GENERAL
 
Race 6.  Rider Jake Bayliss was reprimanded pursuant to AR190(3) as he was unable to make the weight on GRANDIOSO and was replaced by rider Tiffani Brooker. In considering this penalty, Stewards took into account his exemplary record in regards to this rule.
 
 
RACE 1: BURCHILLS ENGINEERING SOLUTIONS CLASS 4 HANDICAP 1100 METRES
 
WHITEBAIT PATTIE – Began awkwardly. Rider A. Chau pleaded guilty to a charge pursuant to AR132(5) for excessive use of the whip as the rider of that gelding he used his whip on eighteen (18) occasions, being four (4) more than permitted. Rider A. Chau’s licence to ride in races was suspended for a period of seven (7) days to commence midnight on 21 November 2020 and to expire at midnight on 28 November 2020.
 
COOK IT CHARLIE – Raced ungenerously in the early stages and laid in near the 700 metres, becoming awkwardly placed on the heels of EXACTAMENTE. Laid out under pressure in the home straight.
 
EXACTAMENTE – Lost its near hind plate during running. A post-race veterinary examination revealed minor lacerations to its near hind leg.
 
SO SKILLED – Trainer J. Bellamy was fined $200 under the provisions of LR67 for failing to declare a rider by the prescribed time. Apprentice J. Lloyd was reprimanded pursuant to AR132(7)(a)(ii) for use of the whip on six (6) occasions prior to the 100 metres, being one (1) more than permitted.
 
 
RACE 2: DAVID PONTON QTIS TWO-YEAR-OLD MAIDEN HANDICAP 1200 METRES
 
KING'S CONTRACT – Slow to begin. Bumped by LAN KWAI FONG, which shifted out near the 400 metres to obtain clear running.
 
READY MISTER MUSIC – As rider J.Bayliss was unable to fulfil his engagement due to transportation difficulties he was replaced by rider A. Chau. Began awkwardly and shifted inwards, inconveniencing THE LOVE OF MARY. Shifted out under pressure near the 100 metres before being corrected.
 
LAN KWAI FONG – Overraced in the middle stages. Shifted out in an attempt to find clear running near the 400 metres, bumping KING’S CONTRACT. Reluctant to take a run approaching the 150 metres between KING’S CONTRACT and DERANI when having a tendency to lay in, having to be steadied and shifted inwards.
 
THE LOVE OF MARY – Was inconvenienced by READY MISTER MUSIC, which shifted in on jumping, and as a result lost ground.
 
 
RACE 3: VALE DR MICHAEL BARRY MAIDEN HANDICAP 1200 METRES
 
CASH ON FIRE – Delayed the start after becoming fractious in the barriers. Was unloaded and underwent a veterinary examination and was cleared to start. Shifted out a short distance after the start, hampering BETCHA BABY, which was momentarily steadied. Apprentice K. Wilson-Taylor was advised to exercise greater care when shifting ground.

CRIBBY MISS – Slow to begin. Finished tailed off. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities. Trainer B. Hudson was advised a warning would be placed on the mare’s competitiveness. Mr Hudson further advised that consideration would be given that the mare be retired from racing.
 
TIME SAVER – Raced three-wide without cover for the majority of the race.
 
KAPITANS OATH – Raced wide for the majority of the race.
 
BRABHAM – Rider J. Morris was fined $100 pursuant to AR131(c) for making a celebratory gesture prior to the winning post. 
 
 
RACE 4: DILLON LEGAL CLASS 2 HANDICAP 1800 METRES
 
WARP SPEED – Began awkwardly.
 
AMAZINGLY – Began awkwardly. Raced three-wide approaching the 1400 metre turn and was then permitted to improve forward to race outside the leader one-off the fence. Overraced for a short distance when improving forward near the 1300 metres.
 
THE DEMTEL MAN – Commenced to overrace when crowded for room by THATFRIDAYFEELING near the 1600 metres and shifted in, inconveniencing AIOLOS.
 
THATFRIDAYFEELING – Shifted in near the 1600 metres inconveniencing THE DEMTEL MAN and AIOLOS. Apprentice J. J. Lloyd was reprimanded and advised to show greater care.
 
