Supplementary
 
Stewards today enquired into a report from the Integrity Investigations Team that two unlicensed persons were working as stablehands on Wednesday morning 27 November 2019. After considering the evidence and speaking to the two unlicensed persons Stewards issued a charge under the provisions of LR7(e). Both Mr C. Furner and Miss M. Sheppard pleaded guilty to the charge and were each fined $200.

Trainer K. Kemp advised Stewards that COUNTRY SHOWGIRL had pulled up shin sore after its run and would now be sent for an immediate spell.
 
General
 
As J. Hodge was indisposed due to injury Stewards permitted rider replacements as per the Stewards Race Day Summary.
 
Race 1 – Vili’s Family Bakery Maiden Plate – 900m
 
DEGRADGRA – Slow to begin.
 
OSAYCAN – Slow to begin. Approaching the 250m was bumped by TENKAYE and had some difficulty obtaining clear running.
IMPROVING – Began awkwardly and shifted in. Jockey R. Plumb reported that the gelding proved disappointing in the home straight and in his opinion may not have appreciated today’s track conditions. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities.
 
CANUSEE – Began awkwardly and shortly after was inconvenienced by IMPROVING, which laid in.
 
FRANGLAIS – Approaching the 600m had to be checked when tightened for room by SNAP THE LUCK, which shifted in. Then forced to shift out to avoid that runner’s heels and lost ground. Jockey B. Ainsworth (SNAP THE LUCK) was reprimanded under the provisions of AR131(a) for shifting in when not fully clear.  
 
SNAP THE LUCK – Raced three wide without cover throughout. Raced greenly rounding the home turn and laid out. Approaching the 100m when under riding laid in causing its rider to stop riding and straighten, was bumped on the hind quarters and became unbalanced.
 
TENKAYE – Raced four wide without cover throughout. After passing the 300m when placed under pressure laid in.
 
HIDDEN STORM – Approaching the 50m was bumped by SNAP THE LUCK.
 
Following his ride in this event  Jockey A. Spinks reported he was feeling ill and was subsequently stood down by the QAS officers for the remainder of the day and was replaced by J. Taylor as the rider of MALEKO in Race 8.
 
 
Race 2 – Couldn’t You Go A Vili’s Class 3 Handicap – 2200m
 
MISSED THE ALARM – Fractious in the gates and reared as the start was effected. Laid out over the final 200m and finished wide on the course.
 
 
Race 3 – Master Foods Fillies & Mares Class 2 Plate – 1200m
 
PORTUGUESE TART – Slow to begin.
 
POWER RUSH – Began awkwardly.
 
DOLLY SPARTAN – Passing the 1000m had to be eased when crossed by TOUJOURS L’AMOUR.
 
AMORE DANZA – Passing the 1000m was crowded for room to the inside of DOLLY SPARTAN, which was taken in by TOUJOURS L’AMOUR.
 
ARQUERA – After being fairly away from a wide barrier was allowed to stride forward to obtain a position outside the lead passing the 900m.
 
 
Race 4 – Tip Top Foodservice Maiden Handicap – 1400m
 
PHOENIX SHADOW – Began awkwardly. Passing the 800m shifted three wide to improve. A post race veterinary revealed the gelding to be suffering from heat stress. The gelding was subsequently treated by the veterinary surgeon prior to leaving the course.
 
TAKEMEOUTBACK – Began awkwardly and shifted out.
 
WIND RIVER – Crowded for room on jumping to the inside of IGNITE THE MAGIC and to the outside of TAKEMEOUTBACK, which shifted out. Approaching the 200m improved onto heels and had to alter course to obtain clear running.
 
OUR RED JET – Shortly after the start was crowded for room, had to be checked and lost ground when HELSUN laid in despite the efforts of its rider. Raced wide rounding the home turn.
 
HELSUN – After passing the 1200m when in a trailing position towards the rear of the field commenced to overrace and got its head up when being restrained. Held up for clear running from the 500m until passing the 300m.
 
HOT GAMBLER – Passing the 1000m had to be steadied when crossed by MISS CRONULLA.
 
FROM THE GONG – Raced four wide without cover after passing the 800m.
 
QUEEN OF EMERALDS – Laid out under pressure over the final 200m and finished wider on the course.
 
IGNITE THE MAGIC – Raced three wide without cover throughout. Lost the near fore plate in running.
 
CALABRIA – A post race veterinary examination revealed the mare to be suffering from heat stress.
 
 
Race 5 – Pacific West QTIS 3YO Maiden Handicap – 1400m
 
GANDIVA – Stable representative advised the horse would be ridden in the second half of the field if circumstances permit. After beginning well Jockey G. Colless attempted to restrain to obtain cover, however the filly commenced to overrace and was unable to be restrained to a rearward position and overraced in the position outside the leader.  
 
