Stewards accepted the explanation tendered by Jockey Rolls for the dual engagement. DONNT STUTTER Trainer advised change of tactics to be ridden handy with cover should circumstances permit. Ridden accordingly. Bumped at the start.. Stewards questioned App. C Bayliss regarding his tactics in the middle stages of the event.. App. Bayliss stated that connections elected to vary the tactics today after the filly had been ridden vigorously in the early stages to obtain a forward position at its previous starts and had failed to finish off the race as expected.. App. Bayliss added that today he was able to settle the filly where comfortable in a mid-field position with cover.. Passing the 600m he was reluctant to improve to the inside of GREYT INTENTIONS and trail WICKED EXPRESS into the race as he was concerned that he would then be held up rounding the home turn.. Therefore, he elected to shift wider on the track to ensure that he had clear running from the 400m onwards.. App. Bayliss further added that todayys tactics suited the filly as it was able to finish the race off well.. Whilst noting the explanation, Stewards advised App. Bayliss that on this occasion he may have been better suited trailing WICKED EXPRESS into the race and riding the filly for luck..
