General
 
As Jockey P. Hammersley was unable to fulfil his riding engagements in Races 1 (Our Ariana) and 2 (Conquermore) due to being overweight, he was replaced by Jockey C. Whiteley on both horses. Jockey Hammersley was fined the sum of $200.
 
Race 1 – Social Eating House QTIS 2YO Handicap – 900m
 
Esse – Proved difficult to load.
 
Our Ariana – Slow to begin. Raced greenly throughout and hung out rounding the home turn.
 
Blue Odyssey – Began awkwardly and lost ground. Near the 500m was steadied when attempting to improve into a narrow run.
 
Button Pusher – Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
 
Arnwood – A post-race veterinary examination revealed a poor post-race recovery.
 
 
Race 2 – QT Hotel Gold Coast Class 3 Plate – 900m
 
Prior to the barriers opening Kiss My Swiss lunged forward making heavy contact with the front gates which were forced open as a consequence. This resulted in those gates failing to remain open which prevented Kiss My Swiss from jumping on terms with the rest of the field. It was also noted that Jockey Doyle was concussed in this incident. Stewards were of the view that Kiss My Swiss was in all the circumstances denied a fair start and was therefore declared a non-runner under the provisions of AR204(i)(c). Stewards further ordered that all bets on Kiss My Swiss be refunded with the following deductions to apply:-
 
19 cents in the dollar for the Win #9
22 cents in the dollar for the place of winner #9
18 cents in the dollar the 2nd place #8
 
Kiss My Swiss – As a result of the incident in the barriers, Jockey S Doyle was dislodged passing the 600m. Jockey Doyle was examined by the Queensland Ambulance Service officers and found to be displaying symptoms of concussion and was taken to Pindara Hospital for further observation. Rider replacements were made as per Stewards Race Day Summary. A post-race veterinary examination revealed superficial abrasions and external trauma across the fillys nose. Trainer J Cleary was advised that a veterinary clearance would be required prior to the fillys next start.
 
Aggravate – Began awkwardly.
 
Old Trieste – Bumped at the start.
 
Lady McCabe – Bumped at the start.
 
Conquermore – Held up rounding the home turn and then hung in throughout the home straight making contact with the running rail leaving the 200m.
 
 
Race 3 – Kingscliff Beach Bowls Club Class 2 Handicap – 1400m
 
The start was delayed when both Armet and Union Dues proved difficult to load.
 
Friends – Slow to begin. Held up rounding the home turn and in the early stages of the home straight and passing the 200m was disappointed for a run.
 
Union Dues – Slow to begin.
 
Charming Prince – Slow to begin.
 
Armet – Held up upon straightening.
 
Jockey T Treichel (Friends) was reminded of his obligations to ride his mounts right out to the end of the race.
 
 
Race 4 – Ruby Resort Gold Coast F&M Class 1 Handicap – 1200m
 
Music lunged forward after being loaded making heavy contact with the front of the barriers. After being examined by the veterinary surgeon the mare was declared a late scratching at 2:34pm. All monies invested on Music were ordered to be refunded. Deductions applicable to bets placed on winner and place-getters prior to 2:34pm:-

Stable foreman T Edmonds was advised that a warning would be placed on the mares barrier manners.
 
Satyricon – Slow to begin. Held up in the early stages of the home straight and was obliged to shift back to the inside of Northern Dragon to secure clear running over the final 100m.
 
Only Ever Annie – Slow to begin.
 
Beat Za Drum – Lost its near hind plate in running.
 
 
Race 5 – The Durack Tavern Maiden Plate – 1100m
 
Jockey T. Treichel replaced Jockey N. Day on Astroboy as Jockey Day had previously accepted a riding engagement on Saturn Ops which was the 5th emergency.
 
Fake Tan – Shortly after the start was tightened for room.
 
Pumps – Upon returning to scale, Jockey G. Colless reported that the gelding over-raced during the middle stages but was disappointed in its failure to finish off the race as expected.
 
Saturn Ops – Upon returning to scale, Jockey N. Day reported that his saddle slipped backwards upon straightening placing him at a disadvantage for the remainder of the event.
 
Guanaba Girl – A post-race veterinary examination revealed the mare to have bled from both nostrils for the first time. Stable foreman T. Edmonds was advised that the mare will incur a mandatory three month ban from racing under the provisions of AR53A.
 
 
Race 6 – Kurrawa Surf Club BenchMark 65 Handicap – 1800m
 
Catch Me Latar – Slow to begin.
 
Golden Sheaf – Slow to begin. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities.
 
Hussons Pride – Near the 1500m commenced to over-race and hung out across the heels of Lookin At You and continued to hang out for a considerable distance thereafter. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a poor post-race recovery.
 
Gwapo – Near the 1500m was inconvenienced by Hussons Pride which hung out. Raced wide in the early and middle stages before obtaining the lead near the 1100m.
 
Brocson – Held up in the early stages of the home straight and had to shift out across the heels of two runners to obtain clear running leaving the 200m.
 
Lookin At You – Near the 250m was steadied when awkwardly placed at the heels of Sidero Star which shifted in marginally.
 
Jockey C Whiteley (Willy Be Lucky) was reprimanded for excessive use of the whip prior to the 100m.
 
 
Race 7 – Commercial Kitchen Company C,G&E Class 1 Handicap – 1200m
 
Real Kaos – Slow to begin. Held up in the early stages of the home straight.
 
Heza Good Boy – Slow to begin.
 
Hacksaw Ridge –  Began awkwardly.
 
Dreamreacher – Began awkwardly. Over-raced in the early and middle stages.
 
Mighty Moose – Raced wide without cover throughout.
 
Inkblot – Trainer B Witt reported that the gelding will be sent for an immediate spell following todays performance.
 
 
Race 8 – TAB Goldmarket (Listed) – 1200m
 
Jockey R. Plumb replaced App. J. Guthmann-Chester as the rider of Tyzone due to App. Guthmann-Chester being dually engaged to ride in Race 7 at Eagle Farm. Given the extenuating circumstances, stewards accepted App. Guthmann-Chesters explanation for failing to fulfil the engagement.
 
Due to the delay of Race 6 at Eagle Farm, this race was delayed to 5:30pm to allow for the arrival of two jockeys engaged to ride and also to allow for amended timeslots to the remaining Eagle Farm races.
 
King Lear – Slow to begin.
 
Sony Legend – Began awkwardly. Approaching the 1000m steadied from heels.
 
Upstart Pride – Began awkwardly. Raced wide without cover for the majority of event.
 
Manaya – Near the 1100m was steadied when tightened for room between Malvern Estate and Mr Marbellouz which shifted in. Jockey D Smith (Mr Marbellouz) was reprimanded for shifting in when insufficiently clear. Over-raced in the early stages. Near the 500m was steadied from heels.
 
Divine Dice – Raced wide without cover in the early stages.
 
In His Stride – Raced wide throughout.
 
Freddie Fox Trot – Held up rounding the home turn.
 
Cannyescent – Shifted out under pressure in the home straight.
 
Skate to Paris – Cast off fore plate in running.
 
Jockey D Griffin (Freddie Fox Trot) was fined the sum of $100 for excessive use of the whip prior to the 100m.
 
Jockey D Smith (Mr Marbellouz) was fined the sum of $200 for excessive use of the whip prior to the 100m.
