From Beaudesert Meeting Saturday 29/7/2017 Race 5 Class 1 1400m
 
SON OF JUSTICE Trainer reported following the poor performance that the gelding had pulled up satisfactorily.. He added that he had blood tests carried out, the results of which he would report to stewards.
 
RACE 1: Welcome To Aquis Park Fillies & Mares Class 3 HHCap 1400m
 
PERRAN BEACH Began awkwardly.. Jockey R. Fradd reported that the mare did not feel comfortable in its action over the final 400m.. A post race veterinary examination revealed the mare to have sustained a laceration to its tongue.
 
YES TONIGHT Near the 1200m attempted to shift off the fence to obtain a position outside the leader however, was unable to do so as FOXWHISTLE was racing to its outside.. As a consequence made heavy contact with FOXWHISTLE and clipped the heels of DUTCH TREAT, blundered and lost ground.
 
FOXWHISTLE Bumped heavily by YES TONIGHT near the 1200m.
 
CATENACCIO Laid in under pressure in the straight.
 
DUTCH TREAT Trainer T. White reported that the mare sustained an abrasion to its near hind leg.
RACE 2: Industry Awards Night 2017 QTIS 3YO Fillies Maiden Plate 1100m
 
HOUSE OF DRAMA Slow to begin and shortly thereafter was hampered when tightened for room and lost ground.
 
TWO PLUS TWO Hampered at the start.
 
CATALINA MISS Began awkwardly.. Raced wide for the majority.
 
RAIN ON ME Began awkwardly.. Bumped near the 700m. A post race veterinary examination of the filly, which finished tailed off, revealed an abrasion to the left eye after being hit by a clod of dirt during the event.
 
LA VIDA LOCA Near the 900m had to be steadied when awkwardly placed at the heels of RAIN ON ME.. Raced wide without cover for the majority.. Raced greenly throughout.
 
DANSEZ Commenced to overrace leaving the 800m and approaching the 700m shifted out and bumped RAIN ON ME.
 
JABROOK Leaving the 600m had to be steadied when placed in restricted room between TWO PLUS TWO and RAIN ON ME.
 
KENDALLLS DREAM Hung out rounding the home turn.
 
 
RACE 3: Congratulations Helen Maiden Plate 1800m
 
SIDETRIP Bumped at the start.
 
KRUPSKAYA Bumped at the start.
 
SIP SIP SIP Overraced in the early stages and had to be steadied from heels near the 1500m.. Held up rounding the home turn and the early stages of the home straight to a point leaving the 200m.
 
SIR EARLSTOUN Overraced passing the 800m and as a consequence raced wide without cover from that point onwards.
 
KUTTAMURRA AL Held up rounding the home turn and in the early stages of the home straight.
 
YEPPOON Laid in under pressure in the home straight.. Blundered approaching the winning post.
 
NEDDS ROUND Raced wide without cover throughout. App M. McGillivray reported after being bumped at the start he was obliged to settle further back than anticipated.
 
MUDGEE ROAD Jockey J. Morris reported that the gelding made an abnormal respiratory noise throughout the race and in his opinion may benefit from the addition of a tongue tie. A post race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities and a swab sample was taken.
RACE 4: Congratulations Dan Class 2 HHCap
1200m
 
POWERFUL FLASH Began awkwardly.
 
ARISTOGRATS Upon straightening was disappointed for a run between OUR JAMAICA and DANE JESTER, then held up and obliged to shift back to the inside of OUR JAMAICA to secure clear running. Again held up passing the 150m when disappointed for a run to the inside of OUR JAMAICA which shifted in marginally. When questioned if there was an opportunity to hold the lead in the early stages jockey R. Fradd stated his instructions were to position the gelding where comfortable. Therefore when OUR JAMAICA, which was drawn to his outside, pressed forward to lead he was content to take a trailing position behind that runner.. Trainer M. Dunn confirmed the instructions and stewards noted the explanation.
 
DANE JESTER Leaving the 300m had to be steadied when awkwardly placed at the heels of OUR JAMAICA, which shifted out.
 
 
RACE 5: Congratulations Jag Maiden Plate
1200m
 
LUNCHTIME CHOICE was declared a late scratching at 9.00 a.m. acting on veterinary advice..
 
The start was delayed when the bandages on all 4 fetlocks of NONCHALANTE had to be removed as they were not stitched in accordance with the National Gear Register.
 
HALLSIDE REBEL Blundered at the start. Held up rounding the home turn.. Then had difficulty securing clear running in the early stages of the home straight before again being held up over the concluding stages.. As a consequence went to the line without being fully tested.
 
DREAMSCOPE Began awkwardly. Bumped near the 1100m. Raced wide without cover throughout.
 
MAJOR LUCK Bumped near the 1100m. Overraced in the early stages.. Raced wide throughout.
 
WALK OF SHAME Overraced in the middle stages and near the 800m bumped the running rail. Held up rounding the home turn.. Approaching the 100m had to be steadied when tightened for room..
 
RACE 6: Canary Bar Caulfield Cup Class 4 HHCap 1800m
 
Trainer T. Haydon was fined $100 for the late declaration of App A. Fancourt as the rider of NUDGEE.
 
NUDGEE Began awkwardly.
 
THE RUMOUR FILE Had difficulty securing clear running passing the 200m.
 
SIDERO STAR Jockey R. Fradd reported that after beginning awkwardly the gelding was reluctant to stretch out in the early stages.
RACE 7: Happy Birthday Thoroughbreds BenchMark 75 HHCap 1100m
 
ZIP TO THE MOON Raced 3 wide without cover from the 800m.
 
MEET GEORGE JETSON A post race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
 
HIDDEN LIGHT A post race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Trainer B. Hill reported that the mare would now be sent for a spell.
 
FRENCH JET - When questioned as to the performance jockey J. Byrne stated that his intention was to settle behind the speed however, the gelding failed to muster sufficient speed despite his efforts and settled at the rear of the field.. Jockey Byrne added that when allowed to improve to the outside of the field upon straightening the gelding finished off the race fairly but was still disappointing in his opinion.. Jockey Byrne was of the opinion that the gelding may be better suited over 1200m. Trainer M. Dunn agreed with the comments of J. Byrne and indicated that he may remove the ear muffs prior to the next start. A post race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
 
 
RACE 8: South Pacific Laundry Colts, Geldings & Entires Class 3 HHCap 1400m
 
OUR BEATNIK Hampered at the start. Near the 500m had to be checked from heels.. Overraced for the majority of the event.. Held up in the early stages of the home straight..
 
EQUISTAR Bumped at the start.. Raced wide without cover throughout.
 
TURKANA Bumped at the start.. Held up passing the 300m and was obliged to shift back in across heels to secure clear running. Raced wide throughout.
 
SECRET CODE Overraced in the early and middle stages.
 
MICKEY DAZZLER Raced wide in the early stages.
 
LEGAL COUNSEL When questioned as to the improved performance trainer L. Wheeler stated he was not overly disappointed with the geldinggs previous form.. Mr Wheeler noted that the gelding had been slow to begin and forced to race wide throughout at its last start at Ballina and at the start prior to that at the Gold Coast the gelding was not suited by the slow tempo.. Mr Wheeler noted that the gelding performs better on good tracks.
 
Jockey L. Londregan (GREAT MOGHUL) was reprimanded for excessive use of the whip prior to the 100m.
