Race 1: TAB Maiden Plate – 2200m
 
LEICABLE – Slow to begin.
 
REAL IT IN – Slow to begin. Raced in restricted room for a short distance near the 800m.
 
FIORELLI – Began awkwardly and lost ground.
 
BAY NOT GREY – Raced ungenerously for a short distance leaving the 1800m. Finished tailed off. When questioned regarding the performance Jockey D. Smith stated the gelding raced ungenerously early however, he was of the opinion it failed to handle the heavy track conditions and as such did not place the gelding under pressure leaving the 600m. Trainer P. Duff advised Stewards he was unable to offer any tangible explanation for the gelding’s performance today other than the heavy track and that he was disappointed with its performance. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to have a slow post-race recovery.
 
RED POET – Overraced in the early stages.
 
CAIRNDOW – Raced wide in the early stages.
 
ROSIE ROSE – Laid out rounding the home turn and continued to do so under pressure in the home straight.
Following the running of this event Stewards reassessed the track to a Heavy 10 retrospective.
 
 
Race 2: Olmedo @ AQUIS In 2020 QTIS 2YO Maiden Plate – 1400m
 
SEMIFOX – Slow to begin.
 
MARTO – Slow to begin. Had a tendency to overrace in the middle stages.
 
HANGIN’ HIGH – Overraced in the early stages. Had to be steadied and shifted in when hampered by HAZ DE BEE, which shifted in near the 300m. Laid out under pressure approaching the winning post hampering HAZ DE BEE, which had to be steadied from the heels of MO’UNGA.
 
HAZ DE BEE – Shifted out rounding the home turn forcing DUSTINS wider, which in turn forced MO’UNGA wider. Shifted in near the 300m hampering HANGIN’ HIGH.
 
DUSTINS – Forced wider rounding the home turn.
 
MO’UNGA – Forced wider rounding the home turn.
 
 
Race 3: Dubious @ AQUIS In 2020 Maiden Handicap – 1400m
 
Trainer J. Dunn was fined $100 for the late declaration of M. Hellyer as the rider of JIMMY NEUTRON.
 
JIMMY NEUTRON – Stood flatfooted as the start was effected and lost considerable ground. Trainer J. Dunn was advised that the gelding must obtain a further barrier certificate prior to being permitted to race.
 
BURN THE BOATS – Slow to begin.
 
WIND RIVER – Slow to begin.
 
RIVERKY – Threw its head in the air on jumping. Raced ungenerously in the early stages. Raced wide for the majority of the race.
 
TEXAS TRAMP – Began awkwardly. Shifted out near the 450m bumping TO DEM WITH LOVE.
 
CESCA – Overraced in the early stages.
 
TO DEM WITH LOVE – Bumped by TEXAS TRAMP near the 450m. Bumped near the 300m by FAST THINKER, which shifted out. Raced wide without cover for the majority of the race.
 
FAST THINKER – Shifted out under pressure near the 300m bumping TO DEM WITH LOVE.
 
MIRACLE – A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be lame in the off fore leg. Trainer J. Smerdon was advised he must provide a veterinary clearance prior to the gelding racing again.
 
Jockey M. Cahill (FAST THINKER) was cautioned in regards to his use of the whip prior to the 100m.
 
 
Race 4: Pierata @ AQUIS In 2020 Benchmark 65 Handicap – 900m
 
GENERAL WITT – Bounded in the air as the start was effected and lost ground.
 
FOR MY ANNIE – Began very awkwardly throwing its head in the air and lost significant ground. As the horse had been fractious in the barriers and proved difficult for App Kennedy Stewards advised Ms Kennedy to seek further tuition from Racing Queensland Training Department in assisting her in handling fractious horses in the barriers. This was brought to the attention of her Master Mr N. Hocking.
 
TULLIO – Began awkwardly.
 
TOUJOURS L’AMOUR – Shifted out bumping MORT DOYLE near the 100m and became unbalanced.
 
MORT DOYLE – Shifted in slightly near the 100m bumping with TOUJOURS L’AMOUR. Raced wide for the majority of the race.
 
L’AMANTE – Raced wide for the majority of the race.
 
SPECIAL CASE – Leaving the 700m shifted in becoming awkwardly placed on the heels of L’AMANTE. Raced wide for the majority of the race.
 
 
Race 5: TAB Benchmark 68 Handicap – 1200m
 
As Jockey J. Hodge was overweight Stewards permitted M. Hellyer to be substituted as the rider of ROUND MOUNTAIN GEM. Jockey Hodge was subsequently reprimanded.

TRAIL OF GLORY – Began awkwardly.
 
AMSCHEL – Raced keenly in the middle stages.
 
UNCONDITIONAL – Laid out under pressure in the home straight proving difficult to ride. Whilst Stewards noted the racing manners of UNCONDITIONAL App N. Fazackerley was nonetheless admonished and reminded of his obligations to push his mounts out right to the finish line.
 
SHEAR VOGUE – Raced three wide without cover for the majority of the race.
 
 
 
Race 6: Olmedo @ AQUIS In 2020 Class 2 Handicap – Approx 1750m
 
After an inspection of the track near the 1800m chute Stewards deemed that section unsuitable and the distance of Race 6 was subsequently amended from 1800m to approximately 1750m. The relevant public announcements were made to this effect. 
 
REAGAN’S MISTAKE – Put its head down just prior to the start being effected and lost ground. Raced wide for the majority of the race and without cover from the 1000m.
 
BEYOND DESIRE – Began awkwardly and shifted in making heavy contact with MILL CITY.
 
MILL CITY – Bumped heavily on jumping becoming unbalanced and lost ground.
 
OPEN ROAD – Raced wide in the early stages without cover.
 
EL CHAPARRO – Held up for clear running on the heels of REAGAN’S MISTAKE and was unable to improve approaching the home turn.
 
 
Race 7: Dubious @ AQUIS In 2020 Class 4 Plate – 1400m
 
SEA RAIDER – Jumped outwards at the start bumping CAREERING AWAY.
 
CAREERING AWAY – Bumped on jumping. Raced wide for the majority of the race.
 
MY BELLY BUTTON – Slow to begin. Overraced in the early stages. Jockey A. Mallyon was reminded of his obligations in relation to the use of the whip prior to the 100m.
 
EIRA – Raced three wide without cover for the majority of the race.
 
 
Race 8: XXXX Dry Class 1 Handicap – 1400m
 
SHOPPING ESPRIT – Stood flatfooted as the start was effected and lost considerable ground. Raced wide for the majority of the race. Trainer S. Andersen was advised that the gelding must obtain a further barrier certificate prior to being permitted to race.
 
ZOFGOLD – Began awkwardly and shifted out making contact with PEPPINO.
 
PEPPINO – Bumped on jumping.
 
ARABELLA EKCELS – Raced four wide without cover for the majority of the race.
 
BAMBALAM – Raced wide for the majority of the race.
 
PRINCESS SPARKLES – Raced wide for the majority of the race.
