GENERAL
 
Due to the current Covid restrictions, the following overweight allowances approved-
 
Race 5- IMADGIC- J Guthmann-Chester- +1/2kg

Race 1: SOCIAL PONIES ANNUAL PASS Maiden Handicap 2200 metres
 
 
The start was delayed several minutes when the bridle of CHAYSE ‘N’ NOAH needed refitting after it was dislodged when the blindfold was being fitted.
 
SHOPPING WISE-Stewards questioned jockey B Pengelly in relation to him appearing to not ride his mount out over the concluding stages of the event. Jockey Pengelly advised that in running he has sustained an injury to his back which was hampering him to an extent which resulted in him not being able to fully test his mount as he had wished, practically when using the whip. Stewards when considering the matter took into account that Jockey Pengelly was stood down for his remaining engagements following race one by the ambulance officials owing to a back injury and therefore noted Jockey Pengelly’s explanation and took no further action. Jockey Pengelly was advised he will be required to obtain a medical certificate prior to next ridden.   
 
JAKK'S RIGHT- Raced wide from the 1100m. Jockey J Guthmann-Chester was reprimanded for using his whip on more than 5 occasions prior to the 100m. Jockey J Guthmann-Chester was fined $500 for returning to scale in excess of a 1/2kg overweight.
 
BIG ANDY- Hampered at the start. After racing keenly in the middle stages was allowed to stride forward to obtain the leading position near the 1100m.
 
MR REDDINGTON- Jumped in the air at the start and was then tightened for room shortly after and lost ground.  
 
CHAYSE 'N' NOAH- Hampered at the start when bumped by another runner. After being caught wide in the early stages was allowed to stride forward to obtain the leading position near the 1300m.  
 
DEEL OF FORTUNE- After racing keenly in the middle stages was allowed to stride forward to obtain the position outside the leader near the 1100m.
 
POWER PUNCH- Bumped on jumping losing ground.
 
TRUTHIZ- Began awkwardly. Raced keenly in the early stages.
 
 
Race 2: ERIC ATTWOOD MEMORIAL BENCHMARK 68 Handicap 2400 metres
 
All runners in this event were subject to a pre-race swab sample.
 
FLENSBURG- Began awkwardly.
 
LADY SOLERNO- Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
 
HAMILTON PLACE- App. Z Lloyd was reprimanded for using his whip on more than 5 occasions prior to the 100m.
 
ZAMOSA- Slow into stride.
 
IN YOUR ELEMENT- Raced keenly in the early stages.
 
Race 3: RICHARD ATTWOOD Colts, Geldings and Entires Class 2 Plate 1100 metres
 
Following the running of Race 2 the track was upgraded to a Heavy 9
 
DEFERENCE- Bumped heavily rounding the home turn when MILL ROSSA (Z Lloyd), which was racing to the inside shifted out. App. Lloyd was advised to exercise more care when shifting ground in similar circumstances.
 
 
Race 4: BOB MARSHALL Fillies and Mares Class 2 Plate 1100 metres
 
SIP IT SLOW- Disappointed for a run near the 400m when attempting to shift out to improve and as a result lost ground. As a consequence was forced to shift to the inside to secure clear running.
 
MASSABIELLE- Trainer T Haydon was fined $100 for failing to notify App. Z Lloyd as the rider of the mare by the prescribed time.

RED GARTER- Jockey A. Allen was the replacement rider for the mare when Jockey Pengelly was stood down following an earlier event. Began awkwardly.
 
XUANNU- Began awkwardly.
 
 
Race 5: REVELSTONE STUD QTIS Three-Year-Old Maiden Handicap 1400 metres
 
AWAIT THE STORM- After beginning only fairly was then tightened for room shortly after the start and lost ground.
 
BUMP'N'RUN- Trainer G Betros was fined $100 for presenting the gelding to race in unapproved gear, namely buckled reins. Tightened for room at the start and lost ground. Held up rounding the home turn and in the early stages of the home straight before having difficulty securing clear running for a large portion of the home straight.
 
HE'S THE KING- Bumped and became unbalanced leaving the 300m.
 
KING'S CONTRACT- Tightened for room at the start. Jockey R Wiggins reported that the gelding failed to handle the heavy 9 track conditions.
 
SIR BANGALOW- Bumped by another runner and became unbalanced near the 100m and again near the 50m.
 
CAPITAL GIRL- After being fractious in the barriers, was slow to begin.
 
THAT'S A MIRACLE- Steadied when placed in restricted room leaving the 300m.
 
IMADGIC- Tightened for room at the start and lost ground. Raced 3 wide without cover throughout.
 
Race 6: ATTWOOD MARSHALL 75 YEARS Maiden Plate 1300 metres
 
At the request of its rider Jockey R Wiggins, the gelding underwent a pre-race Veterinary Examination upon arrival at the barriers and was subsequently passed fit to start.
 
THAT'LLDOTOO- As App. N Fazackerley had commitments at another venue, he was replaced as per the Stewards Summary. Stood flat-footed at the start and lost ground. Trainer J Sweeney was advised he would be required to obtain a further barrier certificate for the gelding prior to next racing. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.  
 
FIVE CHERRYS- Raced wide without cover for the majority.
 
GRACIOUS KNIGHT- Held up rounding the home turn.
 
HOKE'S RUN- Bumped heavily on jumping.
 
CARREFOUR- Bumped heavily on jumping. Steadied near the 1000m when placed in restricted room to the inside of RED PENIJANE which shifted in when not completely clear. Jockey A Allen the rider of RED PENIJANE was advised to exercise more care in similar circumstances. Raced ungenerously when being restrained during the middle stages.
 
 
NORTHERN WATER- Raced ungenerously when being restrained during the middle stages.
 
RISING FIRE- Slow to begin. Momentarily placed in restricted room near the 1000m.
 
RED PENIJANE- Buffeted between runners leaving the 300m.
 
 
Race 7: ATTWOOD MARSHALL LAWYERS Class 3 Handicap 1800 metres
 
BECANDLENI- After being caught wide in the early stages, was allowed to stride forward by its rider to obtain a position outside the leader near the 1400m.
 
 
Race 8: ATTWOOD MARSHALL LAWYERS Class 5 Handicap 1200 metres
 
OCEAN WAVES (NZ)-As the gelding had not started in a period exceeding 12 months, it was examined by the Veterinary Surgeon prior
 
GOGOL- Jumped in the air at the start and was then steadied from heels a short distance later.
