Prior to the declaration of correct weight Jockey A Fancourt rider of SIESTA KEY, the 2nd placegetter, lodged an objection against DASH FOR DREAMS (T Brooker) being declared the winner alleging interference over the concluding stages. After taking evidence from all parties and viewing the Stewards patrol footage, it was established that near the 75m DASH FOR DREAMS shifted out under pressure making contact with SIESTA KEY forcing that runner wider on the track. Stewards however could not be satisfied that the extent of the interference suffered to SIESTA KEY was greater than the margin separating both runners at the finish, and therefore they dismissed the objection and declared correct weight on the Judge’s placings.
