Race 1: THE PALMS FESTIVE EDITIONS QTIS Three-Year-Old Handicap 1400 metres
 
DISARMED – Performed below market expectation. Rider T Wolfgram stated that in his opinion the gelding had come to the end of its preparation. Trainer M Wilson confirmed that the gelding would be spelled.
 
REAL HUSSEY – Restrained from the start to settle at the rear.
 
SIENNA'S AWARD – Laid out in the home straight and near the 150 metres shifted out under pressure before being straightened by its rider.
 
 
Race 2: FESTIVE FEAST BOOK ONLINE Maiden Plate 1400 metres
 
EL RANCHOS (NZ) – Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was found to have a healing wound on the right side cheek. Subsequently passed suitable to race.
 
ELGIN (NZ) – Carried wider passing the 900 metres when I AM A BEAUTY shifted out. Raced wide for the remainder of the event. Lost off hind plate in running.
 
JIMMY NEUTRON – Held up between the 400 metres and 150 metres.
 
SUN MOON SKY – Bounded at the start and lost ground. Near the 250 metres shifted out and bumped I AM A BEAUTY.  
 
BRANNIGAN – Raced wide without cover for the majority.
 
I AM A BEAUTY – Began to over race passing 1000 metres before shifting out near the 900 metres to race wide with cover. Near the 250 metres was bumped and became momentarily unbalanced when SUN MOON SKY shifted out and away from MOCIAL CHEF.  
 
KANDANGA MISS – Performed below market expectation. Rider R Maloney stated the mare travelled well during the event however near the 350 metres blundered and lost its action before being eased down from the 200 metres. Underwent a post-race veterinary examination which revealed the mare to be suffering from cardiac arrhythmia. Trainer T Gollan was advised that the mare shall not start in any race until the Stewards have received a satisfactory veterinary report, which includes the results of an ECG performed at rest and cardiac auscultation performed within 30 minutes of completing a satisfactory trial.
 
BETCHA BABY – Jockey M Cahill dropped whip at the 250 metres.
 
 
Race 3: 2021 SUMMER CARNIVAL ON SALE NOW Fillies and Mares BENCHMARK 65 Handic 1400 metres
 
PERFECT IMPRESSION – Slow to begin. Performed below market expectation. Apprentice J Huxtable stated that in his opinion the mare may be better suited to tracks with more give. Underwent a post-race veterinary examination which revealed no abnormalities.
 
SUNRISE DANCER – Performed below market expectation. Rider R Maloney could offer no explanation.
 
LOT'S WIFE – Began awkwardly. Raced wide without cover until passing the 600 metres.
 
 
Race 4: 2YO TAB CALCUTTA ON SALE Maiden Handicap 1100 metres
 
REALITY – Near the 350 metres was steadied away from the heels of I AM THIRTY which shifted out.
 
DARING MAN – Began awkwardly and was hampered by I AM THIRTY which shifted in. Near the 900 metres was awkwardly placed at the heels of RED RUBI which shifted in when laying in.
 
LE HEROS – Inconvenienced at the start between SCENIC RIM and LAMARCHE. Rider B Pengelly reported that the colt settled further back than anticipated and raced greenly throughout.
 
SCENIC RIM – Difficult to load and delayed the start. Raced greenly throughout. Raced wide and hung out throughout. Trainer T Cowan was advised that the gelding must trial to the satisfaction of Stewards due to today’s barrier manners.
 
RED RUBI – Near the 500 metres was steadied when racing in restricted room to the inside of LE HEROS. Laid in the home straight and was momentarily steadied away from the heels of SINEAD near the 200 metres. 
 
LAMARCHE – Raced wide without cover until passing the 700 metres.
 
COME IN SPINNER (NZ) – Near the 400 metres was placed awkwardly at the heels of REALITY.
 
 
Race 5: BOXING DAY RACEDAY Class 2 Handicap 1100 metres
 
FRUSTRATED – Raced wide with cover.
 
EMMA'S JET – Began awkwardly.
 
KING OF THE DESERT – Began awkwardly.
 
MISHANI ROMANCE – Began awkwardly. Underwent a post-race veterinary examination which revealed the mare to have a laceration and swelling to the off side fore leg.
 
WANTOK – Began awkwardly and lost ground.
 
DEEP STATE – Rider C Taylor lost use of near side iron for a short distance after the start. Raced wide without cover.
 
 
Race 6: AQUIS $1.5M RACEDAY JANUARY 9 BENCHMARK 72 Handicap 1800 metres
 
DREAM BUILDER – Failed to muster early speed and settled at the rear of the field than eased down in the home straight. Rider T Wolfgram reported that the gelding was under pressure throughout the event to remain in contact with the field and after being non-competitive was eased down in the straight. Post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be bi-laterally lame in the fore legs. Trainer M Wilson was advised that the gelding would require a veterinary clearance prior to being permitted to race again. Trainer M Wilson advised Stewards that it would be his intention to retire the gelding.
 
 
Race 7: TAB Class 5 Handicap 1200 metres
 
CAPTIVATOR – Began awkwardly and then hampered by SUPERBOWL SUNDAY which shifted out. Steadied near the 300 metres when placed at the heels of MOUNT BATTEN.
 
SUPERBOWL SUNDAY – Slow to begin. Rider L Cassidy reported that after not beginning cleanly the gelding failed to show early speed and as a result settled further back than anticipated. Further added that the gelding may appreciate a track with more give and would be better suited over 1400 metres at this stage of its preparation.
 
MOUNTBATTEN – Began awkwardly and lost ground. Near the 200 metres steadied from the heels of PINNACLE STAR which had been carried out by BARODA.
 
BARODA – Rider M Cahill dropped whip passing the 100 metres.
 
Race 8: TAB Colts, Geldings and Entires BENCHMARK 65 Handicap 1400 metres
 
CHAPELCO – Raced wide without cover for the majority.
 
SIDEKISS – Held up near the 350 metres until passing the 250 metres before shifting in to obtain clear running. Near the 200 metres inconvenienced and carried in by CHAPELCO (N.Fazackerley(a)). Apprentice N Fazackerley was advised to exercise greater care in similar circumstances.
 
INDIAN DREAMER - Slow to begin.
 
POCKET PISTOL – Near the 200 metres was bumped and carried in by SIDEKISS.
 
STEINBRENNER (NZ) - Slow to begin.
 
PIEROPAN – Slow to begin.
