QUEENSLANDRACING INTEGRITY COMMISSION STEWARDS REPORT AQUIS PARK GOLD COAST TURF CLUB TUESDAY 3 NOVEMBER 2020 WEATHER – FINE TRACK RATING – SOFT (6) (SOFT (5) @ 4:00PM)RAIL – 8 METRES 1400-W/POST; 5 METRES REMAINDER PENETROMETER – 5.2 OFFICIALS Chairman of Stewards – P. Watson RACE 1: AC-TEC SERVICES MAIDEN HANDICAP 900 METRES BYCULLA – Began awkwardly. SILVER BO – Shifted out shortly after the start, bumping WRITTEN VERSE. WRITTEN VERSE – Was bumped shortly after the start by SILBER BO, which shifted out. Laid in leaving the 100 metres, having to be corrected. SOLARCH – Slow to begin. Had a tendency to lay in leaving the 700 metres for a short distance. Laid out under pressure approaching the winning post. RACE 2: ROCS ELECTRICAL CLASS 1 PLATE 1800 METRES I AM A ROCKER – Fractious in the barriers prior to the start. EXPRESS DREAMS – Overraced in the early and middle stages. When asked to comment on the mare’s performance, rider A. Allen stated that the mare overraced in the early and middle stages and had a tendency to lay out throughout the race. He further stated that in his opinion the mare may have come to the end of its preparation. A post-race veterinary examination revealed soreness over the mare’s lumbar region. Co-trainer M. Hoysted was advised that he must obtain a veterinary clearance prior to the mare being permitted to race again. Mr Hoysted further stated it would be the intention that the mare be sent for a spell. BOLD INSPIRATION – Laid out under pressure in the home straight. STEEL PIER – Lost its near fore plate during the race. RACE 3: RBC GROUP MAIDEN HANDICAP 1300 METRES DARCHINIAN – Rider B. Pengelly was permitted to ride the gelding 0.5 kilogram over its allotted weight when no other suitable rider was available. B. Pengelly was fined the sum of $200 pursuant to AR211 for not being able to make the allotted weight. Was held up for clear running from the 500 metres until entering the home straight. Lost its off-side winker near the 700 metres. KATINA THE CAT – Put its head down as the start was effected and lost considerable ground. Became awkward in its action for a short distance near the 850 metres. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Trainer M. Palmer was advised the horse must trial to the satisfaction of Stewards prior to being permitted to race again. ICE ELITE – Slow to begin. OOZES CLASS – Slow to begin. MENDED – Slow to begin. TOPLINE – Began awkwardly and lost ground. WHITS END – Shifted out near the 350 metres, placing REBEL CAUSE in restricted room. When questioned as to why the gelding shifted out leaving the 400 metres, rider C. Whitely explained, that in his opinion, that after the track received heavy rain on Saturday the inside surface was inferior and that he was searching for better ground out wider but was unable to shift any wider when he became aware he had placed REBEL CAUSE in restricted room. Stewards noted his explanation. REBEL CAUSE – Was hampered near the 350 metres when placed in restricted room by WHITS END, which shifted out. C. Whiteley, the rider of WHITS END, was advised to show greater care when shifting ground. SUN MOON SKY – Lost its near hind plate during the race. RACE 4: DECOR BLINDS AUSTRALIA PTY LTD BENCHMARK 58 HANDICAP 2400 METRES NORDIC SHOW – Slow to begin. BRYBECK – Slow to begin. DREAM BUILDER – Slow to begin. Restrained off heels approaching the 450 metres. ASTRAL KNIGHT – Slow to begin. Overraced in the early and middle stages. POWERS LOOKOUT – Shifted out when tiring near the 450 metres causing FALAEB to shift wider, which resulted in DREAM BUILDER being inconvenienced. RACE 5: COOPER MALOY LEGAL BENCHMARK 58 HANDICAP 900 METRES LYTAFYRE – As the gelding was having its first start after a long absence from racing it underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was cleared to start. DANCES WITH TIME – Slow to begin. Raced three-wide without cover for the majority of the race. TAHLAYLA – Shifted out to obtain clear running near the 50 metres, forcing SECLUDE wider. SECLUDE – Slow to begin. Forced wider near the 50 metres. Following the running of this race, the track was upgraded to a Soft (5) retrospectively. RACE 6: DIAMONDS BROADBEACH, JEWELLERY AUCTIONS UNLIMITED BENCHMARK 58 HANDICA 1100 METRES WHITEBAIT PATTIE – Trainer T. Cowan was fined $100 under the provisions of LR67 for failing to declare a rider by the prescribed time. Began awkwardly and shifted in, bumping PALICKI. Raced three-wide without cover for the majority of the race. PALICKI – Was bumped by WHITEBAIT PATTIE, which shifted in at the start. EURO HUSTLER – Finished tailed off. Rider J. Guthmann-Chester advised Stewards the gelding was not comfortable in its action and as such placed no pressure on the gelding in the home straight. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to have pulled up in a distressed manner. Trainer A. Plumb was advised that she must obtain a veterinary clearance prior to the gelding trialling and then must trial to the Stewards satisfaction prior to being permitted to race again. MISS BULITZ - Lost its off hind plate during the race. RACE 7: COMMERCIAL KITCHEN COMPANY BENCHMARK 55 HANDICAP 1400 METRES AMAZINGLY – Trainer J. Smerdon was fined $100 under the provisions of LR67 for failing to declare a rider by the prescribed time. REAGAN'S MISTAKE – Rider B. Ainsworth was harmlessly dislodged in the mounting yard prior to the race. Overraced in the middle stages. BUFFALO GIRL – Slow to begin. PYTHIA – Slow to begin. SEMAPHORE GIRL – Slow to begin. Was bumped by KING’S RULE, which shifted out near the 200 metres. KING'S RULE – Overraced in the early stages. Shifted out near the 200 metres, bumping SEMAPHORE GIRL. Restrained approaching the winning post when being awkwardly placed on the heels of SEMAPHORE GIRL when forced outwards by MY DIAMOND GIRL, which shifted out slightly under pressure. MY DIAMOND GIRL – Shifted out under pressure approaching the winning post, causing KING’S RULE to become awkwardly placed on heels. Rider S.
