Venkaya was fined $800 for using the whip 9 times prior to the 100m, which is 4 more than permitted. AR132(7)(a)(ii) GITCHE GUMEE – Raced 3 wide without cover. MONYATTA – Fractious in the gates. STELLAR – Shifted out under pressure in the home straight. Race 2: STORAGE KING TWEED HEADS RATINGS BAND 0 - 70 Handicap 1400 metres PRINCE OF ARRAN – Apprentice J Lloyd pleaded guilty to a charge pursuant to AR132(7)(a)(ii) in that he used his whip on ten (10) occasions prior to the 100 metres, being five (5) more than permitted.Apprentice Lloyd’s licence to ride in races was suspended for a period of twenty one (21) days to commence at midnight on 11/04/2021 and to expire on midnight 2/05/2021. Race 3: SKY RACING Maiden Handicap 1200 metres The start of this race was delayed when TINIPIT proved difficult to load. WITH EDGE – Near the 100m was crowded for racing room between FIRE IN THE HOLE to its outside and KARBORS which shifted out. FIRE IN THE HOLE – Near the 300m was bumped when WITH EDGE improved to the inside. KARBORS – Raced 3 wide throughout. Laid out under pressure in the home straight. TINIPIT – Began awkwardly. Trainer J Wilson was advised that a warning would be placed on the filly regarding its pre-race manners. KAIQUE – Began awkwardly. Race 4: BRYANT & BRYANT CHARTERED ACCOUNTANTS MaidenHandicap 1200 metres BRUT GOLD –When asked to comment regarding the gelding’s performance and tactics, rider M McGillivray reported that after beginning slowly and being obliged to move down to the rail, the gelding commenced to race keenly and approaching the 600m was unable to improve as STELLA ARDENS was beginning to weaken in advance, whilst TITRATION was racing to his outside, this prevented from him improving until approaching the home turn before finishing off fairly. TWILIGHT PHENOMENA – Raced 3 wide with cover. Near the 700m bumped on the hindquarters and became unbalanced when DALBERGIA shifted out. TITRATION – Raced keenly in the middle stages. DALBERGIA – Steadied from the heels of POETRY IN MOTION which shifted out on jumping. Between the 800m and 700m when the pace steadied improved onto heels on a number of occasions and was obliged to steady and shift wider. POETRY IN MOTION – Began awkwardly. Raced 3 wide with cover. MY GIRL ROCKS – Bumped heavily as the start was effected. DAME MARGOT – Began awkwardly and bumped heavily with MY GIRL ROCKS. Raced 3 wide with cover. REGAL EYES – Raced 3 wide without cover. Race 5: SONYA LEW DOUBLE BIRTHDAY CELEBRATIONS BENCHMARK 58 Handicap 1400 metres ACCESSORY – Raced 3 wide. MONEY SHOT – Slow to begin. DAY TO FAVOUR – Rider J Adams reported that he was reluctant to pressure the mare over the concluding stages as it did not feel comfortable. Underwent a post-race veterinary examination which revealed the mare had a laceration to its bottom lip which may have been a result as the mare making contact with barriers on jumping. LADY RINGO – Slow to begin. STARLIGHTER – Slow to begin. SET TO GO WELL – Raced 3 wide with cover. Race 6: HOUSE OF HEINEKEN TICKETS MAY 8 QTIS Three-Year-OldMaiden Handicap 1100 metresCorrect weight was delayed to allow Jockey M.McGillivray rider of the 3rd placegetter to view the photo finish. CEE YOU AT EIGHT – Slow to begin and failed to muster speed despite the efforts of its rider. Trailed the field throughout. Trainer L Birchley was advised that the gelding will be required to trial to the satisfaction of Stewards before being permitted to race again. Trainer L Birchley advised that it was his likely intention to send the gelding for a spell. FESSUP – Held up rounding the home turn and the early part of the home straight. MAJOR NIC – Raced 3 wide early before its rider elected to stride forward to race outside the leader near the 700m. Underwent a post-race veterinary examination which revealed no abnormalities. SHAMATON – Laid out under pressure in the home straight. SUPAIRUS – Raced greenly and laid in under pressure in the home straight. CHERRY SODA – Held up approaching the home turn and shortly thereafter disappointed for a run to the inside of SUPAIRUS. Steadied before shifting wider to secure clear running. SUPER TROUBLE – Change of tactics – to be ridden further back from the wide barrier if circumstances permit. Ridden accordingly. VANTINA (NZ) – Held up rounding the home turn and the early part of the home straight. MISHANI UNSPOKEN – Rider reported that the filly felt awkward in its action. Underwent a post-race veterinary examination which revealed to poor post-race recovery. CHARM BRACELET (NZ) – Raced 3 wide throughout. Race 7: THE PALMS SUPER SATURDAYS BENCHMARK 65 Handicap1800 metres Correct weight was delayed when Stewards considered an objection lodged by N Callow the rider of ACHIEVE VICTORY which finished 2nd against WAR’S END (K. Wilson-Taylor) being declared the winner on the grounds of interference suffered between the 300m to 100m. Stewards after taking submissions from both riders and stable representatives, noted that at a point between the 150m and the 100m whilst WAR’S END does shift out and carry ACHIEVE VICTORY wider, Stewards could not be satisfied that the alleged interference suffered was greater than the long neck margin and therefore the protest was dismissed and correct weight declared on the judges placings. MISS GEM – Slow to begin. Held up rounding the home turn and early part of the home straight. TRIPLE THE FUN – Held up rounding the home turn and early part of the home straight. WAR'S END – Raced 3 wide before gaining cover passing the 1100m. Shifted out near the 150m before being corrected by its rider. WILDWOOD JADE – Change of tactics – to be ridden more forward if circumstances permit. Jockey Wolfgram reported that the mare refused to settle when leading. Race 8: SKYLINE RESTAURANT Class 1 Plate 1200 metres EPPLAUSE – Began awkwardly. PRIDE OF PYINGERRA – Bounded as the start was affected and lost ground. Put in an awkward stride passing the 300m. WAITAKERE – Underwent a post-race veterinary examination which revealed no abnormalities. PERNELL – Began awkwardly. Apprentice J Lloyd was fined the sum of $200 pursuant to AR211(1) in that he weighed in in excess of 0.5 kg over his allotted weight. LUANA – Held up approaching the home turn. XUANNU – Raced 3 wide. Race 9: SKY RACING Class 3 Handicap 1200 metres AXE – Steadied passing the 900m when crowded for racing room by PURE INDULGENCE which shifted in. Apprentice K Wilson-Taylor was advised by Stewards to take greater care when crossing. INVIGORATING – When asked to comment regarding the mare’s performance, rider B. Nothdurft advised that the mare had travelled well during the race but failed to respond in the home straight and he was of the opinion that the mare may not have appreciated todays shifting track surface. DISARMED – Passing the 200m steadied from the heels of SO YOU SHOP which shifted out under pressure. AMIRYKAL – Approaching the 800m had to steadied from the heels of AXE when racing keenly. CONCEALED DYNAMITE – Bumped on jumping. MISCHIEVOUS LAD – Slow to begin. ANIMAL INSTINCT – Raced 3 wide.
