RACE 1: Trackside Tapas Maiden H’cap – 1100m
1st: Social    2nd: Attila    3rd: Sidere    4th:  Araucaria
 
As Jockey M McGuren was unable take his ride due to transport difficulties, he was replaced on LUCKY GO LUCKY by Jockey C Whiteley.
 
The start was delayed when ARAUCARIA broke through the barriers prior to the start being effected.  The filly was restrained after a short distance, vetted and cleared to start.
 
ARAUCARIA – Began awkwardly.
 
SILVER BENTLEY - Slow to begin.
 
SPORTS REPORT - Began awkwardly and lost ground.
 
SIDERE - Over-raced during the early stages.  The saddle shifted passing the 300m placing the rider at a disadvantage for the remainder of the event.
 
CHARLIE’S DUST - Raced wide without cover throughout.  Shifted out under pressure in the home straight and over the concluding stages bumped WHOOSH.
 
WHOOSH - Bumped over the concluding stages. A swab sample was taken.
 
ATTILA - Obliged to race in restricted room passing the 100m.
 
RACE 2: Happy Birthday Peter Birtwell QTIS 2YO Maiden Plate – 1200m
1st: Triple Arrow    2nd: Dazzling Red    3rd: Yankee Tango    4th:  Catatumbo
 
YANKEE TANGO - Began awkwardly.  Jockey A Allen reported at scale that the colt raced greenly throughout.
 
MIGHTY HEART - Severely hampered on jumping away, tightened for room and lost ground.
 
GO DAISY - Began awkwardly, shifted out bumping another runner and in doing so became unbalanced.  Laid in under pressure over the final 200m.
 
TRIPLE ARROW - Bumped at the start.
 
TRESTRAIL - Approaching the 1100m steadied and lost ground when inconvenienced by PALM SPRINGS which shifted in and away from CATATUMBO.  Jockey M McGuren was at a loss to explain the filly’s disappointing performance, however, indicated that it may now be sent for a spell.  Trainer M Dunn confirmed the filly would now be sent for a spell.
 
EISEMANN - Approaching the 1100m bumped by TRESTRAIL.
 
ARCHIE BOY - Inconvenienced approaching the 1100m.
 
PALM SPRINGS – It was reported that the colt lost its near fore plate in running.
 
RACE 3: Race 3 – Canadian Club QTIS 3YO Fillies H’cap – 1200m
1st: Prue’s Angel    2nd: Zilitor    3rd: Social Vampire    4th:  Text Book
 
SOCIAL VAMPIRE - Began awkwardly.
 
TEXT BOOK - Began awkwardly.  Approaching the 600m steadied from heels.
 
GRACEFULLY CHIC - Began awkwardly.
 
VENETIAN BEAUTY - Slow to begin.
 
MARGO MAREE - Hampered at the start.  Raced wide throughout.
 
SHEZA YANKEE - Over-raced during the early stages.  Near the 400m steadied when placed in restricted room.
 
ZILITOR - Raced wide without over during the early and middle stages.
 
MUSGREY HILL - Hung out for the majority of the event and in doing so had to be steadied passing the 800m and again upon straightening when awkwardly placed at the heels of SHEZA YANKEE. A warning will be placed on the filly’s racing manners.
 
PURE’S ANGEL – It was reported that the filly cast its near fore plate in running.
 
RACE 4: Dracula’s Class 1 H’cap – 900m
1st: Jest Excel    2nd: Risen    3rd: Dead Heat – Don’t Play Around & Tony’s Princess
 
The start was delayed when BRAND WORKS was reluctant to proceed to the barriers and in doing so cast an off fore plate.  The filly was re-plated behind the barriers.
 
BRAND WORKS - Reluctant to proceed to the barriers and hung in during the race. Began awkwardly.  A warning will be placed on the filly’s pre-race manners.
 
MISS MANEUVER - Slow to begin.
 
RISEN - Raced 4 wide without cover throughout.
 
HIDDEN SEQUEL - Raced 3 wide without cover throughout.
 
DJERASSI - Raced wide throughout.  Held up rounding the home turn.  Inconvenienced over the concluding stages by DON’T PLAY AROUND which shifted out under pressure. It was reported that the gelding lost its near fore plate in running.
 
OUTBACK TYCOON - Raced wide throughout.
 
