pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under AR137(a) in that he allowed his mount to shift in near the 50 metres causing CREATIVE SOUND to be checked. D. Ballard's licence to ride in races was suspended for a period of seven (7) meetings to commence midnight Wednesday 28 December 2005 and to expire midnight Friday 6 January 2006.

KARRA CROWN (B. Swanton), NOONJEE (D. Stanley) and TRIOLOGY (T. Treichel) were tightened at the start between BUCKBEAK (C. Whiteley) which shifted out and SHANTREUSSE which shifted in.

LADY ASHCOMB (D. Coleman) began awkwardly and soon after the start attempted to buck and was eased out of the race. At a subsequent enquiry J. Hunter the trainer of LADY ASHCOMB was advised the filly must perform in an official barrier trial to the satisfaction of the stewards prior to its next start.




Race 3: Emirates Ladies Day - 11 January 3YO & Up Maiden Plate - 1800m
1st - Lion's Reign 2nd - Commands Respect 3rd - Riccolo 4th - Beau Regard

TAWNACITY (D. Craven) and BUNDAGEREE (App. D. Ballard) made contact at the start when both horses began awkwardly.

BUNDAGEREE raced wide throughout the event.

T. Treichel the rider of LION'S REIGN was found guilty of a charge of careless riding under AR137(a) in that near the 350 metres he allowed his mount when being ridden along to shift out bumping MORETON MAGIC (N. Day) which became unbalanced and shifted out taking BUNDAGEREE onto the heels of RICCOLO (D. Browne) causing that runner to be checked. THEATRE LOVER (App. M. Morris) which was following was also inconvenienced in this incident. T. Treichel's licence to ride in races was suspended for a period of seven (7) meetings to commence midnight Wednesday 28 December 2005 and to expire midnight Sunday 8 January 2006.

When questioned regarding the poor performance of TAWNACITY jockey D. Craven stated that the gelding had travelled well in the early and middle stages however, failed to respond to his riding from the 600 metres. Trainer H. Norman stated that the horse had worked well leading up to today's event and was unable to offer any excuses. Mr Norman gave an undertaking to report to stewards should anything come to his notice that may have affected the horse's performance today. Mr Norman further added that he would be suggesting to the owners that the horse may be in need of a spell. A postrace veterinary examination of TAWNACITY failed to reveal any abnormalities and the gelding was sent to be swabbed.



Race 4: The Carnival Is About To Begin Colts, Geldings & Entires Class 1 H'Cap - 1400m
1st - Fame And Finesse 2nd - Mr Rumpole 3rd - Goggler 4th - Stroh

FAME AND FINESSE lost it's near fore plate enroute to the barriers which was unable to be found. As a result stewards permitted FAME AND FINESSE to race without its front racing plates.

BROWN BRIDGE (W. Wheatley) was slow to begin.

MR RUMPOLE (T. Treichel) began awkwardly.

LANGLAW (N. Day) began awkwardly after being inconvenienced by the inside barrier gate which sprung back. This matter was brought to the starter's attention.

Approaching the 1200 metres LANGLAW commenced to overrace then shortly after shifted out taking MR RUMPOLE wider on the track.

LANGLAW raced ungenerously for the majority of the event.



Race 5: Go Girls Bubbly Lounge 11 January Maiden H'Cap - 1300m
1st - Catbird Seat 2nd - Grigingly 3rd - Smarty Dane 4th - Aura Of Gold

BUCKALEENIE (A. Best) and STRONG AND GENTLE (A. Erhart) were tightened for room at the start between INDOMATO (N. Day) which began awkwardly and shifted out and ROSE OF DANROK which jumped in.

At the start ROSACEOUS (W. Wheatley) was tightened between COMMAND AND HOPE (App. D. Ballard) and GRIGINGLY (D. Barron) when both horses shifted ground.

Approaching the 1200 metres CATBIRD SEAT (C. Whiteley) became unbalanced and shifted out abruptly tightening COMMAND AND HOPE onto ROSACEOUS. PRINCE RHYTHM (D. Green) which was racing to the outside of the heels of ROSACEOUS had to be steadied and shifted out to avoid that horse's heels.

ROSACEOUS raced wide throughout the event.

Near the 600 metres BUCKALEENIE shifted out taking PRINCE RHYTHM wider on the track. SANDWICH SHORT (M. Paget) which was racing to the outside of PRINCE RHYTHM was also inconvenienced in this incident.



Race 6: Racing Rascals Free Kids Day 2 January Fillies & Mares Class 1 H'Cap - 1400m
1st - Call Girl 2nd - Bellachenka 3rd - Mexican Gem 4th - Momentously

CALL GIRL (C. Whiteley) began awkwardly.

Approaching the 850 metres LEA MARIS (T. Treichel) began to overrace and shifted out to avoid the heels of BELLACHENKA (App D. Ballard) which shifted out slightly, shortly after DEFROSTING (S. Apthorpe) improved the inside of LEA MARIS forcing that horse to race wide for the remainder of the race.

MEXICAN GEM (N. Day) was held up for a short distance after entering the home straight.




Race 7: Emirates Fashions On The Field - 11 & 14 January Class 4 H'Cap - 1000m
1st - Buddy Sequalo 2nd - Sparkle Express 3rd - Armament 4th - Affliction

Stewards inquired into the ride of App. C. Pay the rider of ELYSEE STRIKE and his lack of vigour in the early stages of the event. App. Pay stated that it was not his intention to get into a speed battle as he had expected there to be plenty of early speed in the race, however, the horse was unable to muster early speed. Stewards noted App. Pay's explanation but nonetheless admonished App. Pay and advised him to show more initiative in similar circumstances.

ELYSEE STRIKE began awkwardly losing ground.

RUBYRULE (T.Triechel) shifted in at the start brushing PERDEE (B. SWANTON).

AFFLICTION (D. Coleman) became unbalanced shortly after the start.

THE MOOPS (W. Wheatley) when racing in restricted room near the 600m had to be steadied when tightened for room by NORTHERN GAME (S. Shield) which shifted in. S. Shield the rider of NORTHERN GAME was advised to exercise more care when shifting ground.



Race 8: 10 Days To Carlton Draught Goldmarket Class 2 H'Cap - 1200m
1st - Daily Issue 2nd - Citico 3rd - Clangover 4th - Canadian Twilight

SENART (W. Wheatley) jumped in at the start making heavy contact with IN THE GOLD (B. Swanton).

Both KUDROW (A. Best) and SKIP LUNCH (S. Shield) raced wide throughout the event.



ALL WINNERS PLUS TAWNACITY WERE SENT TO BE SWABBED
