Race 1: National Jockey Celebration Day Maiden Plate – 900m
 
THREEPOINT MISSILE – Slow to begin.
 
SIR EDMUND – Slow to begin. A post-race veterinary examination of the gelding, which made a respiratory noise on pulling up, failed to reveal any abnormalities.
 
HEATON PARK – Began awkwardly and shifted out bumping MAGIC AMELIA, which shifted in when bumped by FAITH AND LOVE. HEATON PARK blundered in this incident.
 
FAITH AND LOVE – Began awkwardly and shifted inwards bumping MAGIC AMELIA. Laid out rounding the home turn. Jockey A. Allen was cautioned in relation to making a celebratory gesture prior to the winning post.
 
MAGIC AMELIA – Bumped on jumping by FAITH AND LOVE, which shifted inwards. Jumped a patch on the track near the 700m. Raced greenly throughout the event
 
DERUMOR – Raced wide for the majority of the event.
 
WAIKATO – Raced wide for the majority of the event.
 
Jockey V. Venkaya (SIR EDMUND) was reprimanded for using his whip on eight occasions prior to the 100m. Jockey Venkaya was further reprimanded regarding the use of his whip on a horse out of contention.
 
 
Race 2: Turners Engineering Class 3 Handicap – 1200m
 
PUMPS – Trainer S. Morrisey advised the intention would be to ride the horse further back in the field today if circumstances permit. The horse was ridden accordingly. Began awkwardly and lost ground. Raced ungenerously in the early stages.
 
GALAPAGOS – Slow to begin.
 
TOOMAI – Slow to begin.
 
SANGLIER – Overraced in the early stages.
 
App K. Wilson-Taylor (EXACTAMENTE) was reprimanded in that he used his whip on seven occasions prior to the 100m. App Wilson-Taylor was also reminded of his obligations to ride his mounts right out to the finish line.
 
 
Race 3: Blushield Maiden Handicap – 1100m 
 
Stewards accepted the explanation tendered for the late scratching of KID MAC at 7.42 a.m.
 
HIDDEN LILY – Slow to begin.
 
SHOOTING FOR GOLD – Slow to begin.
 
HEDONIE – Slow to begin. Raced greenly throughout the event.
 
SKILORD – Raced three wide without cover for the majority of the event. On returning to scale Jockey L. Rolls advised Stewards that he was of the opinion that the gelding got its tongue over the bit during running. Trainer B. Hill advised Stewards that it would now be his intention to experiment with a tongue-tie on the gelding for its next start.
 
 
Race 4: Pacific Petroleum Maiden Handicap – 1800m
 
TIRALARC – Trainer A. Plumb advised the intention would be to attempt to be more positive with blinkers on first time today if circumstances permit. The horse was ridden accordingly. When attempting to be ridden to instructions was unable to cross the leaders and was obliged to race wide for the majority of the event.
 
As N. Day was delayed due to transportation difficulties Stewards permitted L. Rolls to be substituted as the rider of AMY EKCELS.
 
A GLASS OF BUBBLES – Slow to begin.
 
BRADDOCK DOWN – Slow to begin. Raced wide in the early stages until leaving the 1200m when it improved to race outside the leader.
 
ROSIE ROSE – Bounded in the air as the start was effected. Held up for clear running from the 500m until entering the home straight.
 
REDENZO BULLET – Overraced in the early and middle stages.
 
AMY EKCELS – When questioned as to the seemingly improved performance Trainer L. Kelly advised that the filly had raced in a higher grade at its previous run and in his opinion performed well in that race and he had added blinkers to the horse’s gear with a step up in distance today, which he attributed to the improved performance. He further added that the filly had a very good run in transit, which was also beneficial. Stewards noted the explanation.
 
Jockey P. Payne (BRADDOCK DOWN) was reprimanded in regards to his use of the whip in a consecutive manner prior to the 100m.
 
 
Race 5: Linda Hildingsson’s Birthday Bash Class 3 Handicap – 1800m
 
STARLIGHTER – Slow to begin.
 
WILLIAM – Raced wide without cover in the early stages until a point approaching the 1200m, where it improved to race outside the leader.
 
ZIGALLENE – Had a tendency to lay out under pressure in the home straight.
 
DIPLOMATIC MISS – Jockey A. Allen reported to Stewards that the mare had a tendency to lay out from the 600m until entering the home straight.
 
PEPPINO – Lost an off fore plate in running.
 
