Gray Starter – S. Andrews, K. Watson SUPPLEMENTARY REPORT Thursday 8 October 2020Queensland Racing Integrity Commission (QRIC) Steward Mr P. Gillard today inquired into the reason track rider Mr Dylan Dean rode track-work at the Gold Coast Turf Club between 19 August 2019 and 11 March 2020, and again on 30 September 2020 when not the holder of the appropriate license to do so. After hearing and considering all submissions Mr Dylan pleaded guilty to a charge under; LR.7. Licensing which reads; A person shall not:(b) ride a horse in any race, Trial or track-work; unless that person is the holder of a current appropriate Licence, permit or registration issued by the Principal Racing Authority. The specifics of the charge being that Mr Dean did ride track-work at the Gold Coast Turf Club between 19 August 2019 and 11 March 2020 and again on the 30 September 2020, when not the holder of a current and appropriate licence to do so. Mr Dean was fined the sum of $500. Mr Dean was made aware of his right to an appeal against the findings of the Steward. GENERALAs jockey A Fancourt was not riding at today’s meeting due to illness she was replaced as per Stewards summary sheet. Race 1: ACCURATE ROAD PROFILING SERVICES Class 3 Handicap 1800 Metres RIGHTEOUSNESS – Slow to begin. ROUND OF APPLAUSE – Laid out rounding the home turn. FALAEB – Jockey S Doyle was reprimanded under the provisions of AR132(7)(a)(ii) for the use of the whip seven times prior to the 100 metres which is two more times than is permitted. Race 2: ARPS DECIDER QTIS Three-Year-Old Maiden Handicap 1400 Metres I AM SUPERIOR – Slow to begin. Laid out rounding the home turn. ROMANTIQUE – Began awkwardly and lost ground. Laid out rounding the home turn. ATOMIC FEATHER – Slow to begin. NOBLE WAR – Over-raced in the early stages. OBLIGATORY – Crowded for room leaving the 200 metres. When questioned in regards to its performance, rider M. Hellyer, advised Stewards that the gelding was not comfortable on today’s prevailing track conditions and was further of the opinion as the gelding was first up from a spell today it would take improvement out of today’s effort. OLYMPIC GIFT – Shifted in crowding OBLIGATORY leaving the 200 metres. Race 3: ACCURATE ROAD PROFILING SERVICES Class 5 Handicap 1200 Metres DESERT DIGBY – Slow to begin. Lost both front plates during the race. ISLAND DAZE – Slow to begin. Over-raced in the early stages. SECRET SPIRIT – Compounded in the home straight. Jockey B Pengelly advised Stewards the gelding never travelled comfortably throughout the race and failed to respond to his riding when placed under pressure leaving the 500 metres. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to have a poor post-race recovery. Trainer C. Tyrell advised Stewards she would have a endoscopic examination conducted on the horse and advise Stewards of the result. Race 4: ACCURATE ROAD PROFILING SERVICES Maiden Handicap 1800 Metres PAST TENSE – Slow to begin. Following this race jockey B. Pengelly was stood down by the ambulance officers due to illness. Riding replacements were made as per Stewards summary. B. Pengelly was advised he must provide a medical clearance prior to his next race ride. LUNAFREYA – Over-raced in the early and middle stages. TRADING STOCK – Rider J. Grob was fined $300 under the provisions of AR132(5) in that he used his whip on 16 occasions in totality which is 2 times more than is permitted. ROCKAWAY BEACH – Shifted out near the 450 metres crowding BLAZING FAIRY. Rider N. Masuda was advised to exercise more care. Bumped by STELLAR which shifted out near the 400 metres and became unbalanced. BLAZING FAIRY – Crowded for room near the 450 metres. Lost its near hind plate during in running. STELLAR – Shifted out near the 400 metres bumping ROCKAWAY BEACH. Race 5: LEAH'S Fillies & Mares Class 2 Plate 1400 Metres PYTHIA – Slow to begin. ELIABELLA – Over-raced and raced wide in the early stages. ENCHANTINGLY – Over-raced in the early stages. Laid out rounding the home-turn. Jockey A. Allen was reprimanded under the provisions of AR132(7)(a)(ii) for the use of the whip six times prior to the 100 metres which is one more time than is permitted. CONCEALED DYNAMITE – Improved onto heels approaching the 400 metres and was restrained. SINGLE AGAIN – When questioned into the tactics adopted today rider B. Ainsworth stated that after obtaining a position outside the leader approaching the 800 metres the mare refused to settle and as a result she allowed her mount to improve forward an effort to get it to settle, however the mare continued race strongly. She further added it was not her intention to lead. Her explanation was noted. Race 6: ARPS RATINGS BAND 0 - 65 Handicap 1100 Metres COSSIE – Bumped shortly after the start. Inconvenienced near the 900 metres when improved onto the heels of WHITEBAIT PATTIE. SUGAR ZONE – Rider A. Allen reported at scale the gelding did not appreciate the firmness of today’s track. WHITEBAIT PATTIE – Raced in restricted room near the 900 metres and was steadied. Laid in leaving the 300 metres hampering SHEZ A ROCKIN’TOF POETIC CHOICE – Forced wider leaving the 300 metres by FAITH IN LOVE which shifted out. Shifted out leaving the 100 metres and when being corrected shifted in abruptly approaching the winning post hampering FAITH IN LOVE. FAITH AND LOVE – Laid out leaving the 300 metres shifting wider and forcing POETIC CHOICE wider. Was inconvenienced by POETIC CHOICE which shifted in abruptly approaching the winning post. B'DAISY – As no other suitable rider was available Stewards permitted L. Tilly to ride the mare 1kg over its allotted weight. L. Tilley was fined the sum of $300 under the provisions of AR190(3)Shifted inwards shortly after the start bumping COSSIE. SHEZ A ROCKIN'TOFF – Began awkwardly. Raced three wide without cover for the majority of the race. SMARTCELLI – Trainer T. Cotsiopoulos was fined the sum of $200 under the provisions of LR67 in that she failed to declare a rider for the gelding be the prescribed time. Slow to begin. ZARAFET – A post-race veterinary examination revealed the mare to have bled from both nostrils. As this is the second occasion on which the mare has bled, it will now incur a lifetime ban from racing under the provisions of AR79(6) Race 7:ACCURATE'S LADS Colts, Geldings & Entires Class 2 Plate 1400 Metres HE'S THE DEEL – Slow to begin. SIR HUSSON – Slow to begin. WARP SPEED – Began awkwardly. Race 8:ACCURATE ROAD PROFILING SERVICES RATINGS BAND 0 - 58 Handicap 1800 Metres THE POTATO PONTIFF – Slow to begin. Caught wide early before improving forward to race outside the leader near the 1000 metres. CATCH ME LATAR – Raced wide in the early stages of the race. AIRLIE MAN – Raced wide in the early stages of the race. PHANTOM SHADOW – Raced three wide without cover for the majority of the race. SAPPHIRE GIFT – Finished tailed off. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the mare to have a slow post-race recovery. Trainer H. Page advised Stewards the mares current preparation will be reviewed.
