J Woodhouse was fined $300 under AR190(3). Trainer M Wilson was reprimanded under LR36(6) for failing to withdraw ALLELUIA by the prescribed time. Race 1: BILL DWYER QTIS Two-Years-Old Handicap 900 metres Tee Amici – Declared a late scratching at 12:22pm on veterinary advice after becoming cast in the barriers. Upon the declaration of correct weight stewards order that all monies invested on Tee Amici be refunded and the following deductions apply – 1st – 7c win, 13c place 2nd – 6c place 3rd – 11c place Trainer S Morrisey was advised that the gelding would require a veterinary clearance prior to racing again. Brailler – Raced wide throughout. Halfahope – Reared as the start was affected and lost ground. Overraced throughout. Rounding the home turn and in the early part of the home straight was held up for clear running. Raced greenly in the home straight. Mishani Sniper – Bumped with Weneiri near the 600m. Tikka Ready – Raced wide and without cover throughout. Performed below market expectations. Rider N Callow could provide no explanation for the performance. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Weneiri – Tightened on jumping. Near the 600m was hampered when Brailler shifted in. Near the 200m had to be eased when awkwardly placed on the heels of Starbook. Shortly after had to shift to the inside to obtain clear running. Frosty Mango – Shifted in shortly after the start tightening Weneiri. My Pins – Over the concluding stages was hampered when Sea Kissed shifted out. Race 2: LOGIC HOSPITALITY Class 4 Handicap 1400 metres Ready To Humble – Began awkwardly. Green Jacket – Began awkwardly and lost ground. Race 3: MERRINS 5TH BIRTHDAY Maiden Handicap 1200 metres Afsoon (NZ) – Near the 1000m had to be steadied to avoid the heels of Zoumanji (App Z Lloyd) which shifted in when not clear. App Z Lloyd was advised to exercise more care in similar circumstances. Chompers – Shifted out on jumping and bumped Kingsford’s Own. Raced wide throughout. Inclined to shift out when placed under pressure in the home straight. Kingsford's Own – Tightened shortly after jumping and lost ground. Focus – Approaching the home turn was held up for clear running. Zoumanji – Began awkwardly. Performed below market expectations. Apprentice Z Lloyd advised that he was disappointed with the performance however he added that the filly will derive a fitness benefit from today’s run. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Nic Me Some – Raced keenly in the early and middle stages. Speed Map – Declared a late scratching at 8:53am on veterinary advice. Trainer R Severino was advised that a veterinary clearance would be required prior to the colt racing again. North Rocks – Blundered on jumping. Raced in restricted room over the concluding stages and was unable to be fully tested. Race 4: COASTAL TIPPER HIRE QTIS Three-Years-Old Fillies Maiden Plate 1200 metres In Havana - Slow to begin. Missy Em – Shortly after the start was bumped by Sonic Arrow. Over the concluding stages raced in restricted room. Priti Piper – Near the 150m had to be steadied when awkwardly placed on the heels of Radiant Romance (R Wiggins) which shifted out under riding. R Wiggins was advised to exercise more care. Pulp – Declared a late scratching at 2:01pm after the filly refused to proceed to the barriers. Upon the declaration of correct weight stewards order that all monies invested on Pulp be refunded and the following deductions apply –1st – 3c win, 3c place 2nd – 5c place 3rd – 4c place Trainer T Button was advised that the filly would be required to trial to the satisfaction of stewards prior to racing again. Radiant Romance – Laid out when placed under pressure in the home straight. Sonic Arrow - Shortly after the start bumped with Missy Em. Near the 1000m raced ungenerously when being restrained. Spirit Of Romance – Difficult to load. Trainer D Vandyke was advised that a warning would be placed on the filly. Laid out throughout. Rounding the home turn was carried wider by Country Showgirl, which was shifting out to improve. Race 5: TURNERS ENGINEERING QTIS Three-Years-Old Colts and Geldings Maiden Pla 1200 metres Alleluia – Tightened shortly after the start. Near the 1100m was hampered when tightened by Mishani Vandal, which was taken in by Tucker McGoo, which shifted in when not clear. Chilliwack – Change to tactics, to be ridden quieter. Settled in a rearward position. Restrained from a wider barrier to obtain a position with cover. Overraced passing the 1000m and had to be restrained to avoid heels. Shortly after shifted wider and raced three wide no cover for the remainder. Decade – Passing the 600m became awkwardly placed on the heels of Il Calzino and shifted in. Held up approaching and rounding the home turn. Gulf Country – Inconvenienced shortly after the start. Raced wide and without cover throughout. Mishani Vandal – Near the 1100m had to be steadied and taken inwards when awkwardly placed on the heels of Tucker Mcgoo (G Goomany) which shifted in when not clear. G Goomany pleaded guilty to a charge under AR131(a) in that approaching the 1100m he failed to make sufficient effort to prevent his mount from shifting in resulting in Mishani Vandal being steadied and taken in across the running of Alleluia, which was obliged to check when tightened. G Goomany’s licence to ride in races was suspended for a period to commence midnight 2/8/21 and to expire at midnight 9/8/21. In assessing penalty stewards were mindful of his guilty plea and that the carelessness was determined to be in the low range. Plan Cee - Shifted out on jumping and bumped with Alleluia. Redacted – Raced greenly throughout. Tucker Mcgoo – Difficult to load delaying the start. Trainer L Kelly was advised that a warning would be placed on the gelding. Near the 150m, whilst weakening had to be steadied when Decade (App Z Lloyd) shifted out whilst regathering his reigns and Gulf Country (G Cartwright), shifted in. Both riders were advised to exercise more care. Race 6: GIRLS ON TOUR Class 2 Handicap 1100 metres Smooth Move – Held up rounding the home turn. Bold Hunter – Began awkwardly. Raced wide throughout. Liability – Rider A Fancourt reported that the gelding was inclined to lay in throughout. Miss Rhapsody – Change of tactics, to be ridden with cover. Settled in a rearward position. Raced ungenerously when being restrained at the rear of the field. Scare Campaign - Near the 900m had to be steadied to avoid heels of Bold Hunter which shifted in. Raced wide throughout. Race 7: CITY FLEET BM60 Handicap 1300 metres Kaiberry (NZ) – Raced wide and without cover throughout. Perfect Quality – Lost a near hind plate in running. Straitouttaharlem – Change of tactics, to be ridden further back. Settled in a rearward position. Nakanai – Near the 900m had to be steadied when crowded. Race 8: MALCOLM ANDREWS BM70 Handicap 900 metres Devil's Temptation – Apprentice W Peel was fined $300 under AR132(7)(a)(ii) in that she used her whip on six occasions prior to the 100m. In assessing penalty stewards were mindful that this was her fourth offence since the 8th of August, 2020. The Great Boombino – Slow to begin. Sheezasinga – Hung in throughout. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Trainer J Smerdon was advised that a warning would be placed on the mare.
