·         As Jockeys G. Colless and A. Mallyon were unable to make the allotted weights on their lower weighted horses today replacements were made as per the Stewards Race Day Summary and both riders were each fined $200.
·         Jockey A. Chau was unable to make the allotted weights on his lower weighted horses in a number of races today replacements were made as per the Stewards Race Day Summary and he was fined $300.

Race 1 – AQUIS QTIS 2YO Handicap – 1100m
Stewards accepted the explanation tendered by Trainer T. Edmonds for the late declaration of N. Tomizawa as the rider of PAREDO.
 
RUDDOCK – Slow to begin.
 
FUNKY BEAT – Slow to begin.
 
CLAIRVUE STAR – Slow to begin. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
 
SPIRIT ONE – Shifted out on jumping tightening runners to its outside.
 
ELKA ELEVEN – Shifted in on jumping tightening runners to its inside.
 
MISHANI REBEL – Tightened for room on jumping.
 
SIZZLEPEL – Tightened for room on jumping. Raced wide for the majority of the race.
 
PERNELL – Became awkward in its action near the 200m before being corrected, Raced wide for the majority of the race.
 
Race 2 – Caravan Industry of Australia Maiden Plate – 1200m
Stewards acceded to a request from App N. Keal (MISHANI LEGEND) to only claim 1.5 kilos of his declared riding weight.  Trainer T. Pascoe was agreeable to this request which was broadcast through to media outlets. Whilst Stewards noted the mitigating circumstances App Keal was  nonetheless reminded of his obligation to be able to make his declared riding weights.
 
ELEGANT GRACE which was fractious in the barriers was examined by the veterinary surgeon and found to have soreness in its off hind leg. ELEGANT GRACE was declared a late scratching at 11.12 a.m. on veterinary advice. All monies invested on ELEGANT GRACE were ordered to be refunded. Deductions applicable to bets placed on winner and placegetters prior to 11.12 a.m.:-

23 cents in the dollar for the place of winner #10 (CALL ME TILLY)

Connections were advised that a veterinary clearance must be provided prior to ELEGANT GRACE being permitted to race again.
 
MISHANI LEGEND – Jumped outwards at the start bumping with another runner and lost ground.
 
THE GOOD THE BAD – Bumped by another runner on jumping.
 
CALL ME TILLY – Slow to begin. Laid out under pressure in the home straight.
 
VIKING CLAP – Shifted out on jumping tightening runners to its outside.
 
HARRYUP – Jumped inwards at the start tightening runners to its inside. Raced wide for the majority of the race.
 
THE CHOSEN ONE – Tightened for room on jumping.
 
RONNIE – Tightened for room on jumping.
 
VITTORINA – Shifted in near the 900m momentarily tightening another runner. Jockey G. Colless was advised to show greater care in similar circumstances.
 
JUXTAPOSED – Momentarily tightened for room near the 900m and was steadied.
 
RUFFIN’ IT – Raced wide for the majority of the race.
 
Race 3 – Dr Glen McCabe Memorial Maiden Plate – 1200m
The start was delayed when NO HARM DONE made contact with the running rail behind the barriers, was examined by the veterinary surgeon and cleared to start.
 
The start was further delayed when KRUSTALLOS reared in the barriers striking its head. KRUSTALLOS was examined by the veterinary surgeon was declared a late scratching at 11.50 a.m. All monies invested on KRUSTALLOS were ordered to be refunded. Deductions applicable to bets placed on winner and placegetters prior to 11.50 a.m.:-
 
5 cents in the dollar for the win #6 (ENDLESS RIVER)
3 cents in the dollar for the place of winner #6 (ENDLESS RIVER)
7 cents in the dollar for the 2nd place #11 (DENCH)
9 cents in the dollar for the 3rd place #9 (NO HARM DONE)
Connections were advised that KRUSTALLOS must obtain two (2) consecutive barrier certificate prior to being permitted to race again. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant abnormalities.
 
NO HARM DONE – Slow to begin.
 
I’M CALLIN’ DIBS – Hampered by another runner which shifted out leaving the 200m. Raced wide for the majority of the race.
 
BOOMI’S BUDDY – Shifted out leaving the 200m hampering another runner. Raced wide for the majority of the race.
 
DON’T LOOK NOW – Momentarily steadied near the 200m when crowded by another runner which shifted in.
 
RACKETEERING – Held up for clear running for the majority of the home straight and went to the line without being fully tested.
 
PADDLEPOP – Raced wide for the majority of the race.
 
EPPLAUSE – Raced wide for the majority of the race.
 
 
Race 4 – Davo’s Crane Hire Benchmark 72 Handicap – 1100m
CARRY ON RINGO – A pre-race veterinary examination revealed the mare had sustained a minor laceration to the near side stifle.Raced wide for the majority of the race.
 
IVY’S DREAM – Slow to begin. Hung in approaching the 1000m having to be corrected.
 
BEAU ARROW – Slow to begin.
 
GRENACHE – Steadied near the 1000m when crowded for room.
 
MARMARIS – Checked when tightened for room approaching the 700m.
 
MASLOW – Forced inwards by another runner approaching the 700m tightening a runner to its inside.
 
Jockey A. Mallyon (LONGBOTTOM) was found guilty of a charge of careless riding under the provisions of AR131(a) in that approaching the 700m he permitted his mount to shift in when insufficiently clear of MASLOW (R. Maloney), which was forced inwards tightening the running of MARMARIS (M. Cahill), which had to be checked and lost its rightful running. Jockey Mallyon’s licence to ride in races was suspended for a period of eight (8) days to commence midnight 8 April 2020 and expire midnight 20 April 2020. In considering penalty Stewards took into account Jockey Mallyon’s exemplary recent record.
 
