GENERAL
 
As C. Small was indisposed due to injury stewards permitted rider changes as per the Stewards Race Day Summary.  
 
 
RACE 1: Insignia Homes Class 4 H’Cap – 1800m
1st: Harbor Springs   2nd: First Rain   3rd: Snapper   4th:  Caillebotte
 
HARBOR SPRINGS – Slow to begin.  Momentarily held up upon straightening before shifting out across the heels of another runner to obtain clear running.
 
LUNA TUNE – Slow to begin.
 
SNAPPER – Overraced in the early stages of the event.
 
TURKEY BEACH – Overraced in the early and middle stages and as a consequence hung out for the majority of the event.
 
CAILLEBOTTE – Held up rounding the home turn and again over the concluding stages.
 
 
 
RACE 2: Sky Racing QTIS 3YO Maiden Plate – 900m
1st: Lady Carolyn   2nd: Swiss Art   3rd: Believe It Or Not   4th:  Hidden Storm
 
The start was delayed when MALCRIADO underwent a veterinary examination after being kicked by another runner behind the barriers and cleared to start and then BEVEILE proved difficult to load.
 
BEVEILE – Difficult to load.  Raced extremely wide without cover throughout.
 
MALCRIADO – Began awkwardly.  Jockey A. Spinks reported that the gelding hung out for the majority of the event.
 
BELIEVE IT OR NOT – Began awkwardly.
 
CHEAP DATE – Slow to begin.
 
TORRE SARACINO – Near the 600m had to be eased when placed in restricted room to the inside of LOST SYMPHONY.  When questioned jockey L. Rolls expressed his disappointment in the gelding’s performance.  Jockey Rolls noted that the gelding was first up today, would be better suited when stepped up in distance and would derive a fitness benefit from today’s run.
 
CLICK ‘N’ COLLECT – Momentarily held up rounding the home turn. Raced wide throughout.
 
SWISS ART – Raced wide throughout.
 
LADY CAROLYN – Raced 3 wide without cover throughout.
 
KAWANA VIVA – Raced 4 wide without cover throughout.
 

RACE 3: Stephens And Tozer Maiden Plate – 1100m
1st: Resolute   2nd: Sugar Ray Red   3rd: Tony’s Princess   4th:  Bound To Me
 
The start was delayed when TONY’S PRINCESS cast an off fore plate and after being replated was cleared to start.
 
BARRAAJ – Trainer A. Plumb advised the intention would be for the horse to be ridden forward today if circumstances permit.  After being slow to begin settled at the rear of the field. 

NELLIE’S DELIGHT  – Connections advised the intention would be to take up a handy position with cover today if circumstances permit.  After beginning well was unable to obtain cover and settled in a leading position.
 
TONY’S PRINCESS – Began awkwardly.  Had to be eased from the heels of RESOLUTE approaching the winning post.
 
GOD’S LAW –  Reared as the start was effected and lost ground.  Trainer C. O’Neill was advised a further barrier certificate would be required prior to the gelding racing again.  A post race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
 
SUGAR RAY RED – Bumped shortly after the start and became unbalanced.
 
BOUND TO ME – Held up rounding the home turn.
 
MY GIRL CHAZ – Near the 150m had to be steadied when placed in restricted room between SUGAR RAY RED and TONY’S PRINCESS, which shifted out.  Jockey A. Spinks (TONY’S PRINCESS) was advised to exercise more care.
 
 
RACE 4: Xplore Resources Fillies & Mares Class 2 H’Cap – 1100m
1st: -Jadedfox   2nd: Highway Queen   3rd: Hidden Light   4th:  Lady Micaela
 
TRAMPERS – Cleared by the veterinary surgeon to start after being fractious in the enclosure and during the preliminary.  Trainer A. Williamson stated he would recommend to connections that the filly be retired.  Nonetheless, Mr Williamson was advised the filly must trial to the satisfaction of stewards should it race again.  Near the 700m had to be steadied from the heels of DUSTY.
 
MILITARY MISS – Slow to begin.  Raced 3 wide without cover for the majority.
 
