Upon straightening shifted in of its own accord making contact with the running rail and became unbalanced. A short distance later was severely checked when tightened by runners to its outside and lost ground. A post race veterinary examination revealed the gelding had sustained a laceration to the off fore cannon and received superficial lacerations to the near hind coronet and the near fore cannon. DONT SAY NO – Began awkwardly, shifted in and bumped NO CRYSTAL BALL. NO CRYSTAL BALL – Bumped at the start. ARCING HARD – Began awkwardly. Raced wide throughout. DEVILLAIN – Slow to begin. Shortly after the start attempted to buck. A warning was placed on the fillys racing manners. SPICERS PEAK – Slow to begin. Approaching the 600m when racing greenly laid out across the heels of HEAVENS STAR and had to be steadied. Passing the 300m was checked when disappointed for a run to the inside of NO CRYSTAL BALL, which shifted in. HEAVENS STAR – Approaching the 700m was bumped and became unbalanced for a short distance. Near the 600m was bumped on the hind quarters by SPICERS PEAK, became unbalanced and lost ground. CLUB SODA – Approaching the 700m was bumped by another runner. Raced four wide without cover throughout. RIVER FLYER – Laid in upon straightening. Raced three wide without cover throughout. Jockey S. Doyle the rider of NO CRYSTAL BALL pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under the provisions of AR137(a) in that he failed to make sufficient effort to prevent his mount from shifting in near the 300m when insufficiently clear of SPICERS PEAK, which had to be checked as a consequence. HASTEN SLOWLY racing to the inside of SPICERS PEAK also had to be checked as a consequence and made heavy contact with the inside running rail. Jockey Doyles licence to ride in races was suspended for a period of nine (9) days to commence midnight 14 April 2018 and expire midnight 23 April 2018. RACE 2: Amir Mian Prestige Prop. Agents Commercial & Developments RB 0-65 Handicap – 900m The start was delayed due to the bit of MONACO PLAYBOY having to be readjusted prior to being loaded into the barriers. DELAGO THUNDER – Slow to begin. Shifted out under pressure over the concluding stages. MONACO PLAYBOY – Hampered shortly after the start. Raced wide throughout. SILENT STATUE – Hampered shortly after the start. REAL CUTE – Near the 800m had to be steadied when tightened for room. Held up rounding the home turn. Disappointed for a run to the inside of DELAGO THUNDER passing the 200m and had to be steadied, then shifted back to the inside of that runner to secure clear running. EVES JET – Held up rounding the home turn. ROB ROY – Shifted out under pressure over the concluding stages. MORE WORLDLY – Raced wide throughout. DANSU – Raced wide without cover throughout. RACE 3: Amir Mian Rookie Of The Month Alister Billingsley Maiden Handicap – 1200m ACCLAIMED FIRST – Fractious in the barriers and then began awkwardly. INDY BONBON – Began awkwardly. THE WARDSMEN – Slow to begin. GOLDEN VALLEY – Raced greenly in the early stages. ETIKAAL – Hung out under pressure in the home straight. CHAYSE N WILLOW – When questioned as to the below market performance jockey M. Paget noted that the gelding was having its first start today and the stable were confident of a forward showing. However, after beginning well and obtaining a favourable run during the middle stages it failed to respond as expected upon straightening and was most disappointing. Jockey Paget was unable to offer any tangible explanation for the performance. The only explanation trainer L. Kelly was able to offer was that the gelding had not trialled officially prior to the race and as such may derive a fitness benefit from todays performance. A post race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings. RACE 4: Amir Mian Lister Of The Month Nicole Bricknell Class 4 Handicap – 1100m SNAPCHAT GIRL – Fractious in the barriers and was slow to begin. Laid in during the early stages of the home straight. HIDDEN LOVE – Fractious in the barriers and began awkwardly. FINAL OVER – Slow to begin. BISCUIT TIME – Overraced in the early and middle stages. BROOKAJOE – Hung out when overracing during the middle stages and as a consequence raced wide for the majority. When questioned as to the betting drift and subsequent performance trainer W. King noted that the gelding was first up from a lengthy spell and has never performed well when first up from a spell. Mr King further noted that the gelding was significantly up in class today however, races of a more