Stewards considered an objection lodged by Jockey L Dittman the rider of RAINS APLENTY which finished 3rd against BRICKMANSHIP (Jockey M Cahill) being declared the 2nd placegetter on the grounds of interference in the home straight.. Stewards were of the view that whilst BRINKMANSHIP did commence to hang out badly from the home turn and for the remainder of the home straight slightly impeding RAINS APLENTY on two separate occasions, they were not satisfied bearing in mind the neck margin at the finish, that the interference was sufficient to warrant an alteration to the placings and therefore the protest was dismissed. Trainer H Page was advised that a warning would be placed against BRICKMANSHIPPs racing manners on the home turn and in the straight.

BURNING SUCCESS The colt which was examined on arrival at the course and found to have a slight abrasion above the right eye and an abrasion to the off hind leg, was passed to start..
