Race 1: BPL ADVISORY QTIS Two-Year-Old Handicap 1100 metres

BEAUTY BOOM – Bumped by NO RETREAT shortly after the start.

ALERT STATE – Trainer L Ross was advised that the gelding would have a warning placed against it due to being reluctant to approach the barriers. Jockey N Callow reported the filly was hard ridden during the early and middle stages. He then went on to state that from the 400m the filly made some late ground, however in his opinion was somewhat disappointing and seemed uncomfortable on today’s soft track.

REBEL NEWS – Due to a technical issue with the racing Australia system some form guides did not display the gelding as wearing blinkers when in fact this gear change had been made prior to the prescribed time. Raced three wide throughout. Hung out for the majority.

WHERE YA BEAN – Slow to begin. Jockey L Kilner reported that the gelding hung out for the majority of the race.

BENEDICT ARNOLD – Trainer L Kelly was advised that the gelding would require an official trial due to being reluctant to approach the barriers. Hung in under pressure in the home straight.

BOARDIE – Raced four wide throughout. A post-race observation revealed the gelding to have speedy cut to its off-hind leg.

LOUISIANA STAR – Near the 50m when commencing to weaken was buffeted between runners.

NO RETREAT – Bumped BEAUTY BOOM shortly after the start.

Race 2: GC PLUMBING Maiden Handicap 900 metres

DARABAZ – Slow to begin. Inclined to hang in for the majority of the race.

BULLET FORCE – Momentarily raced in restricted room rounding the home turn. Jockey G Cartwright reported that the gelding travelled only reasonably in the event and when placed under pressure failed to respond as she had anticipated. Jockey G Cartwright added that in her opinion the tempo of the 900m event may not have been to the advantage to the gelding.

GRIS AMOUR – Began awkwardly making contact with the barrier partition. Tightened for room shortly after the start and lost ground. Following the event jockey A Fancourt reported she was suffering some discomfort in her right knee as a result of the horse beginning awkwardly.

Jockey Callow went on to state that near the 150m the gelding dipped and put in an awkward stride and from that point he eased the gelding down. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.

SUGAR ZONE – Bumped on jumping.

At a subsequent inquiry jockey R Fradd the rider MAXIMUM OUTPUT was found guilty of a charge of careless riding under the terms of AR131(a) in that near the 950m he permitted his mount to shift in when insufficiently clear of MUIRON which was tightened for room and checked to avoid heels. Jockey R Fradds license to ride in races was suspended for a period of 8 days to commence at midnight 19.06.2022 and to expire midnight 27.06.2022. In accessing the penalty stewards were mindful of jockey R Fradds good record. When the pace slackened near the 700m improved onto heels and had to steady.