Jockey B. Pengelly (SNIPPETSPEED) was reprimanded in that he used his whip on seven occasions prior to the 100m.
 
 
Race 6: Commercial Kitchen Company Benchmark 65 Handicap – 1200m
 
KITTY DAMOUR which was fractious during transit to the course underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was cleared to start.
 
CELTIC TIGER – Crowded for room shortly after the start and had to be steadied. Restrained near the 300m when improving onto heels.
 
JARHEAD – Tightened for room and checked near the 300m.
 
PROPS – Checked near the 300m when tightened for room.
 
App L. Kilner (CORDONED) pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under AR131(a) in that near the 300m when urging her horse forward she permitted that runner to shift out when not clear of PROPS (S. Doyle), which in turn shifted out making heavy contact with JARHEAD (N. Day), resulting in both runners being checked when becoming unbalanced. App Kilner’s licence to ride in races was suspended for a period of ten (10) days to commence midnight 5 August 2020 and expire midnight 15 August 2020.
 
 
Race 7: TSM Benchmark 78 Handicap – 1400m
 
Due to the delay in arriving on course Jockey B. Pengelly advised Stewards he did not have sufficient time to make the allocated weight to allow him to fulfil his riding engagement on BRYNEICH and was subsequently replaced by A. Chau. Stewards accepted his explanation.
 
REACH FOR HEAVEN – Slow to begin. Raced wide for the majority of the race.
 
ATOUCHMORE – Shifted in near the 1000m brushing FEW TOO MANY. Crowded for room near the 250m and shifted out bumping MR STORM. Tightened for room becoming awkward on heels having to be restrained near the 50m.
 
FEW TOO MANY – Raced ungenerously for a short distance near the 1000m when brushed by ATOUCHMORE.
 
ROSIE POSIE – Raced in restricted room for a short distance near the 450m. Shifted in approaching the 50m tightening runners to its inside before being corrected. App L. Kilner (ROSIE POSIE) was advised to show greater care.
 
MR STORM – Bumped by ATOUCHMORE, which shifted out near the 250m. Tightened for room near the 50m.Shifted out under pressure tightening TIME TO PLAY and ZOULOU DANCER, which was racing to the outside after being tightened by ROSIE POSIE, which shifted in before being corrected. Jockey C. Taylor (MR STORM) was advised to show greater care.
 
TIME TO PLAY – Bumped on the hind quarters leaving the 250m by MR STORM, which shifted out. Tightened for room near the 50m.
 
ZOULOU DANCER – Disappointed for a run approaching the 200m. Tightened for room near the 50m.
 
TYCOON STREET – Shifted out to obtain clear running leaving the 100m forcing FEW TOO MANY out crowding ATOUCHMORE, which shifted out becoming awkward on the heels of MR STORM. Jockey L. Rolls (TYCOON STREET) was reprimanded.
 
 
Race 8: Aquis Beaudesert Cup Ratings Band 0-70 Handicap – 1400m
 
Co-trainer W. Hulbert was fined $100 for failing to notify the use of synthetic hoof filler on NO REFUND.
 
HOLBROOK – Slow to begin. Raced ungenerously when placed under pressure in the home straight.
 
YABA DABL DOYA – Slow to begin. Raced wide for the majority of the event.
 
NO REFUND – Dipped near the 400m.
 
THE DEMTEL MAN – Raced wide for the majority of the event.
 
 
Race 9: Ambassador Travel Class 1 Handicap – 1300m
 
The start of this race was delayed when runners had to be removed from the barriers and placed into their correct barrier positions.
 
BRYBECK - Slow to begin.
 
PURE INDULGENCE – Raced fiercely leaving the 1000m and continued to do so for some distance and as a result raced in restricted room near the 950m. Raced wide for the majority of the race.
 
SUPER CONTENDER – Shifted in when having a tendency to lay in near the 950m causing MILLION to shift in and away from that runner placing PURE INDULGENCE, which was racing fiercely in restricted room. Jockey G. Colless was advised to make a greater effort in similar circumstances.  Raced wide for the majority of the race.
 
MILLION – Laid in and away from another runner near the 950m placing PURE INDULGENCE in restricted room. Raced wide for the majority of the race.
 
MAHUSSEY – Raced wide for the majority of the race. Lost an off hind plate in running.
 
GRAPHITE EXPRESS – Lost the off front plate in running. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to have sustained lacerations to its off front leg.