 
Race 5 – Peter Gallagher Memorial Benchmark 72 Handicap – 1100m
Stewards permitted App N. Fazackerley (NAKANAI) to ride a ½ kilo over his declared riding weight. Whilst Stewards noted the mitigating circumstances App Fazackerley was  nonetheless reminded of his obligation to be able to make his declared riding weights.

HAPPY BUBBLES – Stood flatfooted and lost considerable ground. Connections were advised that the gelding must obtain two (2) consecutive barrier certificates before being permitted to race again.
 
ARCHER’S TREASURE – Momentarily steadied near the 900m when crowded for room.
 
PAY WITH CASH – Raced ungenerously in the middle stages. Raced wide for the majority of the race.
 
Race 6 – Stuart James Memorial QTIS 3YO Maiden Handicap – 1400m
AMBITIUOS RIVAL – Proved difficult to load. Raced wide for the majority of the race. Connections were advised to obtain a further barrier certificate before the gelding is permitted to race again.
 
LUCKY SENATOR – Slow to begin.
 
FAY CONQUERS ALL – Shifted out at the start tightening runners to its outside. Raced ungenerously in the middle stages and shifted wider leaving the 700m.
 
INSIDE INFORMATION – Tightened for room on jumping and lost ground.
 
RAGI MAC – Tightened for room on jumping.
 
 
Race 7 – Robina Pavillion Class 6 Handicap – 1400m
Jockey E. Ljung  (THE EQUALIZER) was dislodged on the way the barriers resulting in her having a seemingly harmless fall.
 
ECKER ROAD – Bounded in the air and lost ground at the start.
 
JACKPOT JAY – Restrained off heels when overracing near the 600m.
 
INTRINSIC – Overraced in the early and middle stages.
 
PEXBURY AVENUE – Raced wide for the majority of the race.
 
ANGELA’S BEAUTY – Raced wide for the majority of the race.
 
 
Race 8 – Vince Fitzgibbons Memorial QTIS 3YO Handicap – 1800m
GOTTA BE FIRST – Slow to begin.
 
ZIGALLENE – Bounded in the air as the start was effected and lost ground.
 
MISHANI SECRET – Overraced for a short distance leaving the 1400m and threw its head in the air when being restrained.
RED BLOOM – Overraced in the middle stages.
 
DON’T STOP – Overraced in the middle stages.
 
QUALIFY - Raced wide for the majority of the race.
 
 
Race 9- TAB Benchmark 80 Handicap – 1800m
Stewards permitted App N. Fazackerley (SAME OLD) to ride a ½ kilo over his declared riding weight.
 
TEMPA MENTAL – After being initially slow to begin was then inconvenienced by another runner, which was forced inwards.
 
LOTA CREEK GOLD – Forced inwards on jumping inconveniencing another runner.
 
ROYAL WARFARE – Shifted in abruptly on jumping inconveniencing runners to its inside. Raced wide in the early stages. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be suffering from mild heat stress.
 
MISS SHANTI – Slow to begin.
 
HOLBROOK – Raced wide in the early stages. Shifted wider leaving the 800m to improve and raced wide from that point onwards.
 
When dismounting in the enclosure Jockey M. McGillivray’s mount MISS SHANTI stood on his foot. Jockey McGillivray was subsequently examined by the QAS officers and cleared to fulfil his remaining engagements. 
 
 
 
 
 
Race 10 – AQUIS Open Handicap – 1200m
SIMPLY SPLASHING – Shifted in at the start bumping with another runner.
 
BOOMWAA – Bumped by another runner at the start causing it to shift in making contact with another runner.
 
GREY MISSILE – Bumped by another runner, which shifted in at the start.
 
SPURCRAFT – Began awkwardly. Raced wide for the majority of the race.
 
BEL BURGESS – Raced wide for the majority of the race.
 
BANDIPUR – Raced wide for the majority of the race.
 
BOOM CHICKA BOOM – Raced wide for the majority of the race.
 
FREDDIE FOX TROT – Raced wide for the majority of the race. Lost its off hind plate in running.
 
 
Race 11 – TAB Benchmark 72 Handicap – 1400m
SHIJIN – The stable representative advised it would be the intention to have the horse lead if possible today if circumstances permit. The horse was ridden accordingly.
 
SHACKLES – Slipped when proceeding to the saddling enclosure shifting its off hind plate. After being replated and examined by the veterinary surgeon was cleared to start. Blundered badly on jumping becoming unbalanced and shifted out making contact with another runner.
 
MR TICKETS – Blundered on jumping. Momentarily held up for clear running near the 200m.
 
INDIAN DREAMER – Slow to begin.
 
JARHEAD – Bumped by another runner on jumping.
 
MAGIC BEANS – Bumped by another runner on jumping and shifted out. Improved onto heels near the 300m and was steadied.
 
TEMUJIN’S RULE – Raced wide for the majority of the race.
 
COMMISSIONER - Raced wide for the majority of the race.
 
BOLD WARRIOR - Raced wide for the majority of the race.
 
FANX – When asked to explain the performance Jockey R. Plumb stated that in his opinion the horse races better when able to lead the race and dictate the speed.  However, today’s race was not suitable to its racing pattern and as a result failed to respond to his riding when placed under pressure and compounded in the home straight.
