VINTAGE BEAUTY - When questioned as to the performance, App. A Sewell stated that the mare became awkward of its own accord passing the 900m and then was inclined to over-race during the middle stages.  App. Sewell added that leaving the 600m he was placed in restricted room to the inside of THE BURGLAR.  Notwithstanding these factors, he was disappointed with the mare’s overall performance.  Trainer T Edmonds will be interviewed at a later date.   A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities at the time of examination.

RED MAGIC - When questioned as to the tactics adopted, App. M Murphy stated that from the wide barrier he was instructed to jump the gelding out and settle where comfortable.  App. Murphy stated that when caught wide in the early stages he attempted to press forward to cross those runners inside him but was unable to do so resulting in being positioned 4 wide without cover for the majority of the event.  Stewards advised App. Murphy that he had erred in his riding in the early stages in that he should have elected to restrain the gelding in an effort to obtain cover.