appropriate class were programed over longer distances and his preference was to have the gelding commence its campaign over shorter distances given the lengthy spell. Mr King also produced a betting ticket that proved he had supported the horse today. The explanation was noted. LOKITIN – Leaving the 500m was bumped by PERDU, which shifted out to improve. MINI MELD – Leaving the 500m was forced wide when runners to its inside shifted out to improve. Raced wide without cover for the majority. App J. Murphy (FINAL OVER) was fined $200 for excessive use of the whip prior to the 100m. RACE 5: Amir Mian Prestige Property Agents Southport Class 3 Plate – 1400m KOOKIECUTTER – Blundered at the start. TYCOON FLUTTER – Rounding the home turn was forced wider on the track by VISONA PLAYBOY, which shifted out to improve. BOOM BOOM EPIC – Held up approaching the home turn. Laid in over the final 200m. WACK EM – Raced wide without cover throughout. RACE 6: Amir Mian Prestige Property Agents Paradise Point Class 2 Handicap – 800m CAPTAIN AMERICAIN – Slow to begin. MAXWELL – Slow to begin. YANKEE TANGO – Began awkwardly. WATCHED – Raced wide in the early stages and was ridden forward to settle outside the leader near the 1300m. LETS GET NAUTI GAL – Shifted in under pressure in the home straight. Jockey V. Johnston (HEAT SHIELD) was fined $300 for excessive use of the whip prior to the 100m. RACE 7: Amir Mian Sellers Of The Month Isaac Kim & Ivy Wu F&M Class 1 Handicap – 1300m Co-trainers B. & D. Guy were fined the sum of $100 for the late declaration of App C. Gallagher as the rider of PRINCIPESSA. PRINCIPESSA dislodged its rider App C. Gallagher upon leaving the parade ring. After the rider remounted the mare whilst being led by the Clerk of the Course broke free of the Clerk and took charge of its rider, during which time the saddle shifted significantly which caused the rider to lose control of the horse, after which it made heavy contact with the starting gates causing the rider to again be dislodged. After undergoing a veterinary examination the mare was declared a late scratching at 4.10 pm. All monies invested on PRINCIPESSA were ordered to be refunded. App Gallagher was examined by the ambulance officers and cleared to fulfil his remaining engagements. POSITIVE SPIN – Overraced in the early stages and shifted in bumping the running rail near the 900m. OUR GRACIOUS DANE – Held up over the concluding stages. GO DAISY – Raced wide without cover for the majority. RIVER HUSSY – A post race veterinary examination revealed the mare to be lame in the near fore leg. The stable indicated the mare would now be retired however, a veterinary clearance will be required should it race again. ALASTRIONA – When questioned regarding the seemingly improved performance trainer D. Joice stated that the mare performs best when able to be ridden towards the rear of the field and allowed to run on. Mr Joice noted that at its last start the mare found itself in the lead in the early stages, which was not his intention following which it subsequently performed poorly. However, the start prior to that at Ipswich similar tactics as today were adopted and it performed well. The explanation was noted. RACE 8: Amir Mian Prestige Property Agents Prop. Management C, G & E Class 1 Handicap – 1300m Trainer S. Lee was fined the sum of $100 for the late declaration of L. Dittman as the rider of CHAVO. THE ZOFF – Fractious in the barriers. Jockey A. Spinks reported he had sustained an injury to his right foot as a result of the horses barrier manners. Near the 1100m shifted out after being bumped on the hind quarters by CHAVO. Leaving the 600m was checked when tightened for room by CHAVO, which was taken in by SMART AS ATTACK. Jockey M. Paget (SMART AS ATTACK) was severely reprimanded for failing to allow sufficient racing room to those runners back to his inside. RELAXED – Slow to begin. Held up rounding the home turn and in the early stages of the home straight. INVINCIBOY – Slow to begin. AUSTRALIAN PHAROAH – Began awkwardly. CHAVO – Nearthe 1100m was obliged to race in restricted room and bumped THE ZOFF. BADGE OF GAMENESS – Near the 1100m had to be steadied when placed in restricted room between CHAVO and SMART AS ATTACK. A short distance later had to be eased when awkwardly placed at the heels of CHAVO. MADISON POINT – Overraced in the early stages. Leaving the 1000m had to be steadied from the heels of BADGE OF GAMENESS. CHARMING PRINCE – Held up rounding the home turn when disappointed for a run to the outside of BADGE OF GAMENESS.
