ARABIAN DANCER – The gelding suffered a bleeding attack during the event.  The gelding will incur a three month ban from racing under the provisions of AR53A.

Stewards enquired into an incident near the 900m which resulted in Jockey Doyle and Jockey Rolls being tightened for room and buffeted between runners.  After taking evidence from riders Jackson Morris, Luke Rolls, Ben Looker and Shannon Doyle, it was established that when approaching the 900m, runners to the inside of Jockey Doyle had shifted out slightly along with Jockey Looker on the outside shifting in and away from Jockey Morris which shifted in.  As Stewards could not be comfortably satisfied that any one rider had caused the interference, they reported the matter and took no further action.

BLACK CRUSADE - Raced wide without cover throughout.   Stewards questioned App. J Guthmann-Chester as to the reasons why he settled in a wide position when there appeared to be an opportunity to obtain a position with cover in the early stages. App. Guthmann-Chester stated that after travelling a short distance he was of the view that Jockey Mallyon was looking for a position with cover on the fence and therefore he would have shifted over to race outside MIA’S GOT CLASS, however, this did not eventuate and when MIA’S GOT CLASS stayed racing 3 wide he was caught 4 wide.  He further added that in hindsight and after watching the films he agreed with Stewards that it would have been a better option for him to have restrained and taken up a position with cover behind MIA’S GOT CLASS and REAL CLASSIC.  Stewards noted his explanation.
