Race 1: ASA FINANCE GROUP QTIS Three-Year-Old Colts & Geldings Maiden Handicap 1200 Metres
 
WAY BEYOND – After being slow into stride was then tightened for room between runners and as a result lost ground. Was forced wider near the 600 metres when attempting to improve by MR CICCOLINA which shifted out.    
 
BEAUTY CANTO – Raced in restricted room for a short distance after the start. 
 
GREEN GOLD – Raced in restricted room for a short distance after the start.

DALBERGIA – Slow to begin.Rider J. Baylissreported to Stewardshe was of the opinion the gelding may have got its tongue over the bit in running and as a result laid out and raced wide for the majority of the race.

MR CICCOLINA – Laid in shortly after the start forcing GREEN GOLD inwards and placing BEAUTY CANTO in restricted room. Shifted out near the 600 metres forcing WAY BEYOND wider.

NOKONDI – Shifted in shortly after the start tightening the running of WAY BEYOND. Over-raced in the early stages. Jockey A. Spinks fined $300 for use of the whip prior to the 100m. 7 times which is 2 more than is permitted. AR132(7)(a)(ii)
 
STRUT – Shifted in brushing the running rail near the 250 metres.
 
MAGIC IN ME – The gelding’s neck strap became detached approaching the 200 metres. 
 
Race 2: TAB LIVE SKY RACING VISION QTIS Three-Year-Old Fillies Maiden Handicap 1200 Metres
 
IN ORDER – Over-raced in the early stages of the race.

BETCHA BABY – Momentarily crowded for room shortly after the start.

LEESIDE – Raced ungenerously for a short distance leaving the 700 metres.

MISS JEDI – Blundered on jumping. Shifted in shortly after the start momentarily crowding BETCHA BABY. A post-race veterinary examination of MISS JEDI identified the filly to be lame in near fore leg. Trainer T. Edmonds was notified that he will be required to provide a Veterinary Clearance prior to the horse racing or trialing again.

PLAYING HOOKIE – Slow to begin.

SIENNA'S AWARD – Raced wide for the majority of the race. Steadied from form heels near the 600 metres.

ROMANTIQUE – Shifted out near the 600m forcing SIENNA’S AWARD wider.
 
Race 3: MELBOURNE CUP BOOK NOW BENCHMARK 65 Handicap 900 Metres
 
DEEP STATE – Slow to begin.
 
BETTER THAN MAGIC – Slow to begin.
 
Race 4: O'REILLY'S RAINFOREST RETREAT Class 5 Handicap 1100 Metres
 
MISHANI BULLITT – Took charge of its rider during the preliminary working strongly for a lap of the course and as a result was declared a late scratching at 2.38pm by order of Stewards. All monies invested on MASHANI BULLET were ordered to be refunded. Deductions applicable to bets placed on winner and placegetters prior to 2.38pm:

3 cents in the dollar for the place # EXACTAMENTE
8 cents in the dollar for 2nd place # BEWARE
5 cents in the dollar for 3rd place # JEWELIANA

DESERT DIGBY – A post-race veterinary examination of the gelding identified the presence of blood in both nostrils. DESERT DIGBY shall not without the permission of the Stewards : (a) be trained, exercised or galloped on any racecourse for a period of two months; (b) start in any race for a period of three months, and then only after a satisfactory gallop of at least 1,000 metres in the presence of a Steward. AR79(4)
 
JEWELIANA – Slow to begin.

BLUE COMET – Slow to begin.

WHITEBAIT PATTIE – Lost its near fore plate during the race.
 
HEAVEN’S HIGH – Stewards inquired into the vigour shown by jockey Bayliss approaching the winning post. Subsequently Jockey Bayliss pleaded guilty of a charge under AR131(b) for failing to ride his mount out to the end of the race which in the opinion of Stewards cost his mount 3rd  place. Jockey Bayliss licence to ride in races was suspended for a period of 10 days to commence midnight 1 November 2020 and expires midnight 11 November 2020. Stewards when considering penalty noted Jockey Bayliss’s good record in this regard, his guilty plea and the margin of a long head.  
 
Following the running of this event and in excess of 25mm of rain and stormy weather the remainder of the meeting was called off following a track inspection which deemed the track unsuitable for racing.
