RACE 1: Attwood Marshall Lawyers Class 5 Handicap 1800m
 
SLYDINI Made the crossing passing the 1600m awkwardly.
 
CANONGATE Bumped heavily by SLYDINI and became unbalanced near the 1400m. App B. Nothdurft (SLYDINI) was issued with a severe reprimand and advised to show greater care when shifting ground in future.
 
GLEN ORD Near the 1000m became awkward at the heels of TAP THIS and shifted out.
 
PALACE TYCOON Bumped and taken wider near the 1000m and raced 3 wide for the remainder of the event.
 
TAP THIS Jockey B. Grylls reported at scale her mount appeared to slip and became unbalanced approaching the first turn. As a result this section of the track was inspected by the track curator and deemed suitable to continue with the remainder of the race meeting.
 
MOSS GO NOW Trainer H. Richardson was questioned regarding the improved performance of the gelding as compared to its most recent start at Toowoomba on 7 October 2017. Mr Richardson explained that the gelding had to make a long sustained run on that occasion and as a result weakened over the final stages. Mr Richardson added that he was confident today of a forward showing and that the gelding was ridden well being saved for one final run from the 400m.
 
Following the running of this event the track was downgraded to a Heavy 10 retrospective.
RACE 2: Attwood Marshall Lawyers Colts, Geldings & Entires Maiden Handicap 1400m
 
WAS AGONA was declared a late scratching at 8.09 a.m. acting on veterinary advice.
 
Jockey T. Patel was dislodged from LUCKY CAPTAIN during the preliminary. LUCKY CAPTAIN was examined by the veterinary surgeon behind the barriers and passed fit to start.. Jockey Patel was cleared to take his ride after being examined by the ambulance officers.
 
LUCKY CAPTAIN Jumped awkwardly and made heavy contact with SOLARCRAFT.
 
Jockey T. Patel (LUCKY CAPTAIN) was fined $100 for excessive use of the whip prior to the 100m.
 
RACE 3: Attwood Marshall Lawyers BenchMark 65 Handicap 2200mm
 
WEEKEND WINNER Slow to begin. Jockey A. Allen reported at scale that his mount never travelled comfortably at any stage throughout the event.
 
MCGILL Raced 3 wide without cover over the final 1400m.
 
Both N. Day (HIGH AFRICAINE) and M. Hellyer (SCARLET POET) were reminded to at all times to ride their mounts out to the end of the race.
 
 
RACE 4: Attwood Marshall Lawyers QTIS 3YO Maiden Plate 900m
 
The start was delayed when the horses were initially loaded into incorrect barrier positions.. The horses were withdrawn from the gates and this error was rectified..
 
There was a further delay when BEST PROSPECT became fractious, was withdrawn, inspected by the veterinary surgeon and cleared to start.
 
There was then a further delay when the tongue tie on OUR MYSTIFY had to be refitted.
 
BEST PROSPECT Slow to begin.
 
MISS HONEYFLOW Slow to begin.
 
LOVESON Slow to begin.
 
COSMIC VIEW Rounding the home turn had to be steadied from the heels of LOVESON and was then obliged to shift out in order to improve.
 
MANILA MISS Raced wide throughout.
 
NORTHERN DRAGON Raced extremely wide throughout.
 
OUR MYSTIFY App Z. White reported at scale that her mount raced greenly under pressure in the straight.
RACE 5: Attwood Marshall Lawyers Fillies & Mares Maiden Handicap 1400m
 
ART SHE QUICK, which became fractious prior to entering the mounting yard, was examined by the veterinary surgeon and found to have a superficial laceration to the near hind coronet.. ART SHE QUICK was subsequently passed fit to start.
 
KRUPSKAYA Slow to begin.
 
CASINO EVIL Raced ungenerously in the middle stages. Approaching and rounding the home turn was held up and unable to improve.
 
RED BLANKET Near the 700m when overracing had to be restrained from the heels of HEY HEY MY MY.
 
DITZY DARCI Rounding the home turn was held up and unable to secure clear running when awkwardly placed at the heels of MENAAS CHOICE.
 
FORTUNATELY Raced wide without cover throughout.
 
ASTANA Raced wide without cover throughout.
 
RACE 6: Attwood Marshall Lawyers Class 2 Handicap 1400m
 
SCARLETT HUSSIE was declared a late scratching at 8.18 a.m. due to the downgrade of the track.
 
SHE GOES POP was declared a late scratching at 2.45 p.m. due to the track conditions.
 
SHAOLIN KUNGFU Jockey L. Rolls explained that his mount failed to handle todays rain affected track.
 
 
RACE 7: Attwood Marshall Lawyers Class 3 Handicap 1200m
 
VAULTING AMBITION was declared a late scratching at 8.18 a.m. due to the downgrade of the track.
 
RAINBOW LACE Raced ungenerously in the early stages when being restrained.
 
TYRANNIZE Approaching the 200m jockey A. Allen momentarily lost the use of his off side rein. Raced 3 wide without cover throughout.
 
DESMONS PRIDE When questioned regarding his riding of the gelding jockey J. Taylor explained that from the outside barrier, rather than race wide, he elected to ease his mount and settle at the rear of the field. He stated he had specific instructions to improve to the inside rounding the home turn and in the early part of the home straight the gelding was inclined to lay in and was not entirely comfortable on todays rain affected track.. He further added that when able to switch the whip into his right hand near the 100m the gelding finished the race off fairly in his opinion.. His explanation was noted.
 
RACE 8: Revelstone Stud Class 1 Handicap
900m
 
EVES JET Slow to begin.
 
SPLASH OF CRISTAL Near the 800m had to be steadied when momentarily tightened for room by GOOD GRACIOUS MAE, which shifted in when not quite clear. App Z. White (GOOD GRACIOUS MAE) was cautioned and advised to give her fellow riders greater clearance in the future.
 
HONOUR PROMISE Passing the 400m had to be steadied when tightened for room between SPLASH OF CRISTAL and I REMEMBER YOU, both of which shifted ground.
 
BEBADO Jockey N. Day reported his mount was inclined to lay in in the home straight and failed to handle todays rain affected track.
 
LAST ROUND Jockey M. Hellyer reported at scale his mount was inclined to lay in throughout.. A post race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to have a poor post race recovery rate with an elevated heart rate. Trainer B. Hudson was advised he must provide a veterinary clearance together with the results of an endoscopic examination prior to the gelding racing again.
