Race 2 – Moo Moos Maiden Handicap – 1800mActing on veterinary advice, RADICAL SPIRIT was a late scratching at 11.10am after injuring its off hind hoof during transit to the course. Connections were advised that a veterinary clearance would be required before the fillys next race start.Jockey L. Dittman was granted permission to ride DOOMSIE ½ kg over its allotted weight due to the current health restrictions.App. S. Tomlinson was permitted to claim 2.5kg of her 3kg claim on HIGHLAND REBEL due to the current health restrictions.GAMMA – Slow to begin.WALK ON BY – Slow to begin.JUST WISHING – Raced ungenerously for a short distance near the 1600m.MATCH DAY – Compounded leaving the 900m, being retired from the race. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to have suffered a bleeding attack during the race. Trainer J. Wilcock was advised that the horse would incur the mandatory ban under AR79(4) and be banned from racing for a period of 3 months and then must perform to the satisfaction of Stewards over a 1000m gallop prior to being permitted to race again.WURNIC – A post-race veterinary examination revealed the horse to be stepping short in front. Race 3 – Yiros Shop Class 1 Handicap – 1800mNORTHERN DRAGON– Slow to begin.TIOMO – Slow to begin.RELIABLE LASS – Commenced to over-race leaving the 1700m and continued to do so for a short distance.BRYBECK – Improved onto heels near the 1500m and was restrained.CONCAVE – Momentarily held up for clear running entering the home straight.EVIE MATILDA – Raced wide in the early stages. Race 4 – Murwillumbah Services Club Maiden Handicap – 1200MASVATARA – Slow to begin.TIRALARC – Slow to begin. Raced wide for the majority of the race.CENTENARY STAR – Shifted inwards soon after the start tightening another runner. Tightened between runners near the 900m having to be restrained. Shifted out under pressure near the 100m bumping another runner on its hindquarters and became unbalanced. MINT STRIP – Tightened for room soon after the start and lost ground.FLAG RAISER – Shifted out near the 900m tightening runners to its outside. Rider D. Griffin was advised to show greater care.RESTA – Shifted in near the 900m when racing ungenerously tightening runners to its inside. Whilst Stewards noted the horses racing manners, he was nonetheless advised to show greater care in similar circumstances. Hampered by another runner which shifted out near the 100m. Raced wide for the majority of the race. SNIT BALL – Became unbalanced near the 50m having to be corrected.WITCHEL – Bumped by another runner which shifted out near the 100m.REDOUBTABLE – Raced ungenerously approaching the winning post having to be steadied.PRINCE DUPORTH – Had a tendency to lay in under pressure over the concluding stages. Raced wide for the majority of the race.MAHSTAR – Rider G. Colless reported that the gelding was on one rein rounding the home turn. Race 5 – Club Pine Rivers Class 4 Handicap – 1400mAs Jockey J. Guthmann-Chester indicated that he was to be 1kg over the allotted weight, connections opted to have him replaced by Jockey A. Allen who would be ½kg over the allotted weight on TOO HOT TO HOLD, this being as a result of the current health restrictions.Correct weight was delayed to allow the 2nd placegetter, Jockey L. Dittman (TRIPLE ARROW), to view the patrol films to ascertain whether he had grounds to lodge a protest against the winner JACKPOT JAY (Jockey A. Chau) on the grounds of alleged interference over the final 200m. After viewing the film, Jockey Dittman advised that he did not wish to proceed with the protest.TOO HOT TO HOLD – Slow to begin. Rider A. Cowan advised Stewards that it would now be his intention that the horse be sent for an immediate spell.ZILITOR– Lost its off hind plate in running.Race 8 – Commercial Kitchen Company Class 1 Plate – 1400mTrainer C. Anderson was fined $100 for the late declaration of Jockey D. Griffin on SUGAR ZONE.As Jockey P. Hammersley was not riding at todays meeting, he was replaced on AMAZINGLY by Jockey J. Grisedale.GROUP THINK – Slow to begin. Raced wide for the majority of the race.PARLANDE – Slow to begin.MOUNT PANORAMA – Slow to begin.QUALIFY – Raced wide for the majority of the race.Stewards enquired into the reason CANDY FLOSS (App. S. Tomlinson) appeared to clip heels and fall shortly after passing the winning post dislodging its rider. After considering evidence from Jockey A. Chau (THE DARK) and App. S. Tomlinson and viewing the official race film, it was established that CANDY FLOSS improved onto the heels of THE DARK clipping that runners heels, falling and dislodging App. S. Tomlinson. As Stewards could hold no one rider at fault and deemed this an unfortunate racing incident, no further action was taken other than to advise App. Tomlinson that he should continue to remain alert until dismounting his horse. A post-race veterinary examination revealed CANDY FLOSS to have blood in its off side nostril which was attributed to trauma and soreness in the back area.
