Trainer S. Morrisey reported that an endoscopic examination of PARKO failed to reveal any abnormalities. Mr Morrisey was of the opinion that the strong tempo in the early and middle stages had a detrimental affect on the gelding’s performance.

GENERAL

As B. Thornton was indisposed due to illness stewards permitted rider replacements as per the Stewards Race Day Summary.

After Race 1 stewards were advised that jockey R. Plumb was unable to fulfil his engagement on JAKUTA in Race 4 due to being overweight. Jockey Plumb was fined $300. Stewards permitted P. Hammersley to be substituted as the rider of JAKUTA. After Race 5 jockey Plumb advised stewards that he had been unable to obtain a medical clearance after being stood down after his first ride at Lismore on Friday 21 December 2018. Following this jockey Plumb was replaced by L. Dittman in Race 7 (LORD OF THE DREAMZ) and P. Hammersley in Race 8 (CABEIRIAN). Stewards accepted jockey Plumb’s explanation for not being able to obtain the required medical clearance