HAPPY MEDIUM - Raced wide throughout.

DON’T PLAY AROUND - Shifted out under pressure over the concluding stages.
 
MAGIC STREET - Approaching the 500m, Jockey A Allen was struck in the face by a clod which prevented him from riding the gelding with any vigour for the remainder of the event.
 
RACE 5: The Avenue Ratings Band 0-62 H’cap – 1800m
1st: Hot Money    2nd: Barraaj    3rd: Wicked Queen    4th:  Splendid Stryker
 
GALIANO underwent a veterinary examination upon arriving behind the barriers at the request of Jockey D Griffin.  The veterinary surgeon was unable to identify any lameness, however, Jockey Griffin remained dissatisfied with the gelding’s action. Subsequently the gelding was withdrawn by order of Stewards at 12.59pm.  All monies invested on GALIANO were ordered to be refunded.  Deductions applicable to bets placed on winner and place-getters prior to 12.59pm:-
 
7 cents in the dollar for the win - No. 6 – Hot Money
4 cents in the dollar for the place of winner - No. 6 – Hot Money
10 cents in the dollar for the 2nd place - No. 1 - Barraaj
10 cents in the dollar for the 3rd place - No. 10 – Wicked Queen
 
Prior to the declaration of correct weight, Stewards reviewed the patrol footage to ascertain if the connections of BARRAAJ (2nd place) had grounds to lodge an objection against HOT MONEY (1st place) after both horses shifted significantly wider on the track from the 400m on-wards.  After viewing the patrol footage, Stewards were of the opinion that BARRAAJ was inclined to shift out and away from HOT MONEY notwithstanding that gelding’s outwards shift. Therefore, as they were not satisfied that BARRAAJ had suffered any interference attributable to HOT MONEY, Stewards declared correct weight on the numbers semaphored. 
 
QABLA - Slow to begin.
 
SPLENDID STRYKER - Approaching the 1500m, steadied and lost ground when tightened for room between WATCHED and DANISH HOMBRE which shifted in.
 
WATCHED - Approaching the 1500m, checked and lost ground when tightened for room between ROYAL ROULETTE and SPLENDID STRYKER which was taken in by DANISH HOMBRE.
 
ROYAL ROULETTE - Over-raced during the early and middle stages.
 
BEHEST - Over-raced during the early and middle stages.
 
Jockey A Allen (DANISH HOMBRE) was found guilty of a charge of careless riding under AR137(a) for failing to make sufficient effort to prevent DANISH HOMBRE from shifting in approaching the 1500m resulting in tightening to SPLENDID STRYKER and WATCHED both of which had to be restrained and lost ground.  Jockey Allen was suspended from riding in races for a period of 10 days to commence midnight 30/05/2017 and to expire midnight 09/06/2017.
 
RACE 6: Southport Yacht Club Class 4 H’cap – 1100m
1st: Wigglesworth    2nd: Drumbeat’s Choice    3rd: Lipsync    4th:  Passion to Win
 
PASSION TO WIN - App. A Fancourt reported that the mare blundered on jumping away.
 
DRUMBEAT’S CHOICE - Began awkwardly.
 
KINCAPLE CHIEF - Slow to begin.
 
GENERATE - Began awkwardly.  Bumped near the 900m.  Steadied from heels near the 600m.
 
LIPSYNC - Bumped near the 900m.  Raced wide without cover throughout.
 
PRINCE OF THE TURF - Bumped near the 900m.  Raced wide throughout.
 
After the running of Race 6 the track was upgraded by a GOOD 4.
 
RACE 7: Palm Beach Surf Life Saving Club Class 4 H’cap – 1100m
1st: Reigning Thunder    2nd: Final Over    3rd: Hidden Rose    4th:  Mr Cha Cha
 
PATRONIZING – Began very awkwardly and lost ground.  When questioned regarding the performance, Jockey M McGuren stated that his intention was to settle in a position closer to the speed, however, after beginning very awkwardly he was obliged to settle at the rear of the field.  Nonetheless, he was disappointed in the gelding’s effort over the final 600m and was unable to offer any tangible explanation.   A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any apparent abnormalities at the time of examination.  Stewards will interview Trainer S Kendrick at a later date.
 
SAVANNAH DREAM - Blundered on jumping away.
 