FORBIDDEN KISSES – Began awkwardly and lost ground.
 
HIGHWAY QUEEN – Held up for clear running approaching the home turn and laid in in the early stages of the home straight.
 
 
RACE 5: Homes 4 Rent Colts, Geldings & Entires Class 2 H’Cap – 1100m
1st: It’s Vegas Baby   2nd: Hotel Coste   3rd: La Cigale   4th:  Manhattan Justice
 
LA CIGALE – Trainer D. Bougoure advised stewards the gelding underwent a throat operation following its last start and public announcements were made to this effect.  Held up rounding the home turn.  Bumped near the 200m and again leaving the 100m.
 
PURE INTELLIGENCE – Began awkwardly and was tightened for room shortly thereafter.
 
EMVEPEE – Steadied when tightened for room at the start.
 
HOTEL COSTE – Raced ungenerously for a short distance passing the 1000m.  Shifted in under pressure in the home straight.
 
THE BURGLAR – Hung out during the middle stages of the event.  Raced 3 wide without cover throughout.
 
MANHATTAN JUSTICE - Bumped near the 200m and again leaving the 100m.
RACE 6: Park Reserve Maiden Plate – 1400m
1st: Aqua Vite   2nd: Stellar Jewel   3rd: Kirin’s Lad   4th:  Two For The Road
 
TWO FOR THE ROAD – Bumped at the start.  Near the 1100m had to be steadied when tightened for room between MIGHTY IRISH and STELLAR JEWEL, which shifted in. App J. Guthmann-Chester (STELLAR JEWEL) was reprimanded for shifting in when not sufficiently clear. Raced wide without cover throughout.
 
BENZOIN – Bumped at the start.
 
SAGA DEL MAR – Near the 800m had to be eased from the heels of TWO FOR THE ROAD. Raced wide throughout.
 
KIRIN’S LAD – Held up rounding the home turn.
 
STELLAR JEWEL – Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
 
URUBAMBA – A post race veterinary examination of the mare, which commenced to weaken passing the 600m, revealed no abnormalities. Neither jockey C. Schmidt or the stable representative were able to explain the disappointing performance.  The stable undertook to advise stewards of any abnormality that may come to light following the race.
 
 
RACE 7: Xcela Wealth BenchMark 70 H’Cap – 1400m
1st: Red Scarlet   2nd: Uno Best   3rd: Panch Kalyan   4th:  Wearing Wings
 
NEARCTIC CHILLER - Trainer S. Kendrick was fined $200.00 for failing to declare S. Galloway as the rider.
 
ON DEMAND – Shortly after the start had to be steadied when tightened for room and as a consequence settled further back than anticipated.
 
WEARING WINGS – Bumped shortly after the start.
 
SOLDI DOMANI – Bumped shortly after the start.
 
M. Hellyer (PANCH KALYAN) was reprimanded for excessive use of the whip prior to the 100m.
 
 
RACE 8: Mortgage Choice Class 1 H’Cap – 1400m
1st: Tamrookum   2nd: Uh Oh   3rd: Gorada   4th:  Afton Prince
 
HALLS CREEK – Slow to begin.  When questioned regarding the performance App M. Murphy stated his instructions were to obtain a midfield position with cover.  App Murphy added that passing the 500m he was obliged to ride the gelding along in an effort to maintain his position, after which it failed to respond to his riding as expected and proved disappointing.  Trainer J. Morrisey noted that the gelding had gone 5 weeks since its last start and may take a fitness benefit from today’s run.  However, Mr Morrisey stated that should the gelding prove disappointing at its next start it would be his intention to then send it for a spell.  A post race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to have a slow post race recovery.
 
AFTON PRINCE – Held up rounding home turn. Shifted out under pressure over the concluding stages.
 
MOGUL – Hung in under pressure in the straight proving difficult to ride.  
 
QUITE MAGICAL – Hampered over the concluding stages by AFTON PRINCE, which shifted out.
 
UH OH – Raced wide without cover throughout.
