SIDEWALK TALK - Slow to begin.
 
BEEDEE BOY - After being caught wide during the early stages, allowed his mount to stride forward to obtain a position outside the leader passing the 1300m.
 
SHADOW EMPIRE Raced 3 wide without cover from the 1200m.
 
HEART OF A REBEL Laid out rounding the home turn.
 
Jockey J Morris (SIDEWALK TALK) was fined the sum of $300 for excessive use of the whip prior to the 100m.
 
Jockey L Tilley (VANQUISH) was reprimanded for excessive use of the whip prior to the 100m.

TOP GLAMOUR Tightened for room at the start and lost ground and then failed to muster speed.
 
MIRACLE STAR - Began awkwardly.
 
BLUE SEATTLE - Raced wide throughout and was inclined to lay out from the 600m..
 
FAIRY WINGS Upon returning to scale, Jockey G Colless could offer no explanation for the disappointing performance.
 
After the running of Race 2, the track was upgraded to a Good 3.
 
RACE 3: Griffith University Maiden Plate

SILVERWIN Connections advised that the horse would be ridden more forward today than at its most recent start.. Ridden accordingly.
 
BUSHROVER - Slow to begin.
 
LAST CRY - Began awkwardly.
 
MISSY MUSKETEER - Rounding the turn near the 800m, inclined to lay out and raced wide from that point.
 
MAJOR LUCK Near the 600m steadied from heels.. Stewards questioned Jockey M McGuren with respect to the tactics adopted whereby the gelding settled further back in the field today than anticipated.. Jockey McGuren advised that he was instructed to ride the horse in a mid-field position if possible today and for that reason he did not overly bustle the horse in the early stages.. He added that the gelding did not show the speed that he had anticipated in the early stages which he attributed to the gelding racing without the blinkers today and as a result settled further back in the field than he had anticipated.. Stewards noted his explanation.

Acting on veterinary advice ULTRONEOUS was a late withdrawal by order of Stewards at 2.18pm after the mare reared over in the enclosure. All monies invested on ULTRONEOUS were ordered to be refunded.. Deductions applicable to bets placed on winner and place-getters prior to 2.18pm:-

CLANG AGAIN - Raced keenly during the early and middle stages.
 
PRESS CENTRE - Raced 3 wide without cover throughout.
 
FEAR FACTOR Steadied from heels at the 200m and forced to shift to the outside to secure clear running.

Trainer T Edmonds was fined the sum of $100 for failing to produce the Document of Description for REAL CUTE.
 
GO BETTER - Hung out badly for the majority of the event and proved difficult to ride.. Trainer B Guy was advised that a warning would be placed on the horsees racing manners.. Mr Guy indicated that in light of the horsees manners today he would now experiment with the horsees gear prior to its next start.
 
SACROMONTE - Raced in restricted room rounding the home turn.