BAD INK – Slow to begin and then hampered.
 
MISSILE MANIA – Began awkwardly.
 
BAY NOT GREY – Passing the 1000m had to be steadied when crowded for room by BAD INK, which was taken in by OCTAVIAN, which laid in.
 
OCTAVIAN – Passing the 1000m laid in for a short distance despite the efforts of its rider. Raced three wide with cover throughout.
 
FALLOW – Laid out under pressure over the final 50m inconveniencing CENTRAL AMERICA.
 
CENTRAL AMERICA – Approaching the winning post had to alter course when awkwardly placed at the heels of FALLOW.
 
ABOVE THE SKY – Raced three wide without cover throughout. Raced wide rounding the home turn.
 
Following the running of this race Jockey G. Colless reported he was ill and was examined by the QAS officers and subsequently replaced by T. Marshall as the rider of YEAH THE BOYS (Race 7) and B. Ainsworth as the rider of A LITTLE CRAFTY (Race 8).
 
 
Race 6 – McCain Foods Benchmark 65 Handicap – 1400m
 
MUFASTA – Slow to begin.
 
THE EQUALIZER – Blundered on jumping.
 
THE KINGDOM – Held up rounding the home turn and had difficulty obtaining clear running passing the 200m before obtaining clear running approaching the 150m.
 
DRYSDALE SPIRIT – Shortly after straightening laid in. Approaching the 200m was bumped heavily by THE KINGDOM, which shifted out to improve. Jockey A. Chau was reprimanded under the provisions of AR131(a) for shifting ground when insufficiently clear.
 
CHARLIE CAT – Raced three wide without cover throughout.
 
COUNTER MEAL – When questioned regarding the tactics adopted Jockey B. Ainsworth explained her instructions from Trainer P. Butterworth were to obtain cover just behind the leaders if possible.  However, after beginning from a wide barrier and progressing forward was caught three wide and she therefore elected to allow the gelding to stride forward and obtain the position outside the leader passing the 1000m. Stewards noted her explanation.
 
 
Race 7 – Nestle Colts, Geldings & Entires Class 2 Plate – 1200m
 
MAKFI AMOUR – Fractious in the gates and reared prior to the start being effected.
 
MULWALA CANAL – Fractious in the gates, slow to begin and was bumped on jumping.
 
TOFU MICK – Began awkwardly and shifted in.
 
GREY SKIES – When questioned regarding her riding App A. Patis explained the gelding was somewhat of a handful in the preliminary on the way to the start. App Patis added that as the start was effected the gelding began awkwardly, threw its head in the air and was reluctant to compete in the early stages of the event before settling into stride. App Patis further added that she desisted from pressuring the gelding over the final 100m as she was of the opinion it was racing greenly and shifting ground. Trainer R. Drysdale was advised that a warning would be placed against GREY SKIES for its racing manners.
 
AMAZINGLY – Laid in under pressure over the final 80m.
 
 
Race 8 – PFD Foodservice Gold Coast Class 1 Handicap – 1800m
 
A LITTLE CRAFTY – Slow to begin. A post race veterinary examination at the request of Trainer J. Hepworth failed to reveal any abnormalities. Mr Hepworth was advised by Stewards that a warning would be placed against the gelding for poor performance. Mr Hepworth advised that he would notify Stewards should anything come to light in the subsequent days which may have had a bearing on its performance.
 
TOP ME UP AGAIN – Began awkwardly.
 
BRANDO – Bumped on jumping. Approaching the 400m improved onto the heels of the weakening MALEKO, had to be checked and was then held up for clear running until approaching the 250m.
 
ARABELLA EKCELS – Made the first turn awkwardly and shifted out before being allowed to stride forward to obtain the lead passing the 1000m.
 
GRINZINGER CHARGER – Passing the 1000m was crowded for room by ARABELLA EKCELS and brushed the running rail and became unbalanced. App Jockey A. Patis was reprimanded under the provisions of AR131(a) for shifting in when not fully clear. App N. Fazackerley (GRINZINGER CHARGER) pleaded guilty to a charge under the provisions of AR211(1) for returning to scale over the allowable limit. App Fazackerley was subsequently fined $300.
 
FINNFERNO – Approaching the 400m had to alter course and shifted to the outside to avoid the heels of BRANDO, which shifted wider on the track.
 
MALEKO – Put in an awkward stride and blundered passing the 400m.
 
HEATHROW – Laid in under pressure over the final 300m.
 
READABEEL – When questioned regarding the seemingly improved performance Trainer A. Usher explained that the mare has only just recently joined her stable. Mrs Usher further added that READABEEL has worked well leading into today’s event and has a good turn of foot, which was able to be displayed today with a genuine run race over the longer trip.
