Rider Ainsworth reported that it appeared as if there was considerable speed drawn to her inside and for this reason she was instructed to ride the gelding with cover today. Trainer R Litton reported that the gelding weakened badly when leading at its most recent start and as it appeared that there was speed from other runners in the small field today, he confirmed the instructions were to ride the gelding with cover. Trainer R Litton was reprimanded pursuant to AR100(1)(a) in respect of this incident and Stewards advised him to communicate any varying tactics to the Stewards so that announcements can then be made to that effect.

Rider T Wolfgram reported that he was instructed to ride with some vigor in the early stages with the intent to get the gelding to travel and when he was trapped extremely wide on the track approaching the 1600 metres rather than restrain and lose several lengths to settle in a rearward position he elected to allow the gelding to stride forward. Stewards accepted his explanation.

BRONZED VENOM – Near the 250 metres, rider G Cartwright had her whip accidentally knocked from her grasp by the whip of rider T Wolfgram.

STELLAR – Stewards permitted rider A Chau to ride 0.5 kilograms over his allocated weight due to the current covid restrictions. After leaving the 1600 metres, pulled hard and had to be restrained from the heels of SUN MOON SKY.
