Warwick (Swab Officials), S. Rolls (Secretary) Race 1 – Tradelink Tradies Day April 13 BenchMark 75 Handicap – 900m As L. Kilner was indisposed due to injury Stewards permitted M. Shimodaira to be substituted as the rider of My Cousin Rhett. Trainer G. Cornish was fined $100 for the late declaration of J. Hodge as the rider of High Cost. Killerman’s Run – Began awkwardly. High Cost – Lost an off fore plate in running. Removal – Lost a near hind plate in running. Race 2 – TAB Class 4 Handicap – 1800m Trainer W. Bannerot was fined $100 for the late declaration of N. Thomas as the rider of Sail The Stars. Winning Ways – Slow to begin. Angela’s Beauty – When questioned regarding the tactics adopted jockey N. Day stated that he was instructed to settle one out one back. Jockey Day added that in the early stages he was caught three wide and given the instructions he was reluctant to improve forward in an attempt to settle outside the leader. Jockey Day further added that he was also reluctant to restrain to settle behind the favourite Winning Ways as he did not want to trail that horse in a slowly run race and as a consequence he was caught wide without cover throughout. Race 3 – TAB QTIS 2YO Colts & Geldings Maiden Plate – 1200m Madcall – Proved difficult to load. Raced ungenerously in the early stages. Picton – Leaving the 800m was bumped by Southcurly, taken wider on the track and subsequently raced four wide without cover for the remainder of the event. Southcurly – Raced three wide without cover over the final 800m. A post race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Race 4 – Heineken Gold Coast Cup May 4 QTIS 2YO Fillies Maiden Plate – 1200m Winning Shot – Fractious in the barriers. Just Cosmos – Slow to begin. Tedder Express – Laid in during the early stages and near the 1000m bumped Howitzer. Howitzer – Bumped near the 1000m. Buckets Of Pride – Raced wide without cover throughout. Race 5 – Heineken Lawn Party Class 3 Plate – 1200m Paroo River was declared a late scratching at 9 a.m. by order of Stewards acting on veterinary advice. Trainer T. McCarthy was advised that a veterinary clearance will be required prior to the gelding racing again. Go Dixie – Bumped at the start. Sogni – Bumped at the start. Laid in under pressure in the home straight. Race 6 – Gallery Buffet $69PP Maiden Handicap – 1300m Stewards accepted the explanation tendered by trainer G. Baker for the late declaration of C. Small as the rider of Rolling Reign. The start was delayed when Scantily Clad refused to load and was subsequently declared a late scratching by order of Stewards at 3.59 p.m. All monies invested on Scantily Clad were ordered to be refunded. Deductions applicable to bets placed on winner and place-getters prior to 3.59 p.m.:- 4 cents in the dollar for the win - #8 (Guise)4 cents in the dollar for the place of winner - #8 (Guise) 4 cents in the dollar for 2nd place - #18 (Balerion)4 cents in the dollar for 3rd place - #12 (Beatrice Was Loved) Trainer G. A barrier attendant who was injured when attempting to load the mare, was examined by the QAS officers before being transported to the Gold Coast University Hospital for x-rays. Balerion – Bumped at the start. Guise – Bumped at the start. Blundered near the 1000m. Flying Pretty – Slow to begin. Raced without cover throughout. The Demtel Man – Hung out under pressure in the home straight. Race 7 – Win A Share In A Racehorse Colts, Geldings & Entires Class 1 Handicap – 1400m The start was delayed when Saibye got its near hind up on multiple occasions after being placed in the barriers. Brookajoe – Bumped at the start. Three Stooges – Bumped at the start. Saibye – Slow to begin. Brickhall – Slow to begin. Super Kids – Jockey G. Colless reported that the gelding did not appreciate today’s heavy track conditions. Race 8 – TAB Rewards Fillies & Mares Class 1 Handicap – 1400m Shijin – Began awkwardly. Golden Lily – Overraced in the early stages. Hakwa – Near the 1000m had to be steadied from the heels of Mother To Race Her, which shifted out. Raced wide without cover throughout.