AIOLOS – Inconvenienced when crowded for room near the 1600 metres.
 
 
RACE 5: GREG HODGE SOLID PLASTERING QTIS THREE-YEAR-OLD MAIDEN HANDICAP 1400 METRES
 
IN ORDER – Trainer S. Morrisey advised it was the intention to have the filly ridden more forward
due to the good barrier and the filly racing up in distance. The filly raced handy with cover. Shifted out on jumping, bumping SQUARE DANCE. Overraced in the early stages.
 
BAUHINIA BEANS – Shifted inwards on jumping, bumping heavily with BUILT FOR SPEED, which in turn shifted in bumping ROMAN REIGN.
 
BUILT FOR SPEED – Bumped heavily on jumping and lost ground.
 
ROMAN REIGN – Bumped on jumping and lost ground.
 
SQUARE DANCE – Bumped on jumping. Carried wider leaving the 800 metres and raced wide from that point onwards.
 
TOP BABE – Shifted out leaving the 800 metres, forcing SQUARE DANCE wider. Was restrained in the home straight when apprentice J. J. Lloyd was of the opinion that something was amiss with the filly. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the filly to be stepping short in front. Trainer B. Laming was advised he must provide a veterinary clearance prior to TOP BABE being permitted to trial or race again.
 
BENKARA – Finished tailed off. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities. Trainer W. King was advised that a warning would be placed on the gelding’s competitiveness.
 
 
RACE 6: BEEMAH BENCHMARK 65 HANDICAP 1400 METRES
 
BELLARINE – Delayed the start when proved difficult to load. Connections were advised the mare must obtain a further barrier certificate prior being permitted to race again.
 
OLYMPIC CLASS – Began awkwardly and shifted out, forcing DYNAMIC THINKER wider.
 
DYNAMIC THINKER – Was forced wider on jumping, tightening runners to its outside.
 
THE GOLDEN HIND – Was tightened for room on jumping and lost ground.
 
CONQUERING JUDAS – Was tightened for room on jumping and lost ground.
 
POCKET PISTOL – Was eased out of the race approaching the 600 metres when rider B. Pengelly was of the opinion something was amiss with the gelding. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities. Foreman H. Nichols was at a loss to explain the performance and gave an undertaking to advise Stewards should anything come to her attention in the near future that may have had a bearing on today’s performance. Ms Nichols was further advised the gelding must trial to the satisfaction of Stewards prior to being permitted to race again.
 
SIDEKISS – Rider J. Adams was fined $300 pursuant to AR132(7)(a)(ii)for use of the whip on eight (8) occasions prior to the 100 metres, being three (3) more than permitted.
 
 
RACE 7: MICHAEL COLLINS SUMMER PROVINCIAL SERIES - HEAT BENCHMARK 75 HANDICAP 1200 METRES
 
DEPTHS BELOW – Shifted in slightly near the 900 metres hampering ATOUCHMORE, which was overracing.
 
ATOUCHMORE – Steadied near the 900 metres when overracing and improving onto the heels of DEPTHS BELOW, which shifted in slightly.
 
FEW TOO MANY – Raced wide for the majority of the race.
 
YABA DABL DOYA – Raced wide for the majority of the race.
 
 
RACE 8: RBC GROUP RATINGS BAND 0 - 62 HANDICAP 1200 METRES
 
HEART OF AUSTRALIA – As rider C. Taylor was unable to fulfil his engagement as the rider of the mare, he was replaced by N. Tomizawa, who was permitted to ride the gelding 0.5kg over its allotted weight when no other suitable rider was available. Began awkwardly and shifted out, bumping MAC’S GAL.
 
THE HOOLIGAN – Slow to begin.
 
MAC'S GAL – Was tightened between runners on jumping.
 
MITTA MARY – Shifted in shortly after the start, crowding MAC’S GAL. Put in an awkward stride when racing in restricted room near the 800 metres and had to be steadied.
 
CRAB BOY – Overraced in the middle stages of the race.
 
POETIC CHOICE – Raced wide for the majority of the race.
 
FANTASAY – Raced three-wide without cover for the majority of the race.