ASTI CHOPS - Refused to settle despite the efforts of its rider in the early and middle stages.
 
HONEY KO - When questioned regarding the tactics adopted, App. M Murphy stated that the mare commenced to over-race after obtaining a position outside of ASTI CHOPS and refused to settle despite his efforts.
 
 
RACE 8: Emerald Lakes Golf Club Class 3 H’cap – 1300m
1st: Wack’em    2nd: Priest’s Road    3rd: Licitra    4th:  Uh Oh
 
SHEZA LILY - Began awkwardly.  Bumped near the 1000m.  Held up rounding the home turn.  Near the 200m shifted out and bumped HEARTS HONOUR after being steadied from the heels of RAINBOW LACE which shifted out.  App. G Mitchell (RAINBOW LACE) was reprimanded for allowing her mount to shift out when insufficiently clear.
 
GYPSY WILD - Slow to begin.
 
HIGH SPECS - Hampered at the start. Raced wide throughout.  Leaving the 500m taken wider on the track.
 
STANLEY - Slow to begin.
 
BOOMI DAZZLER - Steadied when placed in restricted room passing the 1200m.  Bumped near the 1000m. Raced wide throughout.  Near the 100m steadied from the heels of HEARTS HONOUR which was taken out by SHEZA LILY.  Jockey C Bayliss (SHEZA LILY) was advised to exercise more care in similar circumstances in future.
 
HEARTS HONOUR - Bumped near the 1000m.  Over-raced during the early and middle stages.  Near the 200m steadied after being bumped by SHEZA LILY.  Near the 100m hampered by SHEZA LILY which shifted out.   The gelding suffered a bleeding attack during the event.  It will now incur a mandatory three months ban from racing under the provisions of AR53A. 
 
RAINBOW LACE - Raced wide without cover throughout.
 
GREY NOT BLACK - Raced wide throughout.  Leaving the 500m taken wider on the track.  Hung out rounding the home turn.
 
SOFT TOP - Raced wide throughout.  Near the 500m taken wider and inconvenienced by HIGH SPECS which was taken out by runners to its inside.  Jockey J Mallyon the rider of HEARTS HONOUR was advised to exercise more care for allowing his mount to shift out resulting in the runners to his outside being inconvenienced.
 
 
 
 
RACE 9:  Canadian Club Whisky Open H’cap - 1400m
1st: Motion Granted    2nd: Brotherly Secret    3rd: Uno Best    4th:  Dream Finnish
 
Trainer P Facoory was fined the sum of $100 for the late rider notification of Jockey A Allen on UNO BEST.
 
POLYNIKES - Began awkwardly and lost ground.  When over-racing passing the 1000m steadied from the heels of MOTION GRANTED.
 
LORD COCONUTS - Slow to begin.  Passing the 1000m steadied from the heels of POLYNIKES and shifted out. 
 
UNO BEST - Began awkwardly.
 
CHOICE PRINCESS - Slow to begin.  Near the 1000m, taken wider by LORD COCONUTS and as a consequence raced wide without cover from that point onwards.
 
 
RACE 10:  Gallery Restaurant QTIS 3YO C&G H’cap - 1200m
1st: Divine Dice    2nd: Real Classic    3rd: Denbern    4th:  Dominant Crown
 
The start was delayed when OH BOY was fractious in the barriers and momentarily became cast .  After being examined by the veterinary surgeon the gelding was cleared to start.
 
DOMINANT CROWN - Slow to begin. Jockey J Mallyon reported that after being slow to begin, the gelding was obliged to race at the rear of the field where it resented the kickback.  Jockey Mallyon added that the gelding then raced greenly in the home straight before finishing the race off well over the final 100m.
 
BELOSO - Bumped at the start.
 
DESERT COWBOY - Bumped at the start.
 
OH BOY - Shortly after the start steadied from the heels of REAL CLASSIC.
 
DOUMBEK - Hung out for the majority of the event and as a result raced wide throughout.  A warning was placed on the gelding’s racing manners.
 
RED SCARLET - Raced wide throughout.  When questioned regarding the performance, Jockey D Griffin stated that the gelding failed to muster sufficient speed in the early stages and in his opinion would now be better suited over further distances. 
 
DIVINE DICE - Raced wide without cover during the early and middle stages.
