THE LAWYER - Began awkwardly. Raced wide throughout.. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
 
RED FACETS - Bumped at the start. Raced greenly throughout.
 
MAHARNI - Raced wide without cover throughout.
 
RACE 2: Aquis Park Class 4 HHcap 1400m

MONTRER DAME - Slow to begin.
 
TAIYOSHIN - Slow to begin.
 
ROLLING ROMAN - Over-raced during the early stages.. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.. Trainer G Baker reported that the gelding had come to the end of its current preparation and would now be sent for an immediate spell.
 
App. S Sweeney (BIAGIOTTI) was fined the sum of $400 for excessive use of the whip prior to the 100m.
 
RACE 3: City of Gold Coast Cup F&M Maiden Plate 1200m
1st: Red Chilll   2nd: Classayy   3rd: Miss Powder Kegg   4th:: Rolling Cloud
 
OUR MOMENTO was a late scratching at 8:42am on veterinary advice.. A veterinary certificate of fitness will be required before the mare starts again.
 
Stewards considered an objection lodged by App. Z White (CLASSAY) the rider of the 2nd placegetter against RED CHILL (R Goldsbury) being declared the winner on the grounds of alleged interference near the 1000m.. Stewards established that CLASSAY was momentarily steadied near the 1000m when awkwardly placed at the heels of RED CHILL which shifted in at that point.. App. R Goldsbury (RED CHILL) was reprimanded for this incident.. Bearing in mind that the incident took place at the 1000m, the minor nature of the interference and the way in which both horses finished the race off over the final 300m, Stewards could not be comfortably satisfied that the incident had a
material effect on the placings and subsequently dismissed the objection and declared correct weight on the numbers semaphored..
 
CALDERA GIRL - Slow to begin.
 
CLEARFIELD - Slow to begin.. Raced wide without cover throughout.
 
MISS POWDER KEG - Began awkwardly and bumped another runner.. Shortly after the start had to be steadied from the heels of NAKOTA GIRL.
 
DDAMORE DDMERRIER - Bumped at the start.
 
RED CHILL Began awkwardly. Trainer M Nolan will be questioned regarding the seemingly improved performance at a later date.
 
CLASSAY - Near the 1000m had to be steadied when awkwardly placed at the heels of RED CHILL.. Laid out under pressure over the final 200m.
 
ROLLING CLOUD - Rider dropped his whip at the 250m.. Shifted out under pressure over the concluding stages.
 
VIVID PINK Hampered when tightened for room passing the 100m.
 
LADY EIGHTY EIGHT A post-race veterinary examination revealed the mare to be suffering from cardiac arrhythmia.. The mare must perform in an official barrier trial and provide a veterinary clearance with the results of an ECG before racing again.

The start was delayed when I REGAL proved difficult to load.. A warning was placed on the geldinggs barrier manners.
 
VANQUISH - Began awkwardly.
 
TEYSSIER - Bumped at the start.
 
RITCHFORD - Bumped at the start.. Jockey R McMahon reported that the gelding put in a number of awkward strides in the home straight and as a result he did not ride the horse out over the final 150m due to being concerned with its action.. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities.. Trainer M Wilson indicated that he would step the gelding up in distance at its next start and experiment with the addition of blinkers.
 
SOLARCRAFT - Began awkwardly.
 
TIARNAN - Over-raced during the early stages and had to be steadied from heels passing the 900m.. Near the 400m steadied from the heels of BEAU DANCER.
 
ALMAZAN - Raced wide without cover throughout.. Near the 300m bumped by COMPLICIT and became unbalanced for a short distance.
 
MARK MY WORD - Bumped on a number of occasions rounding the home turn and upon straightening.. Near the 250m shifted out and bumped EVERY SINGLE ONE.
 
BEAU DANCER - Held up rounding the home turn.. Approaching the 150m disappointed for a run and held up until the 50m.
 
COMPLICIT - Bumped on a number of occasions rounding the home turn and upon straightening.
 
EVERY SINGLE ONE - Bumped near the 250m.
 
RACE 5: Aquis Park Class 2 HHcap 1200m

1st: Malkaraa   2nd: Dazzle Us Againn   3rd: American Heroo   4th:: Rainbow Spirit
 
READY FOR DANGER - Slow to begin. When questioned as to the disappointing performance, Jockey M McGuren stated that the gelding failed to travel comfortably at any stage in the event and in his opinion was disappointing.. Jockey McGuren was unable to offer any tangible explanation for the performance.. Trainer M Dunn was at a loss to explain the disappointing performance and undertook to advise stewards should any abnormality come to light in the days subsequent to the race.. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities.. A swab sample was taken..
 
RACE 6: Racing Industry Awards 21 August 0-62 HHcap 1800m
1st: Captain Treasuree   2nd: Walwaa   3rd: Nudgeee   4th:: Unassuming
 
UNASSUMING - Slow to begin.
 
MA RAISON - Began awkwardly.
 
NUDGEE - Bumped at the start.
 
PREMIERE PLACE - Raced wide without cover during the early stages before being ridden forward to the lead near the 1200m.
 
AHMAH STAR - Over-raced during the middle stages.
 
RACE 7: Spring Carnival on Sale C,G&E Class 1 HHcap 1400m
1st: Kickstart My Heartt   2nd: Same Oldd   3rd: Nothingforthepresss   4th:: True Stepper
 
Jockey L Rolls was fined the sum of $200 for being dually engaged on MOGUL and NOTHINGFORTHEPRESS in this event.. Jockey Rolls was subsequently replaced by Jockey M McGuren on NOTHINGFORTHEPRESS.
 
LAST ARMAGEDDON - Near the 1100m bumped by DYNASTIC.. Raced wide without cover from the 800m onwards when KICKSTART MY HEART remained one off the fence after obtaining the lead.
 
NOTHINGFORTHEPRESS Near the 900m and again near the 700m, steadied when awkwardly placed at the heels of TRUE STEPPER.. Upon straightening obliged to shift in to obtain clear running.
 
DYNASTIC - Raced wide throughout.. Hampered by SAME OLD leaving the 100m.
 
TRUE STEPPER - Over-raced during the middle stages.. Bumped by NOTHINGFORTHEPRESS over the concluding stages.
 
SAME OLD - Steadied from heels near the 800m.. Near the 250m bumped by DYNASTIC which shifted out.
 
MOGUL - Near the 250m hampered by SAME OLD which was taken out by DYNASTIC.

TACTICAL MANUEVER - Slow to begin.. Bumped by CUSHTY PRINCESS near the 100m.
 
BRING YOUR AY GAME - Slow to begin.
 
HIGH ON YOU - Slow to begin.
 
ALASTRIONA - Stewards opened an inquiry into the running and handling of ALASTRIONA after taking initial evidence from Jockey B Grylls and Trainer D Joice, the inquiry was adjourned to a date to be fixed to allow stewards to review the marees previous runs and to examine betting activity on the race.
 
STELLAR JEWEL - Over-raced during the early stages.. Near the 1000m steadied from heels.. When questioned as to the seemingly
improved performance Trainer T McCarthy stated that in his opinion the mare had performed well in its first two races over unsuitable distances this preparation.. Mr McCarthy added that the mare appreciated the step up in distance today and noted that it had been racing over further distances towards the end of its previous preparation..
 
CUSHTY PRINCESS - Raced wide without cover throughout.
 
MIZARU Leaving the 600m steadied when placed in restricted room.
