Race 1 – Hideaway Kitchen & Bar Class 3 Handicap – 1800m
 
SINGLE STORY – Slow to begin.
 
DRAMATIC MOMENTS – Slow to begin.
 
Jockeys R. Stewart (JEOPARDISE ME) and S. Cormack (DRAMATIC MOMENTS) were both reminded of their obligations regarding their whip use prior to the 100m.
 
Following the running of this event the track was upgraded to a Soft 5.
 
 
Race 2 – Mr Hizola’s Fillies & Mares Maiden Handicap – 1200m
 
The start was delayed when XUANNU had to be resaddled.
 
PRINCESS SPARKLES – Proved difficult to load. Began awkwardly and shifted in.
 
FAITH AND LOVE – Bumped heavily on jumping between runners and became unbalanced.
 
SUNDAY SASSY – Began awkwardly. Raced ungenerously and had to be steadied away from heels approaching the 600m.
 
 
EULEILAH – Began awkwardly and shifted out. Raced three wide without cover in the early stages before obtaining cover passing the 700m. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the mare to have a poor post-race recovery and to be exhibiting signs of the thumps.
 
KIWI SHOWGIRL – Bumped on jumping and forced wider on the course.
 
RONNANI – Shortly after the start was inconvenienced by KIWI SHOWGIRL.
 
DOTNED – After being crossed by other runners shortly after the start commenced to overrace, resented being restrained and threw its head in the air for a short distance. A post race veterinary examination revealed the filly to be lame in the near fore leg. Trainer M. Palmer was advised that a veterinary clearance must be produced prior to the filly racing again.
 
XUANNU – After passing the 500m commenced to lay out and made the home turn awkwardly. Then continued to lay out when placed under pressure in the home straight.
 
Race 3 – Coopers Brewing Colts, Geldings & Entires Maiden Handicap – 1200m
 
Due to a miscommunication with Racing Australia HOSTWIN AURORA was listed with winkers off when in fact there was no gear change and the gelding was permitted to race with winkers on.
 
The start was delayed when PITTSBURGH PHIL reared, was removed from the barriers, examined by the veterinary surgeon and subsequently cleared to start. Then prior to being reloaded had to be resaddled.
 
INTERACT – Slow to muster speed in the early stages.
 
MR AZRAY - Slow to muster speed in the early stages.
 
PITTSBURGH PHIL – Began awkwardly. Passing the 400m initially crowded for room and was then bumped heavily SEA RAIDER, which was shifting out to improve. Lost an off fore plate in running.
 
SOLACE ROYALE – Made the turn at the 900m awkwardly and hung out.
 
HOSTWIN AURORA – Passing the 400m was bumped and taken wider on the course by PITTSBURGH PHIL, which was taken out by SEA RAIDER.  
 
DANSDALE – After passing the 400m had to be steadied when awkwardly placed at the heels of HOSTWIN AURORA.
 
Race 4 – Brown Forman Benchmark 65 Handicap – 900m
 
SEEYARON – Began awkwardly and shifted out.
 
COSSIE – Slightly inconvenienced on jumping by SEEYARON. Raced three wide with cover throughout.
 
GRACE OF MONACO – Raced in restricted room passing the 600m.
 
MIGHTY MITTERE – Raced three wide without cover throughout.
 
SOUBRETTE – Raced three wide with cover throughout.
 
Following the running of this event the track was upgraded to a Good 4.
 
Race 5 – FMD Produce/Sam’s Butcher QTIS 3YO Handicap – 1200m
 
Stewards accepted the reason for R. Maloney being unable to fulfil his engagement on ENSENADA and subsequently permitted R. Stewart to be substituted as the rider.
 
SIDEKISS – Slow to begin.
 
DEEP SORROW – Slow to begin. Crowded for room shortly after jumping and lost ground.
 
TOFFIE LADY – Laid in shortly after jumping tightening runners to its inside. Then continued to hang in proving difficult to ride for the remainder of the event.
 
CALL ME STIRLING – Crowded for room at the start by TOFFIE LADY, which laid in. After travelling 100m became awkwardly placed at the heels of BETTER THAN GROOVY and blundered.
 
THE STOCKBROKER – Passing the 800m when racing keenly blundered of its own accord.
 
COUP – Approaching the 700m improved onto the heels of BETTER THAN GROOVY and had to be restrained.
 
ENSENADA – Passing the 500m was crowded for room by CALL ME STIRLING, which shifted out slightly and DEEP SORROW, which shifted in slightly.
 
Race 6 – Wipeout Demolition/Coastline Building BM 55 Handicap – 1400m
 
As R. Plumb was indisposed due to illness Stewards permitted App S. Thornton to be substituted as the rider of GENOA.
 
C’MOME PADDYREILLY – Slow to begin.
 
LADY EIGHTY EIGHT – Slow to begin.
 
AMAZINGLY – Began awkwardly. Raced three wide without cover throughout.
 
BRAHMA ARMOUR – Blundered on jumping unbalancing its rider.
 
RED CALVARY – After passing the 900m when in a rearward travelling position commenced to overrace and had to be restrained from the heels of THE WARDSMEN.
 
TYRES ARE CRUCIAL – Lost an off hind plate in running.
 
 
Race 7 – Halewood Wines & Spirits Australia 0-75 Handicap – 1400m
 
As N. Keal was indisposed due to personal reasons Stewards permitted App A. Thompson to be substituted as the rider of ELJETEM.
 
SLEEPY HEART – Trainer M. Dunn advised the intention would be for the mare to race in the second half of the field if circumstances permit. The mare was ridden at the rear of the field.
 
PLUMARO – Bumped on jumping and lost ground.
 
NATURAL FORCE – Began awkwardly and shifted out.                    
 
ONLY WANNA SING – Approaching the 200m steadied when tightened for room between COUNTER MEAL and SLEEPY HEART, which shifted in under riding. Then after passing the 100m improved onto the heels of SLEEPY HEART and went to the line without being fully tested. Jockey R. Stewart (SLEEPY HEART) was reprimanded for careless riding under AR131(a) for shifting in when not fully clear.
 
 
Race 8 – TAB Class 2 Handicap – 1200m
 
LET’S PARTY MARTY – Trainer A. Plumb advised the intention would be to ride the gelding in a forward position if circumstances permit. The gelding was ridden forward and obtained the lead.
 
MYSTIC EYES – Fractious in the gates prior to the start being effected.
 
OUR ECHO – After beginning from a wide barrier was restrained to the rear of the field to obtain a position closer to the rail.
 
LUCAP – Began awkwardly and bumped the hind quarters of MYSTIC EYES.
 
HARD YAGA – Began awkwardly. Raced three wide without cover throughout.
 
PORTUGUESE TART – Bumped on jumping. Held up rounding the home turn.
 
CROWD SURFER – Bumped on jumping. Raced three wide with cover throughout. Approaching the 100m laid in under riding and became awkwardly placed at the heels of CENTREFIRE and had to be steadied.
 
CENTREFIRE – Laid out under riding over the final 100m.
