SUPPLEMENTARY:
From GCTC Saturday 17 September 2016 – Trainer L Garrett reported that x-rays taken of PRIMO PINTXO subsequent to the race revealed it to have a cracked off fore carpel bone and a bone chip in the off fore knee.  Ms Garrett indicated that the mare would now be retired from racing.  A veterinary certificate of fitness will be required if the mare was to race again.
 
Race 1: The Queensland Brain Institute Class 2 H’cap – 1200m
 
MINISTRY OF FEAR – Slow into stride.
 
Race 2: QBI Stroke Research Class 4 H’cap – 1400m
 
COURT’S STAR – Began awkwardly.  Over-raced during the early stages before shifting wider passing the 800m and raced wide from that point onwards.
 
TESTABILITY – Slow to begin.
 
I’LL TAKE THE JAG – When questioned as to the tactics adopted, Jockey D Griffin stated that his instructions were to obtain cover mid-field but in the event that there was no speed in the early stages to settle closer to the speed.  Jockey Griffin stated that he was able to take up a handy position in the early stages and when COURT’S STAR improved to his outside passing the 800m he was reluctant to shift out to improve at that point bearing in mind today’s impost of 60kgs. Jockey Griffin was also of the opinion that COURT’S STAR would continue to press forward thereby increasing the tempo of the race which would have been to his advantage, however, COURT’S STAR was unable to improve any further and as a result remained to his outside which resulted in him being badly held up rounding the home turn.  Stewards noted Jockey Griffin’s explanation.
 
Jockey D Griffin (I’LL TAKE THE JAG) was fined the sum of $100 for excessive use of his whip in a forehand manner prior to the 100m.
 
After the running of Race 2, the track was upgraded to a GOOD 3.
 
Race 3: QBI Stroke Recovery Maiden Plate – 2200m
Trainer D Graham was fined the sum of $100 for the late rider notification of Jockey B Looker on GOTTA GOODIE.
The start was delayed when BLACK LIGHT was fractious in the mounting enclosure and dislodged Jockey M Palmer.  BLACK LIGHT was subsequently cleared by the veterinary surgeon to start. Jockey Palmer was cleared by the club doctor to fulfil his engagement.
MAJO BO – Slow to begin.
MALDITA – Began awkwardly.  Upon straightening inconvenienced by BLACK LIGHT which shifted out.
LEGAL STATURE - Leaving the 1000m the saddle shifted forward resulting in its rider losing the use of both irons leaving the 900m after which the horse failed to take any competitive part in the event.
ELUSIVE ELEMENT - Upon straightening, steadied when placed in restricted room between MAJOR BO and MALDITA which was taken out by BLACK LIGHT.  Jockey M Palmer (BLACK LIGHT) was reprimanded and advised to exercise more care in similar circumstances.
SUNCANSING – Near the 250m steadied when disappointed for a run before shifting out to secure clear running.
App. M Murphy (ALCHEMY GOLD) was fined the sum of $100 for excessive use of his whip in a forehand manner prior to the 100m.
 
Race 4: QBI Neuroscience F&M Maiden H’cap – 1200m
CONSOLARI - Began awkwardly.
SUAVADO - Began awkwardly.  Raced wide throughout.
GALLANT GIRL - Slow to begin and a short distance later was tightened for room.
MASKED MODEL - Hung out when under pressure in the home straight.
KITTI PING - Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
Race 5: Toxfree Recyclling C,G&E Maiden H’cap – 1200m
CONQUERS ALL - Near the 1100m steadied when tightened for room between MANHATTAN JUSTICE and DALLINGER which shifted in.  Jockey J Morris (DALLINGER) was reprimanded and advised to exercise more care in similar circumstances.  Raced 3 wide without cover throughout. 
MANHATTAN JUSTICE - Leaving the 1100m bumped by CONQUERS ALL.
DODGE THE PRESS - Near the 1000m steadied from heels.
THE EXHIBITIONIST - Near the 800m steadied from the heels of DALLINGER.
TICKETS TO RIDE – Jockey J Missen reported that the gelding hung in when under pressure in the home straight.
DALLINGER – A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to have bled from both nostrils.  Trainer H Page was advised that the gelding would now be banned from racing for 3 months and must undertake a 1000m gallop to the satisfaction of stewards prior to its next race start.
Race 6: Toxfree – Smartskip Class 3 Plate – 900m
JERALY - Hampered shortly after the start.
QUELLE LIAISON – Jockey D Griffin reported that his saddle slipped backwards upon jumping away.  Near the 400m eased to avoid the heels of STAR STILETTO which shifted out to improve.
WHATEVER MISS - Raced 3 wide throughout.
SCARLET JANE - Raced wide throughout.
GOT NEWS FOR YOU - Raced wide throughout.
Race 7: Toxfree Waste Management Class 1 H’cap – 1400m
Trainer T Sears was fined the sum of $100 for the late rider notification of App. B Ainsworth on BELEM GREY.
CRIMSON GOD – Slow to begin.
THERMAL UNIT – Over-raced during the early stages.
HALLS CREEK – Raced 3 wide without cover throughout.
STILL THE SAME – Raced wide throughout.
TREASURE ISLAND – Held up for the majority of the home straight and went to the line without being fully tested.
DAGGA BOY – Near the 200m steadied when awkwardly placed at heels.
