Race 1: Vale Brian Ellis Fillies & Mares Class 2 Handicap – 1200m
 
XUANNU – Slow to begin.
 
NORM’S CHOICE – Crowded for room for a short distance after the start by TWERK, which laid in.
 
TWERK – Laid in for a short distance after the start crowding NORM’S CHOICE.
 
 
Race 2: James Shean 30th Birthday Class 2 Handicap – 900m
 
VIBRANT CITY – Began awkwardly. Overraced in the early stages. Laid out rounding the home turn.
 
DUELLATOR – Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
 
 
Race 3: Silkwood Homes QTIS 3YO Maiden Plate – 900m
 
Trainer M. Dunn was fined $100 for the late declaration of J. Taylor as the rider of ELA BEACH.
 
The start was delayed when BLUE KENTUCKY MOON shifted its off fore plate requiring farrier
attention.
 
YOU DREAMT WHAT – Slow to begin. Laid in leaving the 800m until the 600m.
 
THAT’LL BE THE DAY – Began awkwardly. Overraced in the early stages.
 
TIDDLY – Began awkwardly and shifted out forcing AQUA LADY wider. Raced wide for the majority of the race.
 
AQUA LADY – Forced wider on jumping by TIDDLY, which shifted out.  Crowded by BLUE KENTUCKY MOON, which shifted in when racing greenly near the 200m.
 
ELA BEACH – Began awkwardly and shifted out bumping heavily with ABRACADAZZLE. Jockey J. Taylor reported that the filly felt awkward in its action throughout the race. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant abnormalities.
 
ABRACADAZZLE – After being initially slow to begin was then inconvenienced when bumped heavily by ELA BEACH, which shifted out. Raced wide for the majority of the race.
 
SWEET RHAPSODY – Shifted out to obtain clear running near the 400m bumping MORICONI.
 
MORICONI – Bumped by SWEET RHAPSODY near the 400m. Raced wide for the majority of the race.
 
BLUE KENTUCKY MOON – Shifted in near the 200m crowding AQUA LADY. Raced greenly for the majority of the race.
 
 
Race 4: 19/20 GCTC Trainer Premiership Toby & Trent Edmonds Benchmark 60 Handicap – 2400m
 
PARIS CRYSTAL underwent a pre-race veterinary examination after arriving late on course and was cleared to start. A pre-race sample was taken.
 
STARRY BEAUTY – Slow to begin.
 
CATCH ME LATAR – Slow to begin. Commenced to overrace passing the winning post on the first occasion for a short distance.
 
SO YOU’RE MAGIC – Laid out rounding the 1800m turn and shifted wider on the track.
 
PARIS CRYSTAL – Shifted wider to improve leaving the 900m and raced wide from that point onwards.
 
App W. Peel (SHELTER LADY) was reprimanded for using her whip on six occasions prior to the 100m.
 
Jockey T. Harrison (SO YOU’RE MAGIC) was fined $300 for using her whip on eight occasions prior to the 100m.
Jockey V. Venkaya (PARIS CRYSTAL) pleaded guilty to a charge under AR132(7)(a)(ii) in that he used his whip eight times over the permitted allowance prior to the 100m. Jockey Venkaya’s licence to ride in races was suspended for a period of seven days to commence midnight 18 August 2020 and expire midnight 25 August 2020.
 
 
Race 5: 19/20 GCTC Jockey Premiership Dan Griffin Colts, Geldings & Entires Class 2 Handicap – 1200m
 
CHICAGO O’BRIEN – Slow to begin. Shifted in approaching the 400m bumping heavily with EXPLORATION. Crowded for room near the 200m.
 
EXPLORATION – Bumped heavily with CHICAGO O’BRIEN, which shifted in approaching the 400m.
 
GETYOURGREYON – Laid in under pressure approaching the 200m crowding CHICAGO O’BRIEN.
 

Race 6: 19/20 GCTC Apprentice Premiership Leah Kilner Maiden Handicap – 1300m
 
Trainer C. Tyrell was fined $100 for the late declaration of R. Wiggins as the rider of AUSSIE MYTHOLOGY.
 
AUSSIE MYTHOLOGY – Slow to begin. Steadied off heels approaching the winning post. Raced ungenerously for the majority of the race.
 
MACIPENKO – Slow to begin.
 
ROYALSPECTOR – Slow to begin. Raced wide for the majority of the race. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be showing signs of soreness in its near hind leg. Trainer G. Cornish was advised he must provide a veterinary clearance prior to the gelding being permitted to race again.
 
FALAEB – Shifted in bumping ELGIN near the 900m. Had a tendency to lay in throughout the race. Raced wide without cover for the majority of the race.
 
ELGIN – Raced in restricted room near the 900m having to be steadied when bumped by FALAEB. App S. Tomlinson (FALAEB) was severely reprimanded and advised to make a greater effort in similar circumstances.
 
TELEREVE – Steadied from heels near the 900m.
 
ATOMIC BOMB – Restrained from heels leaving the 900m and as a result shifted wider.
 
 
 
Race 7: 19/20 GCTC Apprentice Premiership Baylee Nothdurft Benchmark 65 Handicap – 1800m
 
PUMPS – Connections advised the intention would be to go forward from the good barrier today if circumstances permit. The horse was ridden accordingly.
 
JUST WISHING – Raced wide in the early stages. Commenced to compound leaving the 500m.
 
FLASH AAH – Commenced to overrace approaching the 1500m, became unbalanced and momentarily shifted wider on the track.
 
WILLO TITTO – Checked from the heels of the tiring JUST WISHING near the 500m and shifted in bumping SPARTAN. When questioned as to the performance of the gelding Jockey A. Chau stated that after being inconvenienced near the 500m the gelding then failed to recover in the heavy conditions and did not respond to his riding. 
 
SPARTAN – Bumped near the 500m by WILLO TITTO, which shifted in when being checked from heels.
 
GALAXY GURU – Laid in under pressure over the concluding stages.
 
CANE CUTTER – Laid in under pressure over the concluding stages.
 
 
Race 8: Pink Ribbon Raceday 19 September Ratings Band 0-58 Handicap – 1400m
 
 
FEARLESS QUEEN – Slow to begin. Lost its near fore plate in running. When questioned regarding the performance Jockey G. Colless stated that the mare failed to respond to his riding when placed under pressure in today’s track conditions.
 
MIGHTY QUINN – Slow to begin.
 
BALERION – Overraced in the early stages.
 
BRONCKS - Overraced in the early stages.
 
Jockey J. Grob (MILLION) was reprimanded for using his whip on seven occasions prior to the 100m.
 
Jockey G. Colless (FEARLESS QUEEN) was reprimanded for using his whip on seven occasions prior to the 100m.
