QUEENSLANDRACING INTEGRITY COMMISSION STEWARDS REPORT AQUIS PARK GOLD COAST – TUESDAY 02 NOVEMBER 2021 WEATHER – Overcast TRACK RATING – Soft 7, Heavy 8 following R2 RAIL – True PENETROMETER – 5.27 OFFICIALS Chairman of Stewards – R Hitchener Stewards – T. Hudson, P. ReardonClerk of Scales – M. KingJudge –S. McMahon, G AndersonVeterinarian –Dr. G Cavanagh Swab Attendants – K KilpratrickStarter – K Watson GENERAL As App. Y. Lewis was unable to attend the meeting, she was replaced as per the Stewards Summary. Stewards accepted the explanations tendered by Trainers in relation to late rider notifications at today’s meeting. All runners engaged at today’s meeting which have started in the preceding 4 days were examined by the Veterinary Surgeon prior to their event and subsequently passed fit to start. Race 1: NATIONWIDE FORKLIFTS QTIS Three-Year-Old Maiden Handicap 1800 metres All runners in this event were subject to pre-race swab sampling. The start was delayed when A FAIR SWEAR became fractious in the barriers. After being removed from the barriers, was examined by the Veterinary Surgeon and passed fit to start. In this incident Jockey J Murphy complained of some discomfort in his right foot. TAVISTOCK SQUARE (NZ) - Declared a late scratching at 8:34am acting on Veterinary advice. MISS SENSIBLE- Due to the slow early tempo, was allowed to stride forward by its rider to assume the leading position near the 1300m. A FAIR SWEAR – Raced ungenerously whilst being restrained in the early stages. MISHANI DREAMER – Slow to begin. Raced ungenerously whilst being restrained in the early stages. Jockey J Taylor was reprimanded for using his whip on more than 5 occasions prior to the 100m. Race 2: RBC GROUP Class 4 Handicap 900 metres DARE TO SHARE – Prior to the declaration of Correct Weight, Stewards reviewed the start to determine if the colt was denied a fair start. Having reviewed the Stewards patrol footage it was established that DARE TO SHARE’S barrier was slow to open, thus denying the colt a fair start. Therefore, Stewards declared the colt a non-runner. Upon the declaration of Correct Weight Stewards ordered that all monies invested on DARE TO SHARE be refunded with the following deductions to apply- 1st- 5cents the win, 6cents the place2nd- 6cents the place. IOLITE – Raced 3 wide without cover for the majority. Laid in under pressure over the concluding stages. SWEET RHAPSODY – Slow to begin. Race 3: PLAY GOLD COAST Class 4 Handicap 1400 metres Prior to this event the barriers were tested on a number of occasions. Due to heavy rain falling prior to this event, the track was downgraded to a Heavy 8, retrospective to include this event. BROOK HILL – Near the 1100m, was steadied to avoid the heels of FAST THINKER, which shifted out to secure a position one off the fence. Raced keenly during the middle stages. Held up approaching the home turn. Near the 200m was disappointed for a run and lost ground when SMART AS ATTACK laid in under pressure. Laid in under pressure in the home straight. MISHANI CONMAN –Tightened for room at the start. SMART AS ATTACK – Tightened for room at the start. Raced keenly in the early stages and was then forced wider near the 1100m when awkwardly placed at heels and as a result raced wide without cover for the remainder. Race 4: BECK LEGAL GROUP Maiden Handicap 1200 metres BEYOND FATE – Raced wide without cover throughout. PAR UN NEZ – Raced keenly in the early stages. Lost a near hind plate in running. GREY ZONE - Tightened for room at the start and lost ground. Laid in under pressure in the home straight. MORE THAN VENICE- Threw its head in the air at the start and lost ground. REAL MINT –Near the 1300m was steadied to avoid the heels of BEAN DREAMIN’ which was taken in by EVAN ALMIGHTY which shifted in when not completely clear. Jockey B Thornton the rider of EVAN ALMIGHTY was advised to exercise more care in similar circumstances. Raced keenly in the early stages. Jockey J Taylor was reprimanded for using his whip on more than 5 occasions prior to the 100m. NO CHOICES –Raced greenly throughout. Race 5: AC-TEC SERVICES 2021 JERICHO CUP QUALIFIER BENCHMARK 70 Handicap 3200 metres TIDES OF JUPITER – Laid in under pressure in the home straight. CLASS OF ROYALTY –Shifted wider on the track exiting the home straight on the first occasion to obtain a position outside the leader near the 1600m. HAMILTON PLACE – Steadied from heels near the 1600m. Shifted wider to improve near the 1300m and as a result raced wide with cover for the remainder. MR REDDINGTON – Shifted 3 wide to improve near the 1300m. LILIVALE LIBERTY- A post-race Veterinary examination of the mare failed to reveal any abnormalities. Race 6: RBC GROUP Fillies and Mares BENCHMARK 58 Handicap 1100 metres COSSIE –Raced keenly in the early stages. Raced 3 wide without cover for the majority. BOOMKO- Jockey T Wolfgram could offer no explanation for the below market expectation performance. A post-race Veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities. POET'S GIRL – Laid out rounding the home turn. PEACHIES DREAM- Began awkwardly. Race 7: PICKERING LUXURY GARAGE/MX SKINCARE Colts, Geldings & Entires BENCHMAR 1100 metres FLAT KAPPER –Declared a late scratching by order of the Stewards at 5:01pm acting on Veterinary advice after becoming cast in the barriers. Upon the declaration of correct weight, Stewards ordered that all monies invested on FLAT KAPPER be refunded wit the following deductions to apply on successful bets placed prior to 5:01pm- 1st- 2 cents the win 7 cents the place2nd- 3 cents the place. Trainer G Doughty was advised that prior to the gelding next racing it will require a further barrier certificate and a Veterinary clearance.
